The remaining few birds divided and chased after the three figures. Leaving the ruins unguarded now that they saw no strategic value to it.

The three figures were attempting to try their hardest to get away from the birds through the trees. The birds came within striking distance, and a spike of chakra in the area where the fallen dojo was had appeared momentarily. Artillery: Nation Detonation
Three explosions went off in the forest that encompassed a 20 foot radius from each of the retreating figures.

The explosions were amplified by the birds own detonations. The ichor spreading another fifty feet from the center of the blasts. Consuming anything unfortunate enough to be exposed.
The area was silent from the birds for a while, but there was something in the air that gave the feeling that they would return. It was almost like killer intent, but with how it felt it was as if many of the birds, still too far away to be seen were now focusing their attentions, all with the goal to kill Tier. The only thing separating it from the normal blood-lust form of killer intent would be the fact that it felt like it was coming from a single source rather then the individuals.

The heavy mist surrounding the destroyed dojo settled to the ground. Tier was standing in front of it, picking up one of the bladed feathers while examining it. The two short swords were still horizontal between his teeth. Dead birds as weapons. Isn't Bao or Nekojiri's style. Maybe minion. He dropped the feather while looking over his shoulder in response to the flare that was sent into the sky, near the Kaze dojo's direction. Tier withdrew the short swords from his mouth, placing them into each of his hands instead. He wasn't moving yet.

The first few birds started to approach, three coming from different directions appearing first on the outer reaches of Tier's vision. They started climbing as they approached, gaining altitude, each bird keeping itself at a different fixed range it seemed.

Tier stepped down from the destroyed wooden walkway into the shallow waters as his yellow eye noticed the three birds incoming. His face-mask's mouth clamped together tightly while he watched their flight paths traveling upwards.

They kept their respective altitudes overhead. Seeming to wait for their forces to collect. From the birds retreating from the Ho dojo only fifteen had been diverted. Most of the flock moved into the upwards flying pattern. Two birds started flying low, circling closer and closer to Tier, seeming to test just how close they could get.

He continued to monitor the birds back, assuming they were still gauging his capabilities. Tier had the idea that they might rain acid and bladed feathers down onto him at any moment. He was paying attention to the flock of birds that were gathering, more so than the two birds that were descending slowly.
The murky waters around Tier started to slosh around abnormally as his chakra was mixing with it. His chakra had encompassed most of the dojo grounds where there was water.

As the birds reached the half-way point between Tier and their flock something changed. They were still circling, but their positioning from Tier's perspective showed the two birds circling equadistant from each other, with the center point being one bird hovering directly over Tier. The fourteen birds surrounding the central bird were flying around it, moving slower and slower, while the closest two birds seemed to be moving faster and faster.
Something wouldn't seem right about how the birds were moving.

Tier dashed away from under the flock of birds, running around the debris from the destroyed dojo. These birds were being directly controlled by someone; their movements were too coordinated. Depending on what happens next, the puppeteer might be successful in completing their temporary goal here.

There would be one quickly noticeable problem Tier would find. As he tried to get out from underneath the birds he would find that wherever he moved they were directly overhead, in fact the precision almost suggested they were only a projection...
This would be backed up by the sudden explosion of displaced air right ahead of Tier without anything visible appearing, and immediately following a large feeling of danger if Tier had at all developed the sensing ninja's danger sense.

It looked like some water had came off of Tier when the explosion of air spawned in front of his running path. He was halted in his steps as he looked up at the illusion of birds. Tier didn't switch between his visions to investigate if it was an illusion or not.

The halt would be costly as almost immediately after a wave of feathers and acidic blood would burst out from the false nothingness of the genjutsu. After the explosion it would be clear that the birds circling hadn't moved from their original positions, aside from the central bird which apparently had somehow been teleported directly ahead of this Tier.
The birds above broke their formation, coming to investigate their attack's successfulness.

The Tier that was attacked was a water clone; it's form had started to weaken after the air explosion. The texture of the clone turned into water as it collapsed into the murky waters. There was silence across the broken dojo grounds. Tier's chakra signature was missing.

The birds started to form a new search pattern, but after a few moments they would all suddenly turn and retreat. Their path appearing strangely chaotic as members of the flock kept moving off course randomly, and at times the entire flock followed the oddball birds leads.
