((And we seem to hit a stopping point. Thank god my work day ends at noon tomorrow. BBQ!))
PostPosted: Tue Nov 24, 2009 9:02 pm

Sin nodded and started slicing demon after demon, left and right. He noticed that for each demon that fell, another just rose in it's place. Sin sighed and realized no matter what they did or however many they killed, more would just could after them. They had to send them back through the portal. It was the only way.

Sin, disintegrated his scythe back into water and it soaked into the ground. He put his hands together in front of his chest and started to hum as if he were praying. The ground started to shake and pitch. The demons stopped their onslaught and looked around, wondering what was happening. The ground began to crack and buckle beneath their feet. Water began to well up and seep through the cracks. Soon, a giant fault line ripped through the ground and out of it rose a massive wave of water. Sin's eyes turned into a deep blue as he connected to the living wave.

The demons were awe struck. Some dropped their weapons. Others cringed at the sight. And still, others turned tail and ran away towards the portal. The wave grew to epic proportions and roared at the demons who started to flee before it, headed back toward the portal. The wave herded them all toward the portal and some even got caught within the wave. Those that got caught within the wave were crushed from the pressure. As the last few demons crossed the threshold, the wave capsized on itself, propelling the corpses of demons through the portal.

Sin feel to his knees as his eyes turned back to their gray hue. His nose started to bleed. He put a finger to his face and touched the thin trail of blood. He looked at the blood on his fingertips, then fell to the side, his eyes closed. He was exhaused. And drained.

((Btw guys...Sin's a cambion, not a nephilim. So yeah..just putting it out there for future reference.))

((Holy freaking crap!! I loathe work. I missed all this!? Damnit!!))

Distracted by the presence of his leader, and having lost sight of the Half-Breed, Noktal felt his rage increase. Everything should just die. Everyone should just vanish. Closing his eyes, he raised his scythes heavenwards, a demonic hymn coursing through him. Above him, the skies darkened even more, black lightning flashing out. It hit a demon and his weapon began cackling with the fel energy. It hit a random Cambion, and his entire body was wrapped with it. Where it hit the ground, the water vanished. Striking straight down, it plunged through Noktal, encasing him. Shoving his wings through, he was wreathed in black armor, his scythes gone, replaced with a claymore that was longer than he was. On it, runes danced fervently. Descending down, he landed a few feet from where a Cambion with a katana was. Raising his blade and pointing it at her, he leered cruelly.

"Tell me child, will you bow before me? Do so, and you may be spared. Do so, and I will grant you more power than you can imagine. You are alone now child. Give me your power, and I will spare those still here."
Noktal had gotten closer, the lightning wrapped around his fist. Pointing it next to the man that had just collapsed, a cage of it smashed down around him, and started to slowly close. Where the bolts were in the ground, they incinerated a path.
"You know us to be cruel, but that is only part of the truth. We can be kind and forgiving. All it will take is a bow, and an oath to serve us."

((Already know it, Twai, though I have to admit, you could easily pull him off as a Nephilim. Also, Namine, you arent the only one who hates work for missing out on the good s**t. I only count myself lucky to sit at a computer all day and be able to keep a tab open to here))

Sin may have been exhausted, but he was aware of the enemy in his presence. He struggled to get up to his feet. But was shocked by the lightning cage that slowly grew smaller around him. He howled in pain. He tried to concentrate and summon something...anything to keep this cage from closing upon him, but he was too weak. Too drained. He looked at Syd through the cage. "Syd....don't..." He wheezed lowly. He could barely keep upright and the cage was growing ever smaller.

araeno HIKHICTER I thought you'd learn.
A little slaughter here, a little over there. - Araeno, Hikari, Noktal, Sin, Sydney, Indrid, and Alastor

Araeno had been having fun, though admittedly this had been in his list of ideas. Though this was simply on a larger scale, even though there were few opponents capable of surviving even a single blow from him. Those he had left alone, Noktal and the others appeared to be taking care of them. It was when Noktal started to change forms that Araeno appeared beside him.

"I don't think that'll ever get old, my lord." Araeno said with a smile, watching this girl that he was apparently trying to recruit. Before hand, Araeno had been picking off people trying to run away. But now, one of the four devils could be making history. Araeno wanted to watch, though he silently questioned Noktal's motives for wanting this girl. Did she have a unique power that Araeno missed? Perhaps he wanted a pet, or someone to torture, or study, or even all of the above.

(And I always miss stuff thanks to my siblings.)

((Goddammit! My internet died in the middle of putting up a finished post in reply to yours Twi-Lyte! crying And then I come back in the morning and I find that now the demons are trying to recruit Syd!? What the heck!? lmao XD Oh well, I guess I'll have to edit my extremely long post from before to account for what's changed. lol))

Syd was also slicing through demons when the ground started shaking from what Sin was doing. It threw her a little off balance because it surprised her, but she got it back quickly. She turned around to look over at Sin and realized he was about to try something. When she saw the wave of water he had summoned, it clicked what Sin was trying to do and Syd took to the air again to avoid getting crushed by the wave with the demons as they were rushed back into the portal.

As soon as the wave was gone along with the horde of demons, Syd looked down at Sin, who was still down on the ground. He had collapsed to his knees. Syd dropped down to land on the ground near Sin. She hurried over when she saw him fall over onto his side. However, before she could get there to check that he was still alive, one of the Demon Generals landed on the ground near her. She instantly ground her run to a halt, raising her katana up defensively.

When she heard what Noktal asked of her, the look on Sydney's face gave away her anger. The added presence of Araeno didn't quite help her mood at all. She glanced over briefly at Sin as he cried out in pain from the lightening cage, begging her not to do what the demon's were asking of her. 'Dammit! Why the hell are they trying to recruit me!? Now of all friggin' times!? I can't believe they'd even TRY!' Syd thought. A rather astounding confident smirk came to her lips at the last thought. And slowly, right in the presence of Noktal, Araeno, and Sin, Syd began to laugh.

"You can't believe how many times I've heard that kind of threat!" Sydney finally said through her laughter. Of course, she was lying. Syd had never been threatened with death for both her and her friends for not joining a particular side. But she wasn't about to let on that she was indeed lying. "Is this what you came here for? All this way just to recruit little old me? You've got to be kidding me!" Syd laughed a little out loud at the mere thought. What did she have that could possibly interest Noktal? It did make her wonder.

While she was laughing, Syd looking over at the en-caged Sin. As much as she hated the demons, she hated the thought of losing people close to her even more. That didn't just mean Sin. It also went for any of the other members of the Regiment: Indrid, Alastar, Eris, and even the Halfbreed. But maybe if she did agree to switch sides, this might be a break that the Regiment was looking for. If she did 'join up' with the demons Horde, Sydney could watch their movements from there. And if the time ever presented itself, she could try to kill one of the generals.

"Tell me, Little Demons. What do you guys expect to accomplish by recruiting me anyway?" Syd asked, her laughter stopping abruptly as she returned her attentions to Noktal and Araeno. She was going to hate herself later for putting on a farce for the demons...

((Holy crap! The post is even longer than it was originally!!!! O_o))

Noktal laughed at the brave face she was putting on. He was a Devil, a master of lies and deception. A cambion trying to lie when mostly she told the truth was beyond hilarious.
"Don't be so arrogant child. I did not come solely to recruit you. I came to slaughter the Half-Breed, and find those with the power to aid us. We wish to end this war. It has dragged on for far too long now. With your help, we can find a way to end this simply, and to better the world. Join now, or I will kill your friends, and leave you to live with the guilt knowing you killed them." Noktal raised his hand with the black lightning, causing another cage to drop on all remaining survivors struggling to stay concious and fight. The Greater Demons that survived the flood had stopped fighting. While the fresh ones tried to kill the wounded, it was the veterans that stopped them. They knew Noktal when he was in control. He only casted the black lightning when his bloodlust was over. Indeed, even in his speed form, the scythes had vanished leaving him standing with his eyes closed, and a soft smile on his face.
"Come with me now, and I promise you, we will not attack the Regiment again, so long as you swear fealty to Lord Grathrym. I will show you the kindness demons are capable of. The angels have lied to you all. They seek not to 'save the world' but rather, to destroy it and remake it in their image. Take my hand child, and I will leave here peacefully." Noktal had lowered his hand, and offered the other towards her. His words were soft and caressing. Noktal was a Devil, but he had studied human emotions for an eternity. He knew what emotions were the best to use when convincing another. And he had the sorrow, the kindness, the conviction of truth all set to a perfect tone. He wanted this Cambion. She was obviously strong, and her healing ability was something he needed. She would also be fun to protect.

Sydney rolled her eyes at Noktal. "Oh come off your high horse, Idiot. I was being sarcastic when I said all that about you coming here to recruit me. I'm not stupid." She knew that making a deal with a Devil was a stupid idea. Everything this man was saying now could be a lie. For all Syd knew, even if she did swear her loyalty to Grathrym, Noktal might just kill her friends anyway. Kindness from a demon or a devil was only if you were doing as you were told. Their 'Kindness' was a double edged sword in every sense of the word.

"It's not like I'm already living with the guilt of friends that have already died because of me!" Syd snapped, her eyes narrowed on Noktal. That was actually not a lie. Syd was indeed already living with the guilt of knowing that the nuns that had helped to raise her were killed by Angels just because they took her in.

Hidohr dy dni pemi ryz Grathrym had set up a demonic mental link with Noktal when he had visited the Regiment base. He had then left knowing that talking to Noktal while he was in his bloodlust was pointless. After he comunicated he grabbed a bag of scrolls and set it on fire. The black flame carried the ashes all the way to the Garthora and reapeared infront of Noktal.

(Whats creepy is that Noktal isn't lying. Trust no one friends.)

Indrid sat up in the infirmary. Well, he tried to. His neck was in a ton of pain but it was bandaged and his skin didn't look almost completely white anymore. He looked at Alastor, he didn't know if he had it worse then he did. He couldn't see his bandages.

"Alastor? Are you alright?"

The lightning cage grew smaller and smaller around Sin. He knew if he didn't do something soon, that he'd soon be killed. He had a little energy, but not enough to break the hold. But enough to move him. He focused and slowly felt his body slip away. The teleportation was slow, but he managed to pull it off and he teleported a few feet away and a foot off the ground. He landed on his stomach with a thud and let out a pained grunt. He was doing too much. He'd die if he kept using the way he did. But he couldn't stay in that cage and be killed like that..not like that.

The lycan gave no answer. It seemed as though he was dead, though his breath was very shallow. His body was bandaged and a patch was covering hsi right eye. Just by looking at it, it could cause the fear that he might not be able to see out of it anymore, much less come out of his deep slumber. He was now prisoner of his own mind until his body was rested enough to sustain him again, whether he liked it, or even realized it, or not. In one's mind, depending on how they lived, there was more to be afraid than the shadows.

Much more...

((Sorry, he isn't waking up for a while...))

((Oh... I feel sort of useless after cooking all day... Sorry I'm so late >.<))
J'valia looked at the carnage going on around her. People constantly being hurt...All of these people, fighting, and very obviously loosing the war.

She saw Syd, being talked to, threatened, but yet the girl was holding her own. While j'valia was supposed to be one pf the strongest people ever, she felt so... wesk... she should have let her self be trained, taught herself discipline.... but until now, she hadn't ever really cared.

She looked around. She was confused...What could she do?

((It's alright, dearie. Things are starting to die down...sorta...))

Sin looked up and saw that J'valia was still in the air above them. Looking over all the carnage that lay before them. He raised up his hand towards her, hoping to get her attention. He couldn't stay on the battlefield. He'd surely die if he did. He was practically dead already. Help...He thought. Help me...J'valia...
