"You seem awfully defensive," noted Texas, quirking a brow. "And you didn't answer one of the first questions, either. What are you? And be honest, you're definitely no Pae'il I've ever seen before."

He glanced back to Kane, almost tempted to take him up on this 'hanging-the-child-by-the-hoof' idea; maybe it would scare him into talking. It showed in his eyes, but he wasn't about to say it--that wasn't exactly the nicest thing to do to a child, but then again, this may not necessarily be a case for niceness if the child was hiding something rather important from them. The demonic then turned back to Faroth, hoping he would just give him a straight-forward answer.

Pastela's eyes widened into the size of dish plates as she saw the ravine. "Sweet honeysuckle, that's a deep pit...." Slowly her grip on Woobie's arm loosened and she let go, wandering over to the edge of the ravine in pure curiosity. She bit her lip as she felt her stomach begin to drop, then began to edge away, her wings spread out to keep her balance so that she wouldn't fall. "That's a really really deep pit....."

((No worries, Faye. I figured it just got overlooked. ^_^ ))

Takeko smiled, nodding at Alaera. She wasn't sure how to take the comment about Kane, but now wasn't exactly the time to ask, she supposed. They had more important matters to discuss it seemed.

"That is...an interesting theory, but..." She seemed alarmed. "Even if it were an egg of some sort...I'm not sure even magical squirrels would come from eggs...but if it were, do you really think that shaking it would be such a good idea?"

---

Devyn blinked, puzzled by the response, or at least the sudden cursing, especially that aimed at the stream. Stepping out, hand resting on a tree trunk, he caught sight of the female...stomping about in the water? "Wasn't trying to play anything," he commented, unaware that he probably appeared only as a bright green blur against a lot more green here in the forest.

Running a hand through his dark hair, he watched the female curiously for a moment. Couldn't she see him standing here? And for that matter, why was she fussing at the stream like that when she'd walked straight into it?

Still, even when confused and groggy, he was still a gentleman...at least when a pretty lady was concerned. He stepped closer, extending an arm. "Need a hand there?"

---

Texas had missed the most important slip from the child's own admission earlier: he wasn't afraid of them, but something still held sway over his words.

Faroth looked both frustrated and bewildered. "Whatdya' mean? I ain't seen nothing like you before either, and you all look different, but you claim you're the same? If you're all Pae'il, then why can't I be one too? 'Izzit some kinda' special club and you're not gonna' let me in?"

He pouted again, arms crossed. Adults were no different than kids, they just claimed they were, while acting the same. Makin' clubs and not lettin' other people join just 'cause they said so. Wasn't right. He'd make his own club...and none of them could join it, 'cause he said so. And it'd be the best club ever anywhere.

His childish mind had latched onto the odd stray thought and run away with it completely. He seemed to have even forgotten what he'd gotten himself into here and that he needed to come up with an escape plan as soon as possible.

Kane yawned, leaning over and resting his chin on one hand, looking idlly at the claws on his other. "Just say the word and I'll have him up a tree," he commented, seeming to vary between looking bored and amused.

"Obviously," teased Esmée, nudging Bneut in the side. She chuckled when Bneut chose to shield Fernand's eyes. The penguin vaguely nodded as well as a penguin could to show his thanks before he kept walking, while Esmée strolled along, looking around for anything else weird.

"Is it just me, or does the walk to the lake not seem as far anymore?" She could actually see the water in the distance, and considering her eyesight, that was unusual. She usually didn't pick out the blue blur until they had gotten a lot closer to it, and she didn't remember getting close to it this quickly...

"I do think you are correct. Perhaps it had something to do with that wind that is now missing? I would not doubt the possibility of a rainstorm." stated the always-formal Fernand, as he waddled towards the water just a little faster. Even if the water was strange, he would always push aside the pursuit of knowledge--albeit temporarily--for Esmée to give him some fish.

Esmée nodded. "Yeah, I bet this all was because of some kind of storm. It was very windy when we went to sleep."

------------

Magnus glanced over to Kane. "Please." It would be plenty more amusing than this back and forth.

Texas sighed lightly. No, he wasn't making a special club. Damn it, he just wanted an answer. "Faroth, why won't you just answer the questions?" There had to be a reason this child was being so resistent. He was definitely not calm, in fact, he seemed oddly defensive and was definitely avoiding answering his questions for what might've been an actual reason.

While the demonic was a bit tired of this, he was also going to grit his teeth until he got some answers from Faroth. ...Well, either that or until Kane chased him up on the tree or something. Either one was just fine with him, though he would like to avoid the second one if at all possible...

Texas looked back down at his weird blue, white, and purple acorn to make sure it was doing nothing else odd before glancing back up to Faroth. If he didn't answer soon, he was going to start guessing himself. Pae'il hadn't always existed, right? Maybe this was just a new type or something. And maybe this acorn was linked to that! See, Texas was already getting more answers...

But he still wanted the kid to talk. Texas came back to reality and stared down the child.

Shaken out of his wandering thoughts, Faroth blinked and stared back at Texas. Guy didn't give up did he? Still, had to respect that...even if it was annoying. And completely inconvenient for Faroth. The child fidgeted, realizing that things were looking worse and worse for him. He wasn't likely to ever get away from these things at this rate.

Finally, giving in if only a little, he looked away, grumbling, "...can't."

Swiftly, Kane's hand shot out and wrapped around the child's ankle, claws hidden, of course. He was just a child...if snarky. He started to lift the kid upside-down, his weight nothing to the feline demon. "Can't? 'Cause you're a stubborn little brat or 'cause...YEOWWW!" In lifting the kid towards eye-level, Kane had suddenly gotten a faceful of Faroth's free hoof.

The resulting yowl from the demon was loud enough to half-deafen and the child immediately scrambled away when dropped. Despite his earlier showdown with the brown demon, he shot behind Texas, peeking out hesitantly at Kane. "No! 'Cause I can't!"

Kane snarled, still clutching his nose. Those damn hooves were like frickin' rocks! "Forget what he is! He's damn devil spawn! That's what he is! Devil spawn straight from hell!" He ranted for a bit before sinking back and hissing at the child while making sure his nose wasn't broken. Wouldn't be able to smell anything right for a week with his luck...

Faroth stayed where he was, surprisingly glaring at Kane rather than seeming wary of him. In a way, the child was more like a cornered animal at the moment and Kane should have recognized the signs. However, he wasn't in hunting mode while dealing with an obnoxious kid, so he hadn't noticed the similarity in behavior.

His voice wasn't steady...but quivered with emotion as he shot back at the demon, "Can't! ...'cause I'm not 'posed to be here. Wasn't s'posed to get caught..."

Alaera looked almost crestfallen. "Sure we can shake it? Even a little? Maybe tap it a bit?" Still as curious as ever she wanted to know what the acorn thing was and patience had never been one of her good traits. But she knew Takeko was right. She sighed.

"Alright, well what do you think I should do with it?" She glanced back and forth between Takeko and Ivy.

Lhia snapped around to the voice and blinking a couple more times, things cleared up even more and shapes began to have a definite outline. While she couldn't discern his exact features, she could make out that he was a demon, green in color, which was probably why she wasn't able to see him before. Eager to get out of this dreaded water, she took a step towards him, glaring back at liquid as she left.

"Sorry, I've not left the forest for some time during the time of the sun. My eyes are still adjusting to its brightness. "

And though she should have known better, she did accept his offer, reaching out with her hand for his own. As their skin connected, she felt a transference of energy, his energy, and it filled her, spreading from the fingertips of one hand all the way to the tips of the other and down to her toes. She breathed in deeply and rolled her head back, taking in the essence. It was a wonderful sensation, fulfilling her, satisfying that thing inside her and making it sleep again. There was a certain amount of flavor along with it, a strange metallic taste that reminded her of blood, which puzzled her greatly. But the taste brought her back to reality and she jerked her hand away, ashamed of what she had just done.

"Oh god. I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to. I forgot. I shouldn't have left the forest." She wanted to turn and flee back to the safety of her well but she had her dignity.

{{Hope you don't her sucking out his energy lol. she doesn't understand what she's really doing yet.}}

Magnus, the man who had hardly a concept of what the word polite even meant, broke out into impolite snickers at Kane's mishap. Once he realized the beneficial nose was now probably useless--something that took him more than a few moments--the faerie stopped laughing and offered an awkward attempt at an apologetic smile. Apologies were not his cup of tea, but he would show a vague attempt at being polite while Kane was still rather useful.

Texas felt accomplished that he had managed to stay polite enough, consistently, that Faroth decided to hide behind him instead of the two other options. "Not supposed to be here?" questioned Texas, looking over his shoulder to look at the poor boy with the quivering voice. So he was right, there was something preventing the child from talking. What was preventing him, though? What could it possibly be to scare the poor thing this badly? Most children were usually pretty bad at keeping secrets unless they had a rather good reason.

"Why? I can't imagine anyone would want to hurt you." Sure, he was an annoying little child, but for him to be that scared of something besides them made Texas' concerned side kick in. He wasn't going to have a child returning to something that was making him this nervous. "Were we not supposed to know about you? You seem like a very interesting person, Faroth." Maybe he could coax the kid into saying a bit more while Kane tended to that case of hoof-to-nose he had obtained just a few moments ago.

Those hooves did look pretty painful. What kind of Pae'il was this, anyway? A horse-tree-Pae'il thing? Was there anything in myth like that? ...Maybe a satyr? Nah, that didn't quite match up; Faroth was obviously not drunken... Texas quickly decided to not stare the child down and let Faroth respond when he wanted, even if that was slow and shakily.

As coronus headed to HQ she ran across a fimilar purple haired angle pae with bright green eyes. Sunny had been sitting in the forest for some times trying to understand what all the spirits were trying to tell her.
"Slow down I will not be able to understand what you are saying if you all talk at once." her new hat was not as good as her old hat was on helping her filter out the voices she had given her hat to her true love. and after that she had a hard time working with out it around. Her daughter Merion who was always near her mother had made a hat for her that looked like her old one but this one had a beaded band around it.
Merion: "Mom are you ok?" said the teen.
"I am ok it is just what the spirits are saying is just so confusing, They say the island is not were it used to be. that it has fallen." Sunny looked at her hands

"It's usually not this close.. Nor this color.." He agreed, looking at the leaves. Something was off. Perhaps it was the lack of wind and the sun being so far away? No that couldn't be it, the sun didn't change colors this much, it changed colors but not nearly as much as this change was.

"I believe you're right Esmee, a large storm. Though it seems weird that we missed such a large rainfall if it brought the water level up this high.." He added, flicking his tail from side to side on the path. It seemed to have grown a small amount since the last they were there.

Zuri kept himself quiet now, more focused on getting back to the water. He eventually actually let go of Waikiki Kiki's hand and ran out to the water, ignoring the itchiness and burning in favor of getting into some water he liked. The naiad breezed by Kiki's family and then dived into the lake, all too happy to get back to the lake that always had and always would be his home. The fresh water instantly felt better. Though the hives weren't exactly fading, he did seem to be more comfortable.

"Aaah..." The naiad floated on the surface of the water, closing his eyes. This was better. Fresh water, unlike salt water, wasn't some kind of toxic hive-causing poison that would eventually destroy his skin if he remained there. "This is better. The ocean's pretty, but it was really hurting," the naiad shook his head. At least the reaction wouldn't get any worse now that he was in the fresh water again. "I'd rather be here in the lake." The ocean's beach would be nice to visit sometimes, but after that adventure, he didn't think he wanted to make a habit of going out there.

Waikiki Kiki watched as Zuri let her go and went into the water. She walked slowly up to the lake's edge and then sat down. She was sorta sad. She loved the new ocean, but her one friend did not. This wasn't a happy thing in her opinion. Still, the bar and her family were here so she'd be here more often anyway.

Hula Bob's hug did make Sally feel a bit better at least and so she wrapped her arm around him and give him a half hug back hoping it would do the same for her. She pondered their predicament for a moment when inspiration hit.

Beaming broadly she turned to him and exclaimed "I know! You see I have the ability to teleport from pumpkin patch to patch so what we could do is make arrangements to have the bar transported somehow to the new beach ( sorry I don't think I can teleport something that big, maybe someone else could though ) and then I can teleport both of us to a patch that'd I'd plant near the new beach and then you wouldn't have to leave the beach at all!!" She finished rather breathless as she had said it a bit fast all in one sentence.

(Yeah, I was thinking flying it over with the relations and Jazz's power. biggrin ))

Hula Bob was happy for the hug as well. He was a cool guy, but even he needed comfort now and again. He then listened to her idea. What if that made sense...he then wouldn't have left his beach. Not physically. Still he wasn't sure. He then looked around at his beach and his lake. What if the new beach wasn't that special or the ocean's waves were as great as he had always thought. This was hard.

Eclipse turned to see that Cronous had found her way to the HQ as well. He smiled and waved to her hoping that she could see him through his darkness. Apollo was next to him so there was some light still around him.

Arvid looked to the new...er fellow that popped by first.

"It's fine. It's not you really, she's always this jumpy. She runs away from plants that sway in the wind if it's dark enough," he explained, trying to stiffle a laugh near the end, but not doing very well. He knew this because an orange red hand bapped him in annoyance.

"That's better," he chuckled, smiling down on the now glaring face of his sister.

Nitidu huffed, her cheeks puffing out every so slightly for just a few moments before it went back to nervousness. She swallowed hard, closed her eyes, and placed her hand in Cutter's offered hand for him to help her up.

The isle was calm and peaceful until a sound was heard. It was carried on the wind to be heard by all the pae gathered around. At first it sounded like a huge roar, but soon it was a word, actually a name. A name that some would know and others would not. One would know it to be his and know exactly where the name was originating, "FAROTH!!!"

"We could take it back to my place so we know it won't go anywhere," offered Aysu. Unlike Noel, she still had her place, and she did say that her house was also Noel's house. "Plus, then maybe we can place this seaweed near some kind of heat." Like the fireplace. If they put the seaweed close enough to the fireplace, perhaps it would dry out a little faster and they could work on these necklaces a little sooner than if they just left them in the shade.

The naiad set the shells and smooth rocks on a leaf before folding it up so it could be carried in a way similar to a bag. She then moved on to do something similar to the leaf with the seaweed, before picking up both 'leaf-bags' up. "There we go! Well, you ready to go back?" Aysu turned back and grinned, before heading off, assuming Noel would follow. After all, they were heading to what was their house for the moment.

"That sounds like a really good plan." She smiled and helped gather everything up. She then paused as she heard the name shouted over the isle. "What is that?" She asked Aysu and she shook a bit, the voice was kind of scary."

Aspen took Melek to the post and read the note. The isle was in the ocean now? How weird. "Do you want to see?" He asked Melek as he bent over to pick him up. He then heard the sound and looked around. "What is that?"

Ivy frowned, "You don't know either?" What could it be then? It wasn't anything she had seen or heard. She walked over to the trees and asked them. They didn't know, but they said there was a floating tree no one had seen before, "Really A floating tree..." Ivy flew up to see it when the name was roared out.

Cutter gently pulled her up. "Are you ok?" He felt for this girl. Everything had changed, why wouldn't you be scared of everything. He let go as soon as she got up so she didn't get even more scared.

Woobie chuckled at her words. "Sweet honeysuckle?" He then followed her to the ravine. "You are right!" He really didn't remember that being here, "This is new..." How could that have appeared as they slept?
