Haiiro hid behind Kira and peered out from behind her and gave Thena a timid smile "Are you feeling better?"

Kira chuckled as Haiiro hid behind her, not mentioning that he was a good bit taller than her, making it pretty hard to really hide behind her but she thought it was adorable so she didn't say anything.

Toshi also looked amused at the tall boy trying to hide (and actually doing quite a good job) behind Kira. Deciding to change the subject before anyone could get upset again he turned to Kira "So whats for dinner anyway?" It was only after the words left his mouth that he realized mentioning dinner may not have been the best thing to say..

Kirs smiled. "Fish I believe, and whatever you want for extras. Maybe even another type of meat if you would like." she said, trying to point out that she didn't really have an idea of what to cook for a bunch of strangers. "Oh yes, and any vegetables you would like as well."

He smiled greatfully "Fish sounds wonderful but anything you make would be excellent. Cooking is not my forte and I often find myself eating... most unpleasant things."
Haiiro bounced a bit noding in agreement "I don't know how to cook at ALL! So thats amazing Kira.. you must be a great cook! And fish is my favorite!!"

She smiled and laughed at the both of them. "Don't you guys like any vegetables or something? Carrots, broccoli, tomatoes? Pick something so I know what to cook." she said, her eyes sparkling with delight. It had been a long time since she'd had company her age.

"Ummmm..." He put his serious thinking face back on "I like carrots! My mom used to say I was a rabbit in disguise." he giggled a bit.
He smiled gently at Haiiro "Carrots sound perfect. i agree with our own cat-bunny"
*glares* "Rabbit"
"Uhh cat-Rabbit then!"

Kira chuckled gently. "Alright cat-rabbit, carrots it is! What about something else, like celery or something? I was going to put it in a stew actually, so what else would you like? Celery or something?"

He nods still happy about fish and carrots so he didn't really care what else they had.

"Alrighty then! Celery, carrots, and fish for dinner! Hope everyone likes ranch dressing." she said, heading to the kitchen to prepare everything. "Might want to serve the salad as a snack since this will take awhile."

"Sure thing!" he got he salad and looked around for plates or bowls to serve it in "Uhh where are we eating anyway?"
Haiiro was standing there looking rather lost now that his 'shield' had left to go cook. He didn't want to follow and bother her so he now attached himself to Toshi (who was thankfully taller than him) and clung to the back of his shirt still wary of frightening Thena.

"In the dining room, turn to your left and go straight. There's a table there with some bowls on it. The dressing is in here on the counter with a scoop and some utensils." she said, digging in the ice box for some fish and then quickly fileting them to be fried. She squatted down and stoked the fires in the cook stove that always had a fire going until it was time to sleep. She grabbed some flour and then flipped the fish around in it before laying them out in the pan. While that started to fry she went to get some vegetables which she had decided to use in ranch dip instead of a soup. She also decided to cook some green beans in bacon.

He followed her instructions though it was a bit difficult with Haiiro attached to him like that. But he delt with it knowing the boy needed support right now. he nudged him "hey can you get the dressing for me?"
"uhh sure." he dashed into the kitchen looking for the dressing.

Kira pointed to the dressing. "Right there." she said, taking a set of tongs and flipping the fish over. "It's a bit heavy so be careful."

he nodded "ok I'll be real careful" And walked slowly out to where the others were setting the dressing on the table proudly.
Toshi ruffled his hair and grinned "Thanks."
