Sarge
Sarge shivered a bit as he allowed the Flareon to back away from his plethora of love. His blue eyes were shimmering and tears were pouring down from them. He was so happy another Pokemon had come and showed him a little kindness, something many other passerby's had refused to do. The next time Sarge was out on a walk and came across a homeless Pokemon, he'd definitely do all he could to help the poor Pokemon out. "Th-Thank you..." Sarge said softly, following the Flareon. "My name is Seraphim Church... People call me Sarge~"

~Kyle
"...My name is Kyle." The Flareon's words almost seemed weak as he introduced himself after noting the tears streaming through Sarge's fur. Seating himself by the door he was just about to pass through, it was obvious that he was taking a moment of deep contemplation. However not much time was spent before he came to a conclusion and spoke once more for the betterment of his team. "If my leaders approve, which I'm sure they wouldn't mind, would you consider a more prolonged stay with us? If you have no where else to go that is..." He tried to word the offering up of a position on his team as casually as possible.

EpitaphEpitaph rested on a couch off to the side of the fireplace, her body laid out comfortably, taking up nearly the entire couch itself with the Flareon’s size. Her tail tip actively flicked behind her gesturing both consciousness and a state of thought though of what, it was normally impossible to tell. The Flareon seemed content though, smiling smugly at the fireplace. Epitaph had been around the guild halls actively for some time now, never exactly staying in one place for very long at all. She’d heard of the festival in passing, but for some reason, she just didn’t feel like going. Here was just fine. Why, she herself didn’t know but she didn’t really bother thinking about it either. She felt carefree, nothing was wrong, nobody was dying, and the guild was at a festival. Things were going fine indeed.

 Laura
Laura took to the Commons a little concerned and a little weary. Normally she would be with Albus, but he wanted time to himself... time to think, time to run himself out and hopefully be able to deal with the thoughts that were bouncing around inside of his head. Normally she would have stayed with him anyways, but... she knew all too well exactly how scary what was going through his mind was. Death was looming on the horizon and it threatened to engulf all of them. If he wanted private time, she was good enough to give it to him. On her own, she simply winded up a blurry mixture of stressed and bored. She wanted dearly something to do to take her mind off of things. A game, a conversation, any sort of activity... anything! But wandering about on her own with suppressed thoughts of the apocalypse stunted any sort of desire or initiative to find something to do. The result was one very bored and very stressed Vaporeon wandering the palace. She recognized Epitaph on the couch, easily enough. One couldn't really miss the massive Flareon... and it was quick to tell she was the only person in the room Laura actually knew. Er... Knew... of? Have we ever met? We've probably met once, but I don't think we ever talked? I... I think...? Maybe... maybe she would just introduce herself under the context of a more-less stranger. Right, yes, that would work. Laura walked towards the couch and simply asked the polite question. "Is this seat taken?"

EpitaphEpitaph was oblivious to the other Eeveelution's entrance into the quiet room. It wasn’t until Laura spoke that the Flareon’s ear gave a solid twitch and she flailed upward in slight panic with her weight resting up on her front legs. Her lower body remained limp on the couch as she stared at the Vaporeon for a moment with a blank expression. Did she see this Vaporeon before? She couldn’t recall, but she looked troubled. Was something wrong after all? ...She’d been so out of it lately. Epitaph smiled after a few seconds of staring and simply nodded in reply to Laura as she dragged herself up into a proper sit. “No, not at all, feel free to sit and stay.” Epitaph paused, taking a moment to fix herself, though merely to simply gather her thoughts. She was so dazed lately; it probably looked horrible on her behalf. “I’m not sure if we’ve met. I’m Epitaph.” She smiled back at Laura again, though it quickly faded into a sense of concern. “Are you alright dear? You seem unsettled.” It wasn’t uncommon. If anything, it was more common as time moved on, but it never kept her from asking anyway. She’d rather let others get it out if they were willing to.

 Laura
"Thank you." Laura hoped up onto the couch beside (though not too close) to Epitaph before turning to face the fire and settling down a little bit. Epitaph's question came as both a welcome and unwelcome intrusion into her mind. She wanted to talk and make conversation but thinking about it all was the last thing she wanted to be doing. So, she just did what one typically did in such a case. Be vague! It was a wonderful thing to do. "Laura. And I'm not sure we have... we might have run into each other when I was with Albus, but this is the first time we've spoken. I guess I'm just... stressed? With everything that's been going on lately." She was pretty sure Epitaph knew, but she wasn't sure and it was best not to bring it up in either case. "What about you?" As in "how are you feeling"?

EpitaphEpitaph flashed another quick smile at Laura as she hopped up onto the couch before staring off and simply nodding along as she spoke. She'd figured as much, but she couldn't help but feel bad too. Laura seemed so young. To be worrying about such things, it wasn't right. The Flareon frowned in her thoughts. "I'm sure we'll be okay. Albus is smart, just be sure to stick by him and I'm sure you'll be just fine." Epitaph nodded slightly as she recalled the royal Flareon. He had such an aura about him. It was nice seeing. That was right though. This was the Vaporeon that followed him around everywhere. Why were they separated, she didn't go into. With the following inquiry, Epitaph fell silent for a moment. "I'm doing fine. The casual worries, but fine." The calm the fell over the guild lately on the other hand was less comforting than could have been. It felt more like some sort of passive, false hope that flashed in your mind before crashing with the anticipation behind it. Some good came out of it though as the Flareon immediately recalled the festival. "Oh, there's a festival going on if you're interested. It might clear your mind." It was something. It was better than nothing for sure, but she wasn't one to talk having been avoiding it herself.

 Laura
"He is." Calling Albus smart was just the beginning. He was a wonderful young man, especially in the eye of Laura. "He's very nice, very strong. He's just... stressed right now." The last part seemed almost as much a comment as it was an affirmation for Laura herself. Evidently, times were strained. She gave a halfhearted smile at the suggestion of the festival. It would have been nice, but she wasn't going and there was a good reason for that. "It might, but no one's really in the mood to go to a festival. Everyone's scared. It's hard to really think 'we should go to a celebration' right now." No, no, no. This wasn't any good. This wasn't steering the conversation in a good direction. She had come here to do something to take her mind off the impending doom, not focus on it. Changing the topic would be... good. But what did she even know about the Flareon? Laura had never really met her before and she wasn't really that tied into guild politics... Isn't Solaris constantly trying to woo her, though...? It's pretty obvious. Yeah... that would make a good enough topic of conversation. If it came down to it she could always just play it off as a rumour she had heard... yeah. "What about you and Solaris? How are the two of you doing?"

EpitaphEpitaph smiled Laura complimented the Flareon. It was sweet and nice seeing. Her latter response was overall ignored outside of a nod. The subject was best left unspoken of. At least in a situation like this. At the mention of Solaris, Epitaph blinked and took a quick glance at Laura before staring off. "Well... I'd say things are going about right." Generally speaking. Any sort of relationship has its mistakes. She was hardly that affectionate around the Espeon, but it was probably obvious anyway. Just more obvious on his behalf. "Fine I'd say, just busy. It's nice to see Solaris doing better than usual." Or so she hoped. He was doing fine for a while, but she herself had been pretty MIA as of recent.

 Laura
"Mmm... He's been doing better lately I've heard. I'm not really involved with the guild." The reality was was that she had only ever come to the guilds for Albus to begin with and she had only joined his team to be closer to him. She didn't really have any ties or obligations to it... thankfully the fact that Tolin was the team leader seemed to make them immune to the normal rules. No one had ever knocked on their door or questioned their lack of work... either the staff ignored it or one of the leaders specifically chose to do so but their team simply wasn't questioned. Thank god for that, too... she wasn't a fighter. Not by any means. She could barely fight at all... she was terrible on the field. No, no, think of something else. "How did you two meet, anyways? By the time I joined the guild his wife had only recently died... it's surprising to see him with someone else." It's not like his station really allowed for a lot of idle socializing and romance.

EpitaphEpitaph gave an approving nod with Laura's reply, taking a moment to glance at her before staring at the fire with her tail flicking by her side idly. It was nice having someone normal to talk to. Laura was just some member around the guild with no sort of rank at all. Epitaph could get away with a normal conversation almost too easily-- though there was still a sense of distance naturally. It wasn't like she was close to Laura or knew her personally. Her attention turned back toward the Vaporeon at her next question, and Epitaph was quiet for a moment as she recalled the exact situation. "Well, my daughter came here originally." Right, Solaris had a mate some time ago didn't he? She recalled that conversation around the time she first joined. "I ended up coming here some time after her and went to Solaris before anyone else to explain myself." Epitaph shrugged her shoulders. She didn't know Solaris was a bit... out there. Things seemed to go smoothly for her anyway. The fact that Orion tried killing a few of them the day she joined aside. To this day she only understood why so well. "Is it? I suppose he moves on quickly. I was married quite some time before coming here myself. Though I'm sure my mate died long before Solaris'. That's a story for another day though." Simply, 'I don't wanna talk about it.' "How did you end up here?" Honestly, Epitaph would have passed Laura for a royal had she not known better. It seemed like every Eevee here could be considered as such without proper knowledge.

"Mmm. I guess so." Though Laura gave a passive reply, in truth her mind raced ahead of her as she tried to figure out exactly what she could say. I can't tell her why I actually came but it's not like it's easy to explain being on the team... The reality was was that she had basically stalked Albus across the landscape on nothing more than a silly little crush, though she wouldn't admit that to herself. No matter how you turned and spun the story it really didn't sound very good for her... at any rate, she would end up sounding really creepy and that was a good way to kill the mood and the conversation. Maybe it would... just be best to... dance around the point and not really answer? Yeah, that would probably work the best. "After everything that happened with Rebirth, I ended up heading into the Guild of the Sun territory... after looking around for a bit I ended up having a talk with Tolin and joining the team." It was a really, really obvious dodge on her part but there really wasn't time or mind to whip up a proper tale.

EpitaphEpitaph gave Laura a curious stare at her explanation, utterly ignoring the questionable response in favor of simply wondering what she meant. She knew Rebirth fell, but she couldn't recall if she saw the Vaporeon before that either. Or did something happen prior? She wasn't exactly all in touch with the guild's history. Her stare drew blank after a moment and Epitaph simply nodded. "I see... How is Tolin? I imagine having someone like him as a team leader is quite an experience." He was always so busy. Epitaph herself hardly ever ran into him but he seemed like an okay guy. Strict, but someone such as himself had to be, right? She turned her head down for a moment of thought before looking at the fireplace, then idly at Laura again. How did Tolin run a team and do all he does anyway...? She didn't entirely get the team system, but it didn't seem too hard either. She was probably just over thinking it.

 Laura
How was Tolin...? That was a question that was hard to answer for a lot of reasons. First and foremost was the fact that she didn't know him very well. The Scyther wore a much thicker, much more shielding exterior than just his exoskeleton. He was quiet and his affairs were his own. What made it even worse was the fact that he had almost created his own little circle within the team itself. Desmond and Serrin were... almost impossible to approach. The former for obvious reasons. Desmond is a Lugia, Lugia tend to be hard to approach. Serrin, however was almost... condescending? It didn't seem intentional, but there it was all the same. There was a very clear difference between how he viewed Tolin and how he viewed others. Tolin was an "equal" and everyone else was not. All the same, it wrapped together to make Tolin a very difficult person to talk to. He seemed to switch at an instant from calm and peaceful to stern. In an instant, he would shift from someone who you felt awkward talking to without being a close friend to someone that you couldn't speak to anything about but business. "Stern." Just one word was all she could say. A pause overtook the scene as she was unsure what to actually say. "He keeps to himself and he tries not to involve us. Most of us aren't fighters. We don't do normal team work, either... probably because of everything that's been happening." Well, even without what was happening they were kind of difficult to touch. Albus was the son of the guildmaster and Tolin was... well. Even if you rubbed off the chaos and stress that seemed so all-consuming chances are no one would bother them about work anyways.

EpitaphEpitaph's head made a slight tilt at the silence upon her question. She figured there'd be a quick answer, Laura having been with Tolin for some time now. Her reply in the end probably only furthered the Flareon's blank expression and curiosity. Epitaph smiled though as she recollected the few memories she had of the Scyther. Yes, it sounded about right. "Well, always best to be prepared, right? You're all best off staying as you are, but being with Tolin, I'm sure you know that already." Tolin had such a sense of authority and she was simply here, existing, watching Solaris go about his way. Epitaph was a rather active Flareon and simply sitting around was hardly appealing. She needed something to do... At least that alone gave her something to look into, or at least ask about. Eventually, the Flareon's head tipped slightly as she dragged herself up then jumped off the couch before turning to Laura with her casual smile. "I'm sure everything will be fine. As for me, I'd best be going. I'd like to look into the festival a bit as well." With that, Epitaph turned in place and began to make her way back to the door, simply speaking into the open. "Tell Tolin I said hello if you get the chance, take care of yourself~"
