Haseo patted Kuroi's shoulder, half-grinning smugly. "You should also know that she isn't as oblivious to things as she lets it seem... she's actually quite observant and smart. Why she puts on the facade is a mystery to me." He pursed his lip, thinking about anything else to tell.
"Ah... if you do or say something, she'll definitely remember it... word for word. She's got an unbelievable memory, and can retell anything as far back as a year ago." He cocked a knowing brow. "Got it?"

Hikaru pouted childishly, putting her hands on her hips. "Don't change the subject...!" she objected, snapping her fingers in front of Akino's face to get her to refocus. "So do you want to or not? Nee-chan's been talking about getting settled for a long time now, and he's finally found 'the one'...!"
She took Akino's hand, poking at her ring finger. "Nee-chan... his memories are going to disappear soon; the seal's almost complete... he should live the highlights of life before his time runs out."

Akino blinked, her eyes started to become worried. She knew this, but did not want to hear it again. She sighed then nodded, smiling sweetly. Her soft hands held back. "If your brother asked me to marry him, I will never fail to say yes." She assured her, her eyes softened.

Hikaru smiled brightly, holding her hands firmly in her small ones. "Perfect! All I need to do is convince nee-chan, and then there will be wedding bells!" she chirped, rocking back and forth cheerfully. "Of cours, though, you'd have to meet mother... she'd love you as much as I do...!"
Her smile grew, her crimson eyes ecstatic and bright. "She'd probably look at the both of you together and see how much you love each other with one look..." She put her hands on her cheeks happily. "She'll be so proud!"

Akino chuckled then nodded cheerfully. "Aye aye!" she said, placing her hand on her cheek as she her smile widened.
"So, shall we go back in?" She asked, offering her hand to the little girl.

Haseo cocked a brow, giving him a curious look. He crossed his arms firmly over his chest. "Do I?" he asked, pursing his lip. "How is that so? I am playing the proper role of responible big brother... right?"
He shifted his weight to one side, running a hand through his unruly hair. "I just want what's best for her... I know that it may sound disturbing, but I used to... love her... in that way... before she became my step-sister..." he mumbled. "I want to make sure that she's happy and safe."

Its hard to imagine any man who would not love her, Haseo. It disturbs me not in the least. you look out for her, just like any big brother should, though I failed in that aspect...nevermind. trust In me, I will not let you down Haseo. Ill take as best care of her as I can." kuroi finished quickly.

Haseo scratched his cheek, obviously embarrassed by his past affection for the girl that was now his younger step-sister. He coughed, before rubbing the back of his neck. "Yeah, pretty hard... those eyes get to you, don't they?" he mumbled, staring off to the side. "And I'm sure you will take good care of her..." he agreed softly. "... especially since you know the kind of punishment you'll be getting not only from me, but from Akino as well." He paused, and glanced up at him curiously. He furrowed his brow.
"Inu-san... do you have any siblings?" he asked suddenly, looking him over seriously.

Hikaru nodded, taking her hand instinctively. She skipped back inside, towing the captain behind her effortlessly. "Mother lives right outside the east gate of Seireitei," she piped, turning to look at her from over her shoulder. "Probably a ten minute walk as soon as you exit the gate... four if you shunpo." She grinned, which made her features look fox-like and mischievous.
"You'd love her!! She's got blue eyes and hair, and she's really nice!! She can cook pretty well, too, and she was the one that got Nii-chan a piano!" she exclaimed, throwing her hands up in the air while she spoke. "She'll accept you with open arms... like nii-chan and I!"
A light bulb suddenly went off in her head. She clapped her hands together. "We'll be your family from now on! Nii-chan, mother, and I! So you'd have somewhere to go on your days off from the Gotei!"

Akino chuckled at the idea of being one happy family. The idea can be possible, but it never had occurred in her mind to have such a wonderful thing to happen to her. "You're lucky to have a beautiful, loving and caring mother. I never felt that for like years." She spoke softly, glancing at Hikaru as the returned to the cafe.
"Really?" She stopped, they were already inside the cafe. She stared at hikaru with her cheeks flustered. "T-That would be lovely..." She smiled sheepishly, twiddling her index fingers. Her nerves activating again.

younger brother....I havent seen Shiroi in years...when we first came to soul society, I was two, shiroi a newborn... a kind old gentleman took us in. he was very sick but he did what he could. but He died when I was four. shiroi an infant at two...well after that...I could barely take care of myself, let alone an infant...I took Shiroi to an orphanage, where he was later adopted...when I graduated from the academy, I tried to find him, but I had no success...that was 142 years ago..."

Haseo pursed his lip, resting his hand over his mouth. "I see," he said softly, "That's... unfortunate. My adopted parents found Hikaru... real lucky, huh?" he mumbled. He tried to imagine worrying over the girl he loved then for more than a century. It hurt him to be away from her for even a quarter of that time.
"There's still hope though... we can help you look. If there's more people looking, then it should be easier," he murmured softly. He gave him a reassuring look, motioning towards the cafe. "Let's worry about that later... we should be getting inside soon, ne?" he said softly. He walked towards the cafe, but stopped to look at him from over his shoulder. "From now on, we're brothers, alright? If something's bugging you, then you can talk to me, and likewise with me. Alright?"

Brothers hm? I guess I could live with that. and yes, itd be nice to go back inside. these coversations seem a little awkward. for both of us." Kuroi said, scratching his chin. he went to bow his head to let his hair back into his face, but it was still tied up."this is going to take getting used to.."he mumbled.

Hikaru frowned a little, hugging Akino's waist comfortingly. "Don't sound so sad! It makes me feel upset too...!!" she muttered, looking up at her with round crimson eyes. "Mother'll accept you like she did to nii-nii and I..." she grinned widely, poking at her stomach to get her attention, "... especially after nii-nii tells her that you're the one he's doing to ask to marry!" She let go of her, dancing around happily at the idea.
"White dresses, red roses, a blushing bride and groom~" she sang, twirling around in graceful circles. "Akino and Nii-Nii sitting in a tree~ K-I-S-S-I-N-G! First comes looove, then comes marriage...!!" She whipped around, taking her brother's hand right when he came through the door to the cafe. She lifted her dress slightly, and bowed. "... then comes a baby in a baby carriage." Haseo's brow twitched slightly, unsure of who the young girl in front of him was. He gave Akino a questioning look.
"Akino...? Who's this?" he asked, giving the young Hikaru curious look.
