Shaking, he sighed. That was too close. Having witnessed the monster disappearing, he decided to move back towards the basement until he felt it was safe to move around the mansion again. He made his way back to the door, not stopping for anything.

Isadora nodded her head to Melethia before watching the dragoness left. The paladin went back to her seat and picked up her bowl and continued her meal. While she continued drinking, she began to think through her strategy of how to get her comrades and herself out.
It was obvious that they couldn't take FEFGA's manor back. Not with Mika, the Heroes, and who knew how many morphs were there. In addition, it seemed that they had no weapons to fight against them too. So it seemed that escaping this place was the only option. And once escape, they would go to the castle to reunite with their comrades and fight back.
When she finished her meal, she got up to wash the bowl. But before she could leave the room, she heard Castello informing about going to sleep. Sleep...... Maybe when Mika and the Heroes were sleeping, it could be their chance to escape. Not only that, but also maybe her opportunity to get her sword back from the raven laguz. But where should he sleep?
Isadora would deal with that minor detail later. Right now, she had to find her comrades and inform them that they had to escape immediately. The morphs she would be able to handle it with her sword and shield. But what about the others? If they had weapons, it would be good for them to help her defeat the morphs and escape. Now the question was how?
Just as she walked down the hall, she felt a huge breeze followed by the sounds of the footsteps. Looking up, she saw nothing. She blinked. What in St. Elimine happened? She wondered. Surely, something was strange in this manor.
She would investigate to see what it was. However, she decided against it and continued walking to the kitchen. She needed to get her shield, talk to the others about escaping, and get her sword back before escaping.... If only she knew how to escape without the Heroes and Mika to notice.

Melethia started humming and singing a few notes while she was taking her bath. It was her way of saying she was in the bathroom. She felt so relaxed and the blood was washing off of her body.

When he had reached a hallway that was closer to the basement, he stopped. If he went back now, he couldn't be very much help. I have to stay.
He decided to try wait until people were asleep, then go look for that girl he recognized. The blonde one. But where to find her?

" Maybe that's the reason why" "You can't ever fly..." Cαsτειιo "Take away the blue..." ______________ Castello had successfully managed to avoid hearing any of the noise. He meant what he said when he announced his intent to sleep. Up in the cleanest, freshest-looking guest room, he had zonked right out on the bed as soon as he had removed his clothing. All except his amulet, which stayed around his neck while he lay face-down, hugging his pillow gently against his pointed ear and breathing softly. He was too sexy to snore.

Amelia found her back going rigid at the sudden noises of combat coming from the hallway. What in the name of-- had the heroes started to fight in the house? She cast her eyes around the room. Most were eating here, so unless the morphs had come in and started to spat... Amelia looked back to her food. Suddenly she didn't feel quite hungry, especially as the house went quiet again.
"I'm going to get some rest," Amelia murmured to Rhys. She used her napkin for a moment, just to make sure, and gave Rhys a kiss on the cheek before placing her bowl in the sink. She smiled gratefully to Kyros, then hurried out of the room. Get some sleep... She headed for the stairs, ready to get up to her room and try to figure out some way to figure out what was going on outside.

Just finished with his second bowl of soup, Rhys had finally taken his fill. He didn't do it often, but when he was healthy and had a mind to it, he could eat as much as anyone!
An after-dinner kiss from Amelia, and he needed nothing more. "Okay. Good night," he called out after her. He supposed he may as well go to his room too, though he didn't need to sleep, at least not quite yet. It wasn't THAT late, after all, and if they were going to be kept prisoner, staying up late might teach him a few things about what he could and could not do.
What he wanted to do, rather, was plan his next course of action.
It was impossible NOT to hear the fight on this floor, but... no blood, from where he looked. Perhaps Soren was doing something to resist these intruders? Or had he been captured as well?
And on that note... was there anyplace in this manor where they could meet in private? He supposed there WAS the secret passage--he'd taken a moment to memorize just where he'd closed the passage door, after all. But then again, Mika had most likely been down there, and if she found anyone down there, they were good as dead. He'd seen nothing in the passage that implied there was anything more after that room...
But then again, he hadn't had much time to look...
He then went to the library, deciding on a next move. If I'm going to risk looking down there, he supposed, I might as well study beforehand...

Melethia got out of the bathroom. She had a smile on her face. She was now in a different outfit. (aka her avatar) "Ah." She said,"That is MUCH better. I feel fresh as a daisy. Time to eat something." She made her way to the kitchen.

Neros was back in the attic, wearing the human cowl again. It made him feel better. There was no real particular reason as to why; it just did. It kept his mind off of how tired he was and off of the fact that he seemed to be an attention-thirsty leechling. He lightly tugged it down on his head, staring at the ceiling with eyes devoid of emotion. All the passion had drained away after that day's events.
He spent perhaps a good half hour simply staring at the blackened ceiling. Then a squeak attracted his ear and he turned his head to see a creature in the corner. The large irises of his eyes flashed a nocturnal green as he fixed a rat in his gaze, a plump creature that must have been thriving in the attic next to him for some time. Which was funny, as he did not quite recall having any neighbors beside the villagers he collected for experimentation and sustenance.
It occurred to him that the critter had discovered a pool of some thick substance, the remnants of a villager he had dissolved alive. The rat poked around, sniffing at the puddle momentarily before gobbling it up. Neros quirked an eyebrow. He hadn't considered how the puddle would have tasted to vermin. To himself, it really depended on whomever was dissolved, what they had in their stomach and such... Usually the taste wasn't a noble one. But this flea-infested animal seemed to like it.
Neros watched the rat further, falling away from his own apathy and weariness. He observed this simple creature scavenging right from his own reserves, scraping out a living with whatever it could find, no matter how low or filthy.
"Omnomnom," he quietly said, amused by the rat's frantic little whiskers and paws.

•I bear the seed of ruin… •A golden age turned to stone… вєαѕтмιѕтяєѕѕ єѴєℓYη Sometimes I wonder why they need me at all! … For this, a tragic journey• … A vision of a dying embrace• Evelyn sighed as used a wet clothe to clean not only the blood off her leg, but the dirt from her face. Triumph had really helped make a mess of her. He was supposed to be her mount, her loyal companion, and even a pet. The Gwyllgi best start acting like it if he didn’t wish to go without dinner. Evelyn knew he was happy to be back with everyone, but that didn’t mean he had to revert to his old ways from before she started training him. Well, being apart for a few hundred years might have something to do with it, but Evelyn didn’t care for that excuse.
”Aye aye,” she mumbled to herself as she carelessly tossed the dirty clothe aside. If someone wanted it cleaned, they could do it for her, but Evelyn had better things to do. After making her way down the stair, the Beastmistress wandered over to the ‘father’ of the group. ”Soup, huh?” Looked harmless enough and it wasn’t like the man would try to poison them with some weird man’s liver or something when this was the first meal he had made in centuries. ”Thanks,” she said quite carelessly, as she snatched one of the bowls off the plate and began to greedily devour the concoction. Best keep one’s energy up, and not skip out on the meals. Never know when a good fight could happen, and Evelyn sure was itching for one. Nothing was better than a battle to put the shear destructive power of her tome to use after all.

Melethia was now in the kitchen. She wasn't all up for the soup that was made. It wasn't spicy. Melethia loved her spicy food unless it was strawberries. She started getting stuff to make some yellow curry. It was one of her favorite things to eat. She started cooking up her curry.
"Yum I haven't had this in a while." She told herself as she made it.

As Isadora entered the kitchen, she noticed that Melethia was in the kitchen cooking some food. I guess there wasn't enough soup. Isadora thought as she went to the kitchen sink and washed it. It was quiet for a minute or two before Isadora dried the bowl and put it away. It was then that she went to Melethia and whispered.
"Melethia, if you see Amelia and Rhys, tell them we need a place to talk in private. I don't know if Mika is planning to have us as captives or not."
She didn't had the chance to hear Melethia's reply as she left the kitchen. She knew that the dragoness would be curious as to what she was talking about Mika. However, the paladin knew that she would inform Amelia and Rhys about this. Right now, she had to find her shield and get her sword back.
Isadora climbed up to the stairs where she saw her shield leaning against the rail. Good. Isadora thought as she snatched her shield and slided it over her arm. It felt good having her shield back. Having her sword and shield gone while the enemy was around made her feel vulnerable and naked. Now she needed was her sword.
But where is he sleeping? Isadora thought as she walked quietly in the hallway. She knew that the Heroes below didn't care what she did as long as she didn't cause any trouble to them. However, if she wanted her sword, she had to be quiet. Isadora went to the closest door and opened it softly.
Empty bedroom. No, not it. Isadora thought as she closed the door gently. She went to the next door and opened it. Empty study room. Not this one. Isadora went to the next room. Another empty bedroom.
Where could he be? Isadora thought as she checked into the next room. The room was dark and she noticed some garments on the floor. In addition, she heard a soft breathing coming from the bed.
Bingo. Isadora thought as she slid into the room and made the door close with little opening. She didn't want the raven laguz to wake up by the lights, but she also needed it to see where the door was. Carefully and very slowly, Isadora went to his pile of garment, trying not to make her armor create a sound. She used her other arm to move around, trying to feel her scabbard or hilt of her sword.
Please don't let it be hung by the bedpost or by the nightstand. She prayed to St. Elimine as she tried to find her sword. It was not easy finding her weapon in the dark, especially with a person sleeping in the same room. Little impatient, she decided to separate the pile with one cloth at a time.
She slowly lifted the cloth, making sure she would feel the weight of her sword and making sure that her sword didn't went thump if she did lift it. The first one wasn't, so she placed it on one side. The second was a little heavy, but so far no sword. As she lifted the third cloth, she felt something heavy was about to slid off. She quickly lowered it down.
Find it! Isadora thought as she moved her hand to the sword. She felt the cold, smooth, and hard surface of her hilt as she slowly lifted it upward. With her sword pointed up, Isadora slowly rose up to stand. She couldn't help but let out a smirk. Now that I feel whole again, I need to get out of this room quietly.

As Melethia was finishing up her curry. She was wondering what Isadora had told her. She vaguely remembered Mika from Halloween. If she remembered right. She was Madriana's sister. She didn't like Madriana and was glad she was dead. So in her mind, she kinda figured that Mika was bad news. What Isadora said made it quite clear to her.
As she ate her curry Melethia started to form up a plan. As far as she knew Mika didn't know who Melethia was. So that would be an advantage to her. She had to make sure she didn't mess up. If something went wrong with her plan it would cause alot of problems later.
Once Melethia finshed her curry meal she cleaned up her mess. After cleaning up Melethia walked to her room. Most people wouldn't know where it was. It was the room in one of the far corners of the manor. Once in her room she grabbed a book. It looked like a normal book, but in reality it was a fire tome. It just had a cover that wouldn't make alot of people think it wasn't a tome. She walked back out of the room and roamed around looking to see if there was something she could find out, that would help Isadora, Amelia, Rhys, or herself.

" Maybe that's the reason why" "You can't ever fly..." Cαsτειιo "Take away the blue..." ______________ "Skn-k," said the raven, inhaling sharply with his nose and half his mouth pressed to his pillow. Then he swallowed once and let out a long, slow sigh, settling back down. The light hadn't even fazed him, the sound of the sword being lifted barely seemed to register with the sleeping bird. "Hfmunuh," he murmured, then shivered a bit, twisting and thrashing among the covers.
"N-nnnnn," he moaned, dragging his fingernails along the sheets as though clawing, digging, trying to get through, them, and then he settled with a soft groan of "N-nnnoooo..." He twisted and squirmed, rolling onto his back and tangling himself in the covers, then sat bolt-upright, drenched in a cold sweat, and stared straight at Isadora.
"Not the basement," he whispered pleadingly. "Not... not that... I'll be..." He closed his eyes and dropped back to the bed again, his head lolling to the side as he continued to whimper in the feverish nightmares that had plagued his five-hundred year sleep.
The nightmares that had always plagued him. The memories he would give anything to forget.

Smirking at her small victory of retrieving her sword, it was time for her to leave. But before slowly turn half-way around, she heard a mutter. She froze in her position, trying not to make a sound.
As much as she wished that the room was dark, she knew that there was a small flick of light shining out from the door frame. She prayed to St. Elimine that the raven laguz wasn't a light sleeper. Who knew what would happen if he was.
Soft murmur later turned in harsh and frightening. She figured that Castello was having a nightmare. What was it? She didn't know nor want to know what it was about. Right now, she prayed that it was a small nightmare, him going back to slumberland, and get the flux out of there.
She then noticed the thrashing and twisting of the body under the cover. It wasn't a nightmare. It was a night terror. The paladin pressed her lips firmly. This is not what the paladin liked. As much as she wished to calm the salvage beast to sleep, she was afraid that he would wake up and wondered why she was in his room.
Suddently, she nearly jumped when she saw Castello bolted up and stared right at her. Flux! Isadora's mind later went into blank as she stared back with wide and frightening eyes like a deer frozen still by the blinding light. She was caught. She was spotted. What was he going to do to her? Even with her sword and shield, she was caught off guard by that sudden movement. Then....... she heard him pleading.
"Wha....." Isadora suddenly regained her voice softly as she stared at Castello with a curious look now. What was it about the basement? Did he knew about The Door? What was it that frighten him about the basement?
Before she could ask him about the basement, she noticed that he closed his eyes and fell back. Whimper soon followed. The paladin stood in her place for a minute or two before realization hit on her. He..... He didn't see me? She thought.
How could it be? He was staring at her, dead on in the eyes. But then.... Maybe he didn't know she was there and thought it was nothing but a shadow. Relief slowly flooded over her body as she let out a breath. That was so close. Isadora thought.
Relieved that the raven laguz didn't see her, she slowly turned around and walked quietly to the door. But before she could open the door, she couldn't help hearing his whimper. The whimpering cried of wanting the night terror to go away. The cry of help of wanting the bad dream go away.
Isadora lowered her head and let out a long sigh. Cursing her concern, she slowly bended down to place her sword and shield next to the door frame before removing her armor. She didn't know why she would concern for the enemy, but she couldn't bare see him in pain. This was why she hated being dubbed the guild mother and letting her guilt took over her after killing her enemies. It were her concern and worry that were her weakness. No matter whether the person was her ally or enemy, her concern always got the best of her. Having that made her looked weak to the eyes.........
And yet, it had also shown how compassion she was toward others, even to the enemy.
Now freed from her armor to move around faster, she quietly walked to the dresser where there was a basin fulled of water and a bowl. She poured the water into the bowl and took the towel next to the bowl to dip it. Isadora then squeezed the water out of the towel before heading to the bed where Castello was having troubled sleeping.
She then gently pulled his face to make him face toward the ceiling before placing the cold towel over his forehead. Not knowing if this would work or not, she sang out a soft lullaby that she heard from her mother when she was a child before going to sleep.
"Sleep my child and peace attend thee, All through the night. Guardian angels She will send thee, All through the night. Soft the drowsy hours are creeping, Hill and vale in slumber sleeping, I my loving vigil keeping, All through the night. While the moon her watch is keeping All through the night. While the weary world is sleeping All through the night. O'er the spirit gently stealing, Visions of delight revealing, Breathes a pure and holy feeling, All through the night."
She wasn't sure how long she would keep up with this. She wasn't sure if Castello would know if she was in his room, hearing his nightmare that plagued his mind. She wasn't even sure would the others wonder where she was. All she knew was that her concern and worry took the best out of her...... So much of sneaking out with her weapons.
