"Ha..." The timid boy mumbled quietly tugging at the man's sleeve. The pair had left early, very early. For one reason alone really. Haruki didn't want to deal with the little hellspawn that was the child's twin. He was quite sick of the boy by now, and it didn't help that things just kept getting worse as the child grew. It didn't help that the child had once again tried to plot a way to cut off the red-head's hair just yesterday. Haruki wasn't the most friendly persont o begin with, but Keivlos just kept insisting on grating his nerves to their limit. One of these days.... just one of these days.
"Yes?" The man replied managing to keep his tone neutral even as he imagined finally locking the boy's twin up for good. Ah yes, a nice room far away from him, that would solve all of the problems. Not hurting the child, just having someone else deal with him until he was normal.
"W-why am I- I get-t-ting a e-egg?" He mumbled quietly still trailing along and half hiding behind the taller caretaker. The brilliant pinks in his outfit certainly didn't match his nature at all. Drawing attention to himself while in reality he was just trying to avoid them all. That way no one could hate him. He still didn't understand how to be good at all times yet, so he couldn't be around people. Thus why coming here was a problem.
"It's part of growing up as part of this company." Came the empty reply. It wasn't his job to worry about Revon's state of mind. Keep him in one piece? Yes, that he had to do. Keep the boy fed, healthy, and hopefully happy came along with this. Not that it seemed to be working, he was far to busy being bullied by his brother to make friends. Ah yes, that was why he hadn't been able to get rid of having those lovely 'visits' yet. The brothers just had to be kept together, it would be awful for them to be seperated. Or so that woman insisted. "Stop dragging your feet now, we're almost there." He added after a moment. They might have left early, but with Revon's habit of walking slow when he wasn't going somewhere he wished to they wouldn't really be that early at all. It was a wonder the hellspawn hadn't caught up with them. Perhaps he was just lucky in having the woman take the bird a different path than he'd chosen, what luck that would be. Still, as he finally managed to get the somewhat reluctant raven to walk through the doors into area with the eggs it was apparently that none of the other parents had arrived yet. At least it seemed that way.
Yes, he recalled it being much louder when he'd had to lead children around.
Revon blinked a bit at the reply he'd gotten before stepping into the room, his wings curling tightly around his shoulders as he shifted his weight a moment. He didn't exactly want to go into the room for fear that there would be a lot of people, but after the moment of hesitation he stepped in so not to be left behind by Haruki. "B-but... I do-don't want o-one." He glanced around once more as he sped up a little to make up the few steps he'd lost in the pause. It looked like no one else would be here, so that would mean less people?
"You don't get a choice, besides it can be your friend." The statement didn't seem to work on the boy, however what came next brought the slightest smile. "Besides your brother is coming, he'll have an egg too." And that alone seemed to end whatever argument there would have been, not that Revon really argued much.
"Lo t-too?" He curled his fingers around the black sleeve of his keeper ducking his head down a bit as he said it. Well if Keivlos had one, he should have one too. Yes, he'd do his best to be it's friend, to make it like him. "Okay." Then again... how did one befriend a dragon?

"Keivlos! Stop that--" Madeline tried desperately to pull the twitching raven from her curling hair. For the past few days he had been quite clinging, and despite how much the teacher thought she would loved to be fawned over, it was quite the opposite experience. Unlike most children who would happily and quietly cling to mommies side and fall asleep while they were carried around everywhere, Keivlos thought it would be fun to kick and squirm and cause as much trouble as possible.
If she could have, she would have put him down. Yet, she wasn't the one who picked him up, he had simply scrambled up along her until he found a nice safe spot to dangle around her neck. So, in order to save herself need a of a good massage, she simply cradled him sake of the delicate limb. "Ssshiny taste bad!" Sputtered Keivlos as he spit out a handful of hair he had began to chew upon.
Blue eye twitched as Madeline realized her hair was now covered in sticky saliva...god knew what that boy put in his mouth. Nothing good, that was for sure. However, as long as he was being somewhat decent she would be content. Today was important for him, today was the day he would be getting his dragon--or, erm, at least he would be seeing the egg. Madeline nearly groaned at the thought, a dragon, a real life full blown dragon, that would be the companion he had for the rest of his life. Why? Why couldn't D-corp hand out dogs or cats instead, those creatures were so much less destructive. Keivlos with a dragon? All the blonde could do was pray that god would look upon her favorably and give the child something harmless....then again, what kind of dragon is harmless?
"Just promise mother you'll be good today?" Madeline glanced down at the lump in her arms which was now trying to gnaw at her earring. With a subtle glance the raven looked up, "Keivie be gooood." The bird said slyly, "Keivie be real good, Keivie wants to see hiiss pet."
Hmmn, well at least she had his word he would behave. Perhaps she needed to find some sort of leverage that would always keep him behaving well. But what could she threaten to take away if he misbehaved? --"REVIE!" Screamed the suddenly vibrant figure in her arms, and with that Keivlos lept from Madeline down to the ground and skidded across till he landed at Haruki's feet with a delectably evil grin on his face.

They were running late. Punctuality had never really been a problem before, but Tovar didn't exactly find himself on the recieving end of many appointments. The tasks he found himself doing were closer to the 'Go forth and do this, this, and this. Right now,' rather than the 'At twelve o'clock, I'd like you to meet me here' so we can do this, this and this.
Which was probably why Etain found himself being half-drug down the hall as Tovar and he clattered along, wheeling around a corner. "T-tovar," Etain squeaked, fingers gripping the older man's hand more for his own balance than anything. "Tovar, m-my shoe's coming," --Oh, there it went. Etain made a horrified noise. "It's off! It's off!"
Tovar stalled, made an exasperated noise, and swirled back around and snatched Etain's fallen sandal from the floor. "Here," he said, stooping and stuffing the sandal back over Etain's foot. With a great swoop of arms, he lugged the unicorn off the floor and half over his shoulder, taking back off down the hall.
Etain was disturbingly used to being carried around more like a sack of potatoes than a small child. He folded his arms over Tovar's shoulder and propped his chin on top of them to keep from chattering his teeth. Legs hanging awkwardly, he watched the corner they'd turned around receed farther and farther as they moved deeper into the building.
"T-t-tovar, if I'm gettin' a dragon, does this m-mean" -- it was hard to talk over the lurch of Tovar's strides. Etain curled his toes to keep his shoes on -- "I-I won't g-get a fish like M-medusa?"
"Can we talk about this later, Etain?" Tovar asked, counting the numbers on the doors they passed. "Besides, you don't want a fish in your stomach like Medusa, anyway."
"W-well, no. I-in a tank."
"Later. --AH HA!" The pair half-skidded to a halt in front of the door. Tovar let Etain slide down off his shoulder and then the two burst prmoptly through the door with a triumphant cry of "We're here! We're not late!"
...And then Tovar realized there were only two other people in the room anyway. Flushing and blinking, he looked quickly to Etain. "Etain, what time did Michael say this was at?"
Shaking himself off, tail flicking, the unicorn looked up at Tovar. "Mich'l? Er. Iunno. He said a number that was different from what was on the paper..."
Tovar made a mental note to never let Michael read him a letter again, whether he was busy making lunch or otherwise.

Perilas looked up from his clipboard as the first child entered, parental unit in tow. Ah, one of the raven twins. Not that Perilas knew which one, but both had teachers as parents. Boy was Peri glad he hadn't volunteered to take care of one of these midgets. He'd been having some experience with the kids through these classes and he had reaffirmed his desire to never have a child. Too much trouble.
Which exactly what walked in the door next. Peri noted with slight relief that it was the other twin. Good. That meant he wouldn't have to figure out which kid was which. Their tanks were right next to each other, so he'd do them both at the same time.
The teacher's thoughts were interrupted as a man burst in the door with the unicorn child, declaring loudly that they weren't late. Peri raised an eyebrow and glanced at the clock. Nope. Not late. In fact, even a bit early.
As the minute hand moved onwards to designate the time and with no other children entering, Perilas looked at the trio of children and parents. Only one mother. Kind of depressing, but oh well.
"Well, it's time we got started. Just a few quick rules. No running, no touching anything unless I say so, and no wandering off on your own. Once you've seen your egg, you can stay with it with your parent or you can continue along with the rest of the group."
Peri eyed the group for a minute, then waved them all to follow after him. "Our first two eggs are for the twin boys," Peri glanced at his clipboard. "Revon's egg is on the left while Keivlos' egg is on the right." The man pointed to two thick tanks, each with a small window to peer in. "Both of the boys have been given a black dragon. Black dragon eggs have to be incubated in acid, thus the strong tanks."
He peered at the two boys. "Any questions?"

Haruki had only a few moments to appraise this new teacher before the beast announced itself. Ah yes, that scream could only come from one mouth, and sure enough looking int he direction(and a bit down) proved it. There with a look that spelled only more mischief on his face was Keivlos, someone Haruki could have lived without ever meeting.
"L-lo!" The boy had spotted the pair as soon as they walked in and decided that sneaking further from the unknown teacher who had something to do with dragons was a good idea. Especially if it meant getting closer to his brother. A smile curled momentarily at the corners of the white haired boy's mouth before he heard more noise. His brother was good to see, but this new person yelling something about not being late..? He shifted his weight slightly before reaching out to wrap his arms around his brother's and duck his head a bit while staring at the newcomer. Newcomers actually, now that he looked there was someone his age in the older man's arms. Something wearing...
Revon blinked momentarily as his eyes focused on something that shouldn't have interested him as much as it did. A sparkly sandal that reminded him quite a bit of his own, save for these were a darker shade. Purple, well purple certainly couldn't compare to the lovely shade of pink his were, however someone who liked the gel sandals couldn't be bad. "Lo l-look!" The boy called in a hushed voice, releasing his grip a bit on his brother's arm. "His s-shoes... t-they are li-like mine." He only managed to state that before the man who had first been in the place spoke. Turning a bit to get a better look at the man as he spoke then turned to move off. A quick glance at his keeper proved that following was what they had to do and the boy released his brother and moved after the teacher slowly.
It didn't take long for them to reach the first target. Two tank things that had windows. Peeking in the one that had been titled as his egg the boy only had one real question about the egg. He wasn't too sure what acid was, but he'd been told not to touch things so maybe it was bad? Still even if it was dangerous it was supposed to be his friend right? He didn't bother asking the teacher though. Even now he was bad at talking to strangers and so the question was directed at the red head who'd gotten quite the annoyed look on his face at the mention of the type of dragon. "H-ha... how d-do I m-make friends wi-with an e-egg?"
A black dragon. His boss sure had a sick sense of humor. The man wasn't able to keep the look off his face at the mention of the dragons, he'd researched the creature more than most of them for the fact that one of the children he'd been meant to explain the egg to had had a black dragon. The child hadn't shown up, but Haruki still recalled what he'd read. Now he'd have possibly been able to handle one dragon, but with the twins there would be two. One belonging to the beast, and the other... He briefly looked down at Revon as he tugged at his sleeve prompting a question. Ah yes, one to the boy who'd have been better off taking care of a cotton ball. "You can't make friends with an egg, wait until it hatches." He replied simply, glancing back at the tank that spelled death to any cleanliness the apartment had at the moment. Once that thing hatched it'd likely keep making messes. Most dragons might have been less trouble, but weren't black ones the most trouble? Ah, this just kept getting worse. Now he'd have the beast and it's tag-along pet to deal with. He could only hope Revon's turned out to be as harmless as the boy in pink was.
"Ohh... s-so," The boy looked down briefly shifting his feet nervously. "t-the egg w-won't like m-me?"
"The egg can't like, or dislike things yet." The red head sighed rubbing his forehead momentarily before turning his attention to the man. "No questions here, if Revon has anything he needs to know I can tell him." He was a teacher afterall.

The touch of his brothers palm was so soft compared to Keivlos' rough hand. Still a child and yet his skin in certain areas was already battered and calloused. Peri might not have known which twin was which but it would be easy enough to tell them apart when he did figure things out. Already they were drifting apart from each other, the matching outfits they had arrived in together were so misleading, if only they would to stay the same, life would be so much easier. Perhaps it would have been that Keivlos would take on some of Revon's quiet nature and Revon...well maybe he would learn to be a little more asertive. Even though the two boys lived close to each other they didn't spend much time, both parents had their own agendas of how you raised a child properly. Besides, the twins had their own interests, and really now, Keivlos didn't think playing DDR wasn't just that great.
It was the ever so slightest sign of affection which Keivlos repaid Revie with. Unlike in the past where he might have tackled his brother to the ground, the white haired boy barely squeezed Revie's hand back, and if you could have called it a smile he gave his brother, he certainly gave him one. Yet Revon's attention was only held onto for so long and was quickly snatched away by what Keivlos in his mind referred to as 'intruders'.
Sitting back on his haunches Keivlos swiveled round to view those whom had dared take his brother's attention away from him. A man...a man thing, nothing special not even a creature with shiny hair. The white thing however made Keivlos instinctively flinch and pulling his hands to his face. The white pretty....why, why did that child have to be the white pretty? As past experience had taught him pretty or beauty always caused some kind of pain, or so he thought. Therefore his second to favorite color always told some sign of forbidding doom. Such a tragic twist the things you like best you fear the most.
But fate is kind sometimes, for Peri called the birds attention to follow and soon Keivlos beheld the glass case before him. Whatever woes or worries had once been in his mind were quickly forgotten with remembrance of the new pet he was about to receive. Slowly Keivlos slithered towards the glass, inching his way up the tips of his fingers crawled along the glass until he had managed smoosh his face up against the case. Naturally Keivlos was fascinated by the object in the container, the mad gleam in his eyes along with the eerie outlined reflection of the egg, proof enough of that. Twisting his head around the Raven looked at Peri mouth full of teeth showing, "Whaaaaat doess ahhcid tassste like?"
"Keivlos! You said you would behave." Came the sudden agitated and worry filled voice of his mother, Madeline. With a worn sigh the blonde lowered her head and ran her hands through her curls. "I'm sorry..." she mumbled to Peri as she looked back up only to view a sneering Keivlos. "He thinks it's amusing to ask those sorts of things. You'd have better luck getting questions out of his brother, and seeing how his brother has none well--" Madeline stopped and folded her hands in front of her hips turning to stare back at the last two members of the party. This would be over soon thankfully.

Etain's fingers quickly found their way to Tovar's hand, stringing itself up in the man's larger fingers even as he instinctively drew a little back, tucking himself like a instect behind the protective ledge of the man's body, putting Tovar hip between himself and the other people. Etain kept his eyes on the ground, gaze wandering uneasily over feet rather than faces. It was easier to tell that way - it didn't make him feel so sick when it happened if he just looked at their feet. Which would, naturally, be why he noticed the glitter sandals in the first place. Starting, Etain looked quickly to the boy's face. Anyone who wore sandals like him... A compulsory examination of the other boy exhibited a certain taste of color that Etain couldn't help but approve mutely of - even if purple was better than pink. "T-Tovar," Etain whispered, half into the fabric of the man's t-shirt, stretched over the edge of his hip. "That kid's shoes."
Tovar carefully pulled Etain away from his hip, nudging him a little foreward. This unhealthy habit the boy had been developing - hiding behind him - would probably best be broken sooner rather than later. Whatever it was about certain people that Etain didn't like... - well, hiding wasn't going to make matters any better, but they could almost certainly make them worse. "Maybe you should talk to him about them when you're done here," Tovar suggested, unraveling his fingers from Etain's and bumping the unicorn a little forward.
Etain shied slightly away from the nudge, long ears pinning and tail flicking uncomfortably. Afterward, maybe, but he didn't want to talk when he was supposed to be learning stuff; besides, he wasn't sure how close he wanted to get to either of the boys' parents; older people seemed to make him itchy and skin-crawly far more often than other children did. Etain nibbled his lower lip uneasily. Later, he told himself. After he saw the egg that Tovar had grumbled about the whole way. Etain had to wonder why he could have one, particularly if Tovar was just going to worry and fuss about it.
His attention was caught up momentarily by the new voice. Large brown eyes roved along the floor until he'd caught sight of the teacher's shoes. He didn't look higher; rather, Etain ducked his head and - whether Tovar liked it or not - his hand found his guardian's again. Still nibbling on his lip, Etain scuttled after the two boys and their own parents toward the indicated tank. Not his, he reflected uncertaintly, casting a glance down the length of the room. Lots of tanks, he registered before glancing back to the ones with 'acid.' Lots and lots of eggs.

Perilas had been watching the two raven boys, noting the one in pink (they were both male, correct? His paper had said so...) turned to his parent for an answer to his question. An interesting question, though one a child could been seen asking. After all, D-corp was stressing the relationship between dragon and child...
As Revon's father stated that he'd handle all the boy's questions (show-off know-it-all...), Peri turned his attention happily over to the one female parent. If he'd thought that Revon was a bit odd, Keivlos' rather... demented question convinced Perilas that these two were quite insane.
"Ah, well... children are children." Peri commented with the sort of attitude of one who'd never had or even watched a child. He smiled warmly at the woman.
After a moment, he turned to the last boy. "Ah, well, then. We'll go on to the last egg." He beckoned towards the unicorn boy and parent, leading them on to an incubator displaying a golden egg in the middle of an open flame.
"Etain's dragon is a gold dragon. The egg has to stay in very hot temperatures until it's ready to hatch. Any questions?"

Oh the world certainly wasn't just in Keivlos' mind as his brother was doting over two things not him. Certainly something did seem wrong with the picture, considering the boy had always clung to his brother like no other. Now, he was torn slightly. The egg was important, but he didn't really know what to do with it. He couldn't touch, he couldn't talk, and it couldn't like him. However there were the sandals, he could talk about those. The downfall was that it meant talking to a new person, a strange one at that. The person had a horn, he'd never seen anyone quite like that.
The decision was made quickly for him, as Keivlos' question was dismissed and the man toddled on. Haruki obviously had no intention of holding back at the tank to let Revon ask any other silly questions and so the boy quickly scurried after his caretaker latching onto the man's sleeve as he did.
Gold. That was what was labeled as the next egg. It was shiny too, with flickering fire all around it. He didn't see fire much, but he thought it was very pretty. Destructive, but pretty. It danced gracefully, a very different dance than his gameallowed him to practice, but this one was better. It was far more enjoyable to watch it move like that, something he couldn't do. Maybe he could learn to though..?
"Ha... can I..?" He whispered after glancing up. Though it seemed the caretaker didn't hear, or didn't care to answer as no response came. He just looked at the ceiling as if waiting for the entire meeting to end. Thus, without any guidance ont he matter the boy turned back to watching the flames in silence while clinging to the fabric as if it was some form of protection. Maybe he could try to. Just when no one was looking. Yes, that would be better, he could try to dance like those flames when no one could see.
Revon shifted his wings slightly before inching closer to Haruki's side and ducking his head, but first came surviving this whole thing without making someone hate him.

Behave? But he was...why were people always shouting...always talking to loud to him. The raven brought his hands up to his ears, little fingers brushing against black wings it hurt, make it stop. Make it stop! He didn't like the loud talking anymore. Turning away from his mother, Keivlos kept his hands over his ears tightly and decided simply to stare back into the endless glassy liquid of the tank.
Stupid people...stupid hurting people even if some were pretty and others had the red shiny and Mother the golden shiny. Stupid Revie ...Keivlos glanced over at the distinctive sets of shimmering pink and purple sandals and within him bubbled an immediate molten hate. Ugly, those were ugly colors. He hated those colors.
Sweaty palms made that screeching sound against glass as Keivlos slid down onto the floor again. Reproachfully he looked up at the only figure who was standing back with him, mother.
Really, the blonde had felt bad for scolding her child but...he needed it. If he didn't receive some serious punishment now, his behavior would probably grow worse and worse. Madeline loved her son, how couldn't she? She had always wanted a child, and well even if it was a slightly odd one...it was still hers and she loved him, so it broke her heart when she had to scream and shout just to get his attention.
"Come on..." said the woman at last leaning down to pick up a small Raven who already had his arms out stretched. Slowly Madeline walked down the hall catching up with the rest of the group just as Peri finished with his talk of gold dragons. "Look," whispered Madeline to Keivlos, " shiny gold..." and oh how Keivlos was happy once more.

Drawing his attention away from the tanks with their roiling acid and black, black eggs, Etain tugged faintly on his guardian's hand before moving after the strange man's feet. Don't look up, don't look up, he told himself, careful to tail after the shadow. This way he could ask questions if he needed to, he told himself. If the man turned out to make his skin crawl, he wouldn't be able to concentrate. Maybe he wouldn't after all, but Etain would much rather press his face to the glass of some container and look at eggs without the hair-raising sensation of itchy people watching him than know one way or another. Someone in the room was probably one - there was a pressure somewhere behind his eyes that made his head ache - but not knowing was better. Better by a long shot.
The thought, fortunately or not, didn't linger long - or in the least, it was shoved to the back of his mind with the presentation of the last egg; his egg. Etain disengaged his hand from Tovar's, the soles those purple sandals clumping across the floor as he scuttled to the side of the incubator. The glass was cool under his fingers, which seemed weird because Tovar said again and again that 'Fire was hot, so don't get close to it!' Maybe the glass stopped it.
"When'll it come out?" Etain asked, words mangled a little by the way his nose pressed against the glass, eyes squinting against the glare of the fire reflected off the bright surface of the egg itself.

"Should be fairly soon, though it's hard to gauge such things," was Peri's answer to Etain's question. Which was why he didn't like it when kids didn't show up for their group.

It might be soon? Etain glanced back to the egg, a worried expression sliding across his face. A dragon was going to be hard to fit into the house if it stayed like it was, he reasoned. Tovar an' him would have to do some serious cleaning up real soon if they wanted to fit a whole dragon inside the house without knocking stuff over and making a huge mess! Etain had seen Simon's dragon and how big it was; he couldn't imagine trying to get Leviathan through the narrow clutter-lined halls of the house any more than he could imagine putting a gold dragon through them, even if it was only a baby. He glanced meaningfully back over his shoulder at Tovar - though either his guardian wasn't paying attention or he was lost in his own world of panic; for whatever reason, Tovar didn't seem to catch the glance.
"What does it eat?" Etain piped up, looking back to the egg in the nest of fire. "...people?"

Perilas grinned at Etain's next question. "Nah. All dragons eat meat. Like cow or sheep or even chicken." Though there were a few dragons out there that wouldn't mind a snack of a human or elf, Peri wisely decided not to mention it.
"Well, alright, then. That'll be it for today. You can come back and visit whenever you'd like. Just make an appointment to have a D-tech in here."
