Rosepetal could feel the tears in her eyes as she lay next to the great TwilightClan leader. This was her friend since kithood, and she had always thought highly of her.
Pebblestar's eyes flew wide open and she looked widly about until she spotted Rosepetal and Shadowfrost near her. She had to tell of the prophecy, she must!
"TwilightClan . . . was never meant to be!" she sputtered. Suddenly a painful snap sounded, and the blood stopped pounding in her ears. She couldn't see anymore, and she couldn't breathe. Without the ability to control herself, she flopped back, her eyes staring. She could see shadows, they were coming for her. Bright light drifted down to her, as if trying to capture her before the darkness did.
The light won, and slowly she felt herself being lifted, like a mother would carry her kit, and she left the world behind.
Rosepetal stared in horror as Pebblestar convulsed and spat out the words. There was an audible snap, and the great she-cat went limp. Her eyes now stared sightlessly, but Rosepetal was too horrified by the scene to move and close them.

Shadowfrost's eyes widened. What did Pebblestar mean? Of course TwilightClan was meant to be! He dipped his head, and nodded to Rosepetal. "Let's bring her back to camp."

((No! she died!!!!! So sad!!! *tears*))
Stormflight yowled in surprise and rolled onto her back, smushing Orangepaw. As the voice replayed in her head, she stood up quickly, ruffling up her fur. She purred in amusement. "Oh, Orangepaw," she sighed happily, placing a paw atop the young cat's head. She looked over at Daypaw who'd mimicked her move. She nodded approvingly. "Good," she meowed, but froze. Something wasn't right. She scented blood!
Hissing a warning, she padded quickly toward the scent. She continued on, making sure the other apprentices were following her. She caught view of Shadowfrost and Rosepetal standing over something. She shot a questioning glance, but it froze to her face as she recognized who they were standing over.
"Pebblestar!" the deputy yowled in fright. She dashed to her leader's bloody body. She began rapidly licking the body, not feeling a heartbeat. She turned to Rosepetal. "Is she dead?" she asked worriedly, hoping she was only losing a life.

"All five of her remaining lives . . . They're all gone. She . . . She was bleeding from the inside, there were no puncture wounds." Rosepetal reported. Her dead gaze rested on the TwilightClan deputy. "You. You will be the new leader of the Clan that was never meant to be.
Orangepaw stood, her eyes wide in horror to see Pebblestar dead. It was just as Silverstar had said. She looked at Daypaw, "Cover for me, there's somewhere I must be."
She darted away towards the WillowClan border.
"Yes of course," Daypaw mewed distantly. She couldn't believe it. What could strip a leader of their lives in one blow?
((Ha ha, sound like Kingdom Hearts and the Nobodies? The World That Never Was, The Clan That Never Was. It's funny because I actually took some KH Nobodies and made them into the original TwilightClan warriors in my original fanfiction. Sorry if that doesn't make any sense.))

Stormflight felt her blood run cold. Clan that was never to be? She turned to Rosepetal, but stopped herself from asking. "I can't run a Clan!" She gasped scaredly. She felt her eyes begin to water with sadness and she looked up at the sky. She let out a mournful yowl. "What will I do without you?" she murmered. "Why did you leave me?"

"Stormflight, you must be strong." Rosepetal meowed to the frantic deputy. She looked around an noticed that there was only one apprentice. "Wasn't Orangepaw with you?"

Stormflight nodded distantly. "I can't do it, I can't" she meowed. Then, what Rosepetal said sunk in. She looked around frantically. "Orangepaw!" She meowed. She padded in the direction of her scent. Soon enough, she realized in horror that she was heading toward DewRocks. She looked across the WillowClan border and she gazed in shock. Two bodies were lying on the border. It was Orangepaw, and another apprentice she didn't recognize.
Stormflight padded quickly to the two. They were dead! "Rosepetal!" she yowled frantically.

Rosepetal ran over to Stormflight and sniffed at the two young cats.
"I-I don't get it. There isn't a scratch on them!" she wailed.

Stormflight stared wide-eyed at the two bodies. She looked up at the sky. "Why is StarClan doing this?" she asked.

Rosepetal began to wrack her brain for an answer, anything at all. When suddenly she froze. She looked at Stormflight, "You've got to speak with StarClan immediately! Shadowfrost, take care of the dead cats. Come on Stormflight!"
She charged away, worry guiding her paws. Was it just that TwilightClan was never meant to be, or was it that the Clans were never meant to be?
((How's this for a faster moving plot? XD))

((I thought Pebblestar told Darkpaw she was on her last life?))
Darkpaw sniffed the air, waking up. Blood! He raced off to where he scented it, and found Shadowfrost staring at dead bodies. "Shadowfrost! What happened?" He mewed. He looked down, to see if he could recognize the bodies. Pebblestar! He collapsed to the ground, sobbing.
