Shanya then turned his head to face the king, a look of surprise taking over his face. "Y-you're kidding, right?" he asked, a little skeptical. "It's impossible for me to make things more bearable, even for a king." He just couldn't believe what he heard.

The king didn't seem to be a truthful person. He was kind, full of nostalgia, and thoughtful, but he was also very much a deceiver. Though he hadn't known it, he had already led Shanya into what may be two traps: the first was that fixed trial, and the probable second was when the king first lied about Shanya's mother perhaps being alive, but then sent his world crashing down when he told the truth.

It wasn't that he really minded being told the truth, but why did the king lie in the first place? If the king is just setting up another trap, Shanya was sure he was going to at least try to leave this place by escape if not by death. The world must really hate him and want to make him suffer for a reason he didn't know about.

Reiba smirked, the look of disbelief and surprise so plain on the younger boy's face. "Don't believe me? I'm not forcing you." He sighed, laying down on the bed. "Yes, I'm quite a good liar, but I prefer to think of myself as a liar in a way that is uniquely my own.* Besides, I don't intentionally lie. I lie to protect those around me, but sooner or later, the truth will eventually come out.

"My mother died when I was young. I killed her. My father died of natural causes. My siblings have disowned me and think me a traitor. My entire council is a bunch of simpleminded monkeys, and I can't find a descent looking girlfriend in this entire kingdom. Why do you think I'm gay?" Reiba asked, looking straight at Shanya. "My life, in my opinion, sucks. It's just nice to have someone who can even remotely share you pain come into your life."

"If you think so lowly about your council, then why don't you just fire them and find worthier people?" Shanya asked, now curious. "You're the king, so you should be able to do that. If I'm wrong, then I guess it's reasonable. It's not like I know anything about the life of a king." Why in the world did he ask such a stupid question? It wasn't in his place to say such things, though there didn't seem to be anything wrong with them.

"Oh, by the way, if you're so sure that you're gay, then does Miss Leila know?" For some reason, Leila had appeared in Shanya's thoughts even though the conversation had little to do with her. "Sure, she likes you and yet you don't seem to return her feelings, but she should at least know something about you. That's the least you can do to compensate for not liking her back, right?"

"Fire my council? If I could, I would." Reiba sighed, flopping onto the bed. "But it states that a council can only be replaced if they die. And well, I'm in no mood to take anymore lives than I already have." The chocolate haired boy waved away the idea lightly, as if it were nothing. "Nobody knows much about the life of a king. Neither do I, sometimes. I don't know enough at least. Don't feel bad if you ask stupid questions; I enjoy them." The boy smirked.

After Shanya had asked his second question, the young king sighed. Sometimes, asking stupid questions could become a bit... annoying. But still, annoying was better than boring or nothing. Besides, Shanya didn't know better, he'd been on the streets with a memory wipe. He had actually surpassed Reiba's expectations. "I can't just run out and shout out to the world that I'm as straight as a circle, that would be blasphemy." The young king said. "I'd be dethroned and tossed out of the kingdom, I swear. Besides, Leila is nothing more than a friend. She may see me otherwise, but that is all that I see her as."

Shanya said nothing after that, not wanting to annoy the king. He had undoubtedly said too much, and he was probably keeping sleep away from the king. It was somewhat late at night, and therfore there was no reason to accidentally further deprive Tsukiyomi-sama of sleep.

This conversation was probably going to be the end of the first and very eventful day of Shanya's life in slavery. Heh, if only his parents knew this. They would probably die a second time or something.

"Are you tired?" Reiba asked, getting up and turning off the lights. Now the only brightness in the dark room came from the open windows and the lights from the city. "It's almost... ten o' clock. Later than usual." The young king sighed, yawning quietly.

"If you are still angry or disgusted with me, I could get you another room." Reiba said, trying not to agitate the younger boy more than he already had. "I wouldn't want to crawl into bed with someone who's been doing nothing but lie to me all day, wouldn't you?"

"I'm okay with sleeping on the ground," Shanya merely replied. "I wouldn't want to cause any trouble for you if you do find a room for me. Besides, I'm not used to beds in the first place, so I why should I need a another room?" Despite all that the king had done to him, he felt that he didn't want to cause any trouble for him.

"You should get comfortable with a bed." Reiba sighed with completely faked exasperation. "I really don't allow anybody but the guards to sleep on the ground, and that isn't really by choice." He said quietly, pulling Shanya closer to him so that they were both sitting on the bed together.

"I don't mind at all. It's no trouble to find you another room, really. Now, for Leila or Raziel, maybe... but that's their job." The young king waved off the idea idly. "Don't get me wrong, I appreciate them and all, but it's no trouble if it's their job."

"But I'm not used to having my own room anyway," Shanya said, shrugging. "I don't see why you don't allow people to sleep on the ground. It's not like it can hurt anyone." His mind was screaming at him that what he was saying wasn't appropriate to say in front of a king. Heck, the guy is a king, which means he should be treated with respect, so why was he talking to him like they were friends?

Sure, it seemed that they had been friends before, but that was a long time ago and thus didn't mean anything, right? It has been a long time, and friendships weren't supposed to last that long, or at least that's what he thought. He never had a friend, so he didn't know how long friendships should last.

"Who said you're having your own room? I just proposed that in case you still hated me." Reiba smirked, flipping Shanya so that he was laying down flat on the bed, and the young king was straddling him. "Anyway, sleeping on the floor is really bad for your spine. Sure, the ground is fine, but have you ever tried sleeping on marble before?'

Shanya blushed when he suddenly noticed that he was lying on the bed, which was strangely very uncomfortable, and the king was hovering over him. Everything had gone by so fast that he could barely register what had happened. His words, that would have come out before, now stuck to his throat and he could say nothing.

To answer the king's question, Shanya shook his head. By now he was trembling in fear, and he was expecting the worst. It was a bit unlikely that the king would do such a thing, but they had only met each other again after many years, which is enough time for a person to change.

Reiba looked down at Shanya, his eyes devoid of emotion even though his lips were set in a smirk. "Marble is one of the harder substances on this planet. It's like having a hammer on your spine." He whispered, not moving from his position.

Quietly and slowly, he bent down his head, finding the younger boy's neck with his lips. Reiba could feel the younger boy trembling, and put a finger to Shanya's lips. "Shh, don't be afraid. I would never intentionally hurt you."

The king's words, however, didn't decrease Shanya's fear at all. On the contrary, they just increased his fear and trembling. To him, everything that the king said meant the opposite. His mind just malfunctioned and he didn't know what to think.

The feeling of something strange on his neck nearly pushed him to the brink of hysteria. His heart was pounding from both an unknown desire and a terrible fear. This whole thing just seemed so wrong. In fact, it was nothing but wrong. The king wasn't supposed to do these things, right?

Reiba pulled away and looked at Shanya, who looked like he was going to break down crying at any second. What a pitiful child. Couldn't even handle a little kiss, and it wasn't even to the lips! Jesus, the children these days... Reiba made a mental note to himself to walk around the village and pay people to seduce children. No, too *****. Besides, it was probably just Shanya.

"Sh, it's okay." THe young king placed a finger on Shanya's lips, stroking his hair gently. "Remember, I'm a homosexual. This is something that I do everyday. Not literally, but you know where I'm coming from." The chocolate haired boy smiled, running his tongue up the younger boy's clavicle to his mandible. (Collar bone to jaw)

What the king had done next made something in Shanya snap. Swift panic swallowed him and he turned blind to the world around him. His common sense was practically banished and replaced by utter terror. He could no longer think of what the king would do to him later. His mind only thought of escape.

Immediately, Shanya attempted to push the king away. He constantly heard screams that he knew were definitely his own. There was a huge doubt that anyone would try to stop the king, since nearly no one dared to disobey him. Any hopes of getting out of this situation were probably buried away.

There were too many things that he didn't understand. What kind of friend does these things to a friend that they've never seen for years? It just wasn't normal! If the king really wanted to do these things, why couldn't he just find someone who was willing?
