"Oh, Apollo, ever the optomistic one," Hermes sipped at his cocoa and watched the other god. "And how can you be so sure that the emotions that we, as gods, feel for one another, or fo humans for that matter, are and different from the emotions that humans feel for one another. Did Hera never get envious and attempt to thwart Zeus's every affair? Did Aphrodite not fall madly in love with Aries? Did I never feel anything for my own child, who was neither man nor woman? No, Apollo, humans and gods share the same emotions, weather they created us, or we created them, we feel the same. You feel a longing to see your dear sister once more, as any man would after so long. We always thought that, as gods, humans cannot possibly feel all that we feel, but I think that, when you come down to it, we're all the same. Only difference is that we get to live longer and do more fun things, like dissappearing and flying and all that."

Apollo's eyes turn to the window, "I don't deny that gods don't have emotions as humans do, but humans.... humans endure a certain amount of these feelings. They live a generation of stimulus, hardship, and love... amd then, we set them free to Ellysium.... But Hermes, we've spent thousands of years enduring constantly what tires a human to death in a meer 50-80 years.... Hermes, I'm just saying that I'm tired... That's all..." He lays back in the bed, his arms casually drifting aside to the bedtable. His hand, though doing such blindly, delicately picks up the mug of cocoa before pelting it headlong across the room to slam into the opposite wall, shattering into pieces. He whispers calmly, "I'm so damn tired... I'm tired of living centuries of the hardships without the bright glimpses of the precious moments... I'm just tired, Hermes, that's all..."

"Oh, Apollo," For Apollo, of all of them, to have become tired was a truely a stab in the heart. He set his own cocoa on the bedside table, replacing Apollo's and slides into bed next to him and embraced him.
"Why didn't you come find me sooner? Wandering about on your own for so long has done you no sort of good at all."

With a shakey sigh, his body presses nearer to that of Hermes, his arm chilly and bare draping over Hermes, pulling him closer, weakly. His voice didn't give away any sense of weakness or pain, "None of us are holding up very well... Of us all, I thought Diana would be able to take it all well.... But I doubt Jupiter even knows where she is now.... Hermes, I've missed you so much... I knew that not many of the gods would be very angry with me... not after all this time has passed but.... I just didn't think things could ever be the same..."

Hermes stroked Apollos hair and kissed his cool forhead. "The problem is that we're all so stubborn. Everyone's refusing to talk to eachother, we're all missing eachother terribly, but we refuse to do anything about it."
He shook his head, not wanting to go on that rant again. He'd tried, unsuccesfully, to get the Gods of Olympus back together again, not to go and seek Zeus out, but just to see eachother again. Of course, no one wanted to admit that they were lonely and needed company. In the end only Calliope and two of the four winds came. Hermes was disappointed, but happy to see them.
"Things won't be the same, they wouldn't be the same even if Zeus hadn't gone mad. And who knows? Maybe Diana is taking it well, wherever she is."

((sorry about not being around... we all took an impromptu trip to Queens.... mmmhmmm.... yea, I've never felt so dirty in my life))
Laying his head in the nook between Hermes' neck and shoulder, he sighed, starting to relax, but still shivering and cold. He whispers, "Its hard for everyone to adjust... We expect ourselves to be stubborn because we are immortal... we try not to think of ourselves as changing beings... I guess most of them expected that I'm still angry.... because of the things I said.... But its been so long... I feel sick to my stomach when I think of my words.... especially those words that I said to you, Hermes...." He snuggles closer to his warmer friend, tears on his cheeks but no trace of sobbing or weeping in his voice, "You'd think I'd learn to appreciate my best friend more... you're only the god that made me my first lyre..... and especially considering you are the only one I've seen since..." He wraps his arms tightly around Hermes' torso, hiding his face in the crook of the other's neck.

He groaned, the light was shining into his eyes, Endymion turned over to get from teh light when he suddenly sat up. Did I sleep in? No, the lip of the sun was just appearing over the horizion.
Serene, jolted awake by the sudden movemt yawned and turned a sleepy gaze at the boy. "Mew?"
Endymion sat up, drawing his knees in watching the riseing sun with mixed emotions, lastnight's dream had made him aware that he was feeling a more then graditude towards Apollo.
"Apollo bless our day, under your light we stand. Let your grace shine upon us and forever bless the land." the common prayer tummbled from his lips, he wished that he knew of the other prayers....he hadn't been very versed in every prayer to the Sun-God.
PostPosted: Mon Feb 20, 2006 6:59 pm

Apollo pulled himself up after a while, feeling wiped out and cold. He slips from Hermes' arms, sitting up in bed and sighing. He could feel the tug, the warmth, the sun was waiting for him this morning. For the first time in years, he had forgotten and the sun had to remind him. He whispers softly, "Sorry..." He glances to Hermes and smiles weakly, "I still have a job I guess..." He leans dwon, laying a small kiss on Hermes' forehead, "I should go tell him anyways..." He stands from the bed, clad in only a pair of slightly loose jeans he had found the night before.

He saunters slowly from the room, rubbing his stinging eyes and knowing his eyes were probably still red from tears. it didn't matter though, nothing really seemd too important at the moment. As he slid into the doorway of Endymion'd room, he was suddenly overwhelmed, hearing and feeling the prayer. It was inexplicable just how good it felt to feel a prayer again. He takes in a long breath, knowing Endymion hadn't noticed him there yet. He whispers, "I hope you slept well... I know I messed things up last night.... I apologize..." He takesa few steps in, his eyes turning towards the window, feeling the sun pulling him. He whispers now, changing the subject subtly, "Its strange... I've lived for so long, and every day since I was a boy, I've done the same ting every morning.... And yet, I never cease to be humbled by it.... To guide the sun.... I realize just how small I am." He stops, now just a few feet from Endymion's bed. His eyes turn back to Endymion, a small calm smile at his lips and an almost sad look in his eyes. He holds out his hand to him, simply whispering, "Wanna try?"

He looked at Apollo with wide eyes. "Try? Try what?" Endymion stummbled over his words. "Surely you don't mean...." he was stopped by the emotion in the god's eyes. Almost with out thinking, his hand reached out and grasped Apollo's. At the touch, Dymion's heart started to pound, He gulped "Yes, Apollo." He flushed deeply.
PostPosted: Tue Feb 21, 2006 7:23 pm

Apollo smiles, eyes dancing with a small bit of amusement, as he adds softly, "Not alone, of course...." He grasps Endymion's hand, helping him to his feet with a soft knowing smile. He leads him towards the window, turning to glance at it before looking back to Endymion. His hand was starting to warm and gently pulsate, but at a rate different from a regular pulse. It was calm, but had a different rhythm. They arrive at the window, only a few feet away, when he stops and whispers, "Stand here.... You could guide from farther away, but then you'd miss the connection..." He steps behind Endymion, close enough for his bare chest to barely brush Dymion's back. His left handmolds around the outside of Dymion's left hand and as their hands rested togeher, the warmth began to seep further into Endymion, not only from Apollo, but from some outside source. Apollo's right hand places itself and Endymion's right shoulder, comfortably holding himself near. He sighs for a moment, feeling the pulling of the sun with greater urge. The pure light had begun to tease at the horizon, impatient with longing and an urging that both of them could now feel, but that couldn't be explained by either.
Apollo, who usually felt nervous around Endymion, now felt oddly relaxed and at peace. He whispers in Endymion's ear, "When the earth was new, the sun needed constant guidance. There were heat waves and ice ages when she was left alone. Now she knows her path to take... But like any other living being, she yearns for a connection... to relate... for intimacy... The sun could easily travel her path across the sky, but.... well, no one wants to be as alone and isolated as she is..." His left hand lifts Endymion's, raising towards the horizon, "Don't be shocked... she's quite urgent and her connection will be strong..." A wave a heat washed over them both, tingling in the fingers of their left hands and rushing up their arms and into their bodies, centering in the middleof their chests. Apollo whispers again softly in his ear, "Just relax... its not even a duty or job... its just an experience from this moment on... As long as you just give yourself up to her, she'll be gentle...."

((*sigh*School and work consumes me and my creativity. Which is a problem since one of my classes is Novel Workshop and you kinda have to be creative for that x__x))
Hermes held Apollo untill he left and kissed his knuckles when he did. The older god worried him, if he took it so hard how were the others doing? How was Dionysius? Athena? Ares? A new worry, which really was an old worry, welled up in him and he felt a strong desire to go find the others, to make sure they were doing ok, no matter what they thought of him. Especially Dionysus, though the old b*****d probably had it the easiest, him and Aphrodite. Man will always worship drink and sex, there's no two ways about it. Ares was probably doing fairly well also, though Athena would have been left to the way side. Athena...how he loved her, and he told her on several occassions, but she would just laugh that flighty laugh of hers and say that she was bound to be alone forever. He shook his head to clear it and arose to draw himself a bath.

The sudden flood of warmth startled him a bit. Endymion bit his lower lip to keep from gasping out. At Apollo's words, he slowly relaxed in the god's hold. The faint light of the sun encouraged him.
Taking a deep breath, Endymion focused his sight beyond the window.

Th warmth began to feel as if it were throbbing like waves from their bodies, inside out. He felt this feeling every day since he was a boy, but always alone. The heat was more intense now, but none of it uncomfortable. Only the tingling welcome feeling. His right arm gently winds aroun Endymion's waist as Apollo hugged himself to the mortal infront of him. He didn't know how a simple mortal could make him feel so generally good, but it seemed like just what he needed right now...
The sun began to rise, pulling harder at their bodies as they skid slightly closer to the window. The warmth was soothing every muscle and the connection grew with every tiny movement the sun made over the horizon. Images passed through their minds, first their own memories, then memories of some one else. There were battlefields with ancient wars, bathed in a reddish glow, there were serence oceans reflecting a soft orange, there were fields and forests, lakes and streams, civilizations and ruins, people all alone, and crowds among crowds. These were memories the sun held.
Apollo nuzzled his face into the youth's neck, sighing softly, "She sees more than we could ever imagine and none can relate to her... She's always lonely... That's her nature... Even all I have seen is only a glimpse. It's been thousands of years, but it is still just a glimpse...." The sun found itself halfway in the sky. Apollo was silent for a long few moments, "She and I are one in the same... We can try our hardest to grasp out to those around us, but if the end, all we can offer is our own lonliness... She offers me lonliness, and I offer my own back... In that way, we can suffer togehter as the world grows cold... But, Dymion... Mortals were born to live together, surrounded by others who feel the same emotions and have the same reactions.... You don't deserve to be offered lonliness, Endymion..." He sighs again, his fingers of his left ahdn gently entwining with those of Dymion as they are held towards the sun
PostPosted: Thu Feb 23, 2006 3:59 pm

Endymion winced as the sensations went through him, It was an experience that e never felt before, it felt like he was being washed inside with liquid sunlight. His body almost bolted when Apollo held him closer, only a decade of self-discipline held him still. "uhn," It was a small sound, insignificant to the miracle of the dawn that Apollo was sharing with him.
Dymion closed his eyes, seeing the after image of the sun behind his lids. "Apollo..." he whispered, still feeling the wash of the sun's memories and Apollo's power. "...The sun doesn't have to be alone, as do you...uh!"
The boy raised one hand to his forehead as a sharp pang of pain went through his head.
The image of the dream-girl came to him strongly.
She was dressed in white, long sliver hair tumbling down pale bare shoulders. There was something on her head a circlet with a silver crescent...
"Apollo??.....Ugh...." Endymion's legs buckled under him. It hurt, the image burned, frustrated that he couldn't remember more, He felt that he -SHOULD- know her....that girl.

The images suddenly stopped at Endymion's words.
"The sun doesn't have to be alone, as do you..."
Before he could register any time afterwards, he suddenly felt Endymion start to slip. Instinct kicked in and both his arms wrap around the weakened youth. He holds him for a moment, as if trying to comprehend reality. He whispers, "Dymion...? Dymion?!" He slowly kneels, lowering then both to the floor to let Endymion rest his legs. He could tell that Endymion was in pain, he could feel it at every stop his skin touched the youth's The sun hadn't fully risen, the connection was still strong. Apollo whimpers, grumbling towards teh window, "One moment, damnit..." He turns his attention back to the overwhelmed young man he was half cradling, "Endymion... Endymion, are you ok??... You're hurting..." Some part of him suddenly snapped, knowing that he was probably to blame for this, "Oh gods.... I'm so sorry.... I shouldn't have-... oh gods...."
