Masaki picked up his kunai and sat down by the water. He ran his hand through it as he watched the others fight. Somehow, the water kept his mind quieter, and he was able to sit still and be patient. more training would come... Still, he would much prefer it to come sooner than later. His mind began to wander, he thought about all he had learned of mokuton and how it worked. He wished that he could use it, it would be a very useful skill, being able to manipulate wood. especially since it was so rare... and unexpected. What should he choose as a weapon? Perhaps a sword? but that could end things too quickly... sometimes it might be necessary to kill, but he wanted something less quick. Fighting was nothing if both participants didnt have a chance to grow... right? Perhaps he could design a weapon to do both? he understood all the necessary information. He could make a sword that was only sharp when he told it to. He tucked a mental note aside for later, he would wait until tonight to start that project.

Kaizen clapped his hands once, then again before saying in a tone almost bordering on teasing, though it still seemed as if the words were empty of any true emotion. "Very good, I'm glad that you are at least intelligent enough to realize when not to use a technique. Many of the techniques you learn throughout your training as a shinobi will be techniques meant to be used under specific conditions. You do not use a hammer to accomplish every task, sometimes it requires saw, and sometimes it requires a wrench. I will provide you with tools, it is your job to figure out when to use them. Now, you still have another jutsu to learn."

As Kaizen turned away to approach Masaki once more, he raised an eyebrow at the man in front of him, it was strange that anyone would be able to get into this room after it had been shifted to a different setting, but that was of little importance. Kaizen's hollow gaze met that of the man, almost seeming to look past him before saying in his listless voice, "If you are here to learn, I can teach you, though if you have not seen the Mizukage yet, you will want to do so after we are through." Forming a few hand-seals, Kaizen said calmly "Mizu Soujuu." A small puddle of water began to float from the nearby river, forming an orb of water in the air in front of him.

(Well, as someone just learning the technique kuro, it would be difficult to mold your chakra without hand-seals the first time, which is why i asked you to perform them, but it doesn't really matter at this point.)



Kaizen nodded to Damien before letting the ball of ice fall to the ground with a thump. Glancing at Hana and Ginshiro as they both finished, Kaizen said, "If you two are finished then you can help Damien here, it will help reinforce the techniques for you and it will help get us all finish a little more quickly." With that Kaizen turned back towards Masaki, his hand reaching behind his back to reach into his scroll case, leafing through the many scrolls until he found the one he was looking for. Stopping in front of Masaki, Kaizen said in his usual empty tone, "You claimed to be able to use both the element of Suiton and Doton, well then let's test that shall we."

Opening the scroll he had pulled from his holster, Kaizen began to read the first technique, "The Tsuchi Gunjikoudou no Jutsu allows one to submerge themselves into the very earth and move about as if it were water, a useful technique when setting up an ambush, or to avoid an attack." Glancing up at Masaki, Kaizen set down the scroll before lifting his hands to his chest forming a single hand-sign as he let his chakra flow throughout his body, letting it fill him. As his chakra began to take on the properties of Doton, Kaizen's eyes began to change once more, a brown pigment spreading from the center of his eyes until it filled them completely, leaving two dark brown orbs.

"Tsuchi Gunjikoudou no Jutsu," Kaizen said his voice taking on a slightly hard edge. Suddenly he could feel himself sinking into the earth, slowly at first but then picking up speed until he was completely submerged. It was a strange sensation, he was somehow able to see above the surface, as if the earth were glass, but he could not see more than a few feet in front of him. Moving forward, Kaizen moved beneath Masaki's feet, and past him before rising once more to stand behind his student. "Your turn."

Downer glanced curiously at the young girl showing him the jutsu sigh....if i was but a few years younger... he thought absently. He dismissed the thought just as quickly as it came. Stretched his back a little bit, than his fingers flashed as he mimicked her handseals. "Mizu Bunshin" he said calmly. Suddenly, the water the girl had used for her clone rose back up, looking like a mirror image of him this time. They glanced at each other for a second, than he hit the clone in the chest, instantly disrupting the clone and causing it to fall into a pool.

Masaki listened carfully to the instructions. "Tsuchi Gunjikoudou no Jutsu, sounds rough." He commented. He had always felt Doton matched him a little better. While Suiton was indeed flexible, Doton was persistent and can push through almost everything. Masaki stood, and performed the demonstrated seal, and then concentrated on his chakra. Like for the Suiton jutsu, he would first need to single out his Doton chakra. It only took a moment or two, the Doton chakra had a very distinct feel. It was very different from the Suiton chakra, almost opposite. Masaki noted that it had disadvantages too. While Suiton could go on endlessly despite the barriers in the way, Doton would stop at the first obstacle that could stand up to it.
As Masaki concentrated on the Doton chakra, it became more and more prominent. Soon, his body was taking on the traits of Doton, and he felt himself melting into the ground. "Tsuchi Gunjikoudou no Jutsu" He said loudly, and then allowed the earth to take him in. He took a deep breathe as his head went under the ground, only to find the earth didn't seem to inhibit his ability to breathe... somehow. He looked up, and was looking at the feet of the other trainees and smiled. He was indeed becoming strong. He swam throught the earth, and then rose back to the same spot, this time facing his sensei. He waited quietly for the next lesson.
