A hand slipped into hers, and pulled her gently but firmly across the room. Allowing herself to follow its lead, Pippa kept her head turned, her eyes unblinking and trained upon Aisha. The small girl looked slightly lonely, but only for a second; with lightning speed, she had sidled up to the girl with white hair and appeared to ask her something. A second later, Pippa's view was obscured by a wall of honey coloured oak, and she was distracted by the realisation that she was being taken up a flight of stairs. Stumbling slightly, she hurried to keep up. The floorboards were the same shade of aged brown as the walls, and covered with a thin layer of settled dust; each individual stair groaned slightly when stepped upon, as if unwillingly resigned to a life spent under many a stranger's feet. As she lifted her head again, Pippa recognised the hand leading hers as belonging to the man with black wings...
Ryu. That was what the man behind the counter had called him; perhaps it was his name, but then again, perhaps it was a nickname, or an alias. After a quick bout of reasoning, Pippa decided not to address him by it should he take offence for some reason; instead, she contented herself with watching the feathers upon his shoulders ruffle slightly as he lead her further and further up the staircase.
