The Lieutenant kept quiet for the time being, only observing. He did return the salute to Sergeant Forte.

Forte scratched his head. "I've upgraded the Autoturrets power by 6% and their range by 10%. The explosive charges have been planted and we are rigging up a few sniper nests. I still have some work to do so..." he saluted and walked off.
Eager spoke again, "SO do you like my Castle defence Idea sir?"

He watched as the third sergeant left. Then he turned his attention to the person addressing him. "Very much so, Sergeant. I want you to get to work on that right away, but be sure to give the Lieutenant and me constant updates about your progress. You got me marine?" He raised his right eyebrow questioningly with his last inquiry.

He grinned and saluted. "Hell yes sir. You can always trust a Black Oprative. Come on Cheeks." Eager started to walk off to his position. Cheeks saluted and did the same.

Mathias couldnt help but chuckle. "What a group of soldiers we have here. They will certainly give the covenant hell, no doubt about that."

He saluted them both as they turned and left for their positions. "Well, I'm feeling better about this already." He looked at Lieutenant Twombley expectantly. "So, about Alpha Base...we need to find its weakest spots and come up with ways of fortifying them. I'm sure you've already begun that process, though. Am I right?"

Brennan ran to the room where Coyne, Ashford, Angel and Alchie were. "What's up?" He asked. Coyne pointed to the man sitting on the bead in civilion clothing. He was munching on a candy bar and he waved at them. Brennan and the others waved back with puzzled looks on their faces.
The Man swallowed the last peice of candy bar and rubbed his hands together. "Bout time someone found me." He said. He looked around 26 years oold. Mike never remembered a SPARTAN being onboard.
The man pointed at Mike. "Hey, do I know you?" he asked. Mike walked into the room. "No. I dont think you do. WHat is your name son?" he asked. The man scratched his head. "Eli. I'm Eli. They called me SPARTAN-100. Whatever that means."
Brennan looked him over. He didnt look to bad for living on Halo for most of his life. "We're going to get you out of here Eli. Come on." Mike said and waved him to follow.

"yes sir, i can show you back in the map room." Mathias turned out of the com center to head back to the map room where they came from as he walked he said "The weakest point of Alpha Base right now is the southern end. It is the lowest point of the butte, and has a wider margain for which to allow troops and armor to filter in. And as always, the only defense we have against and all out air attack is the LAAG's and Scorpians, along with the rockets we have stored up, but we dont have many of them. "

Elsewhere, outside Alpha Base, Logan was yelling at the eleven ODST's, which he had hand-picked to be on this assignment, to double-time it onto the Pelican. Echo 601's engines roared as they were fed more fuel and the dropship began to rise. The pilot slowly adjusted the thrusters to force the craft forward and up, heading off towards the UNSC Armengald to recieve their new orders.

He followed Lieutenant Twombley into the map room and considered some of the options for the defense of the southern end of the butte. "Are there any spare turrets we could place there?"

Twombley looked at the map and shook his head at the question. "No heavy turrets, only the M247 mounted machine guns, and i believe we only have two to spare...We do, however, have a large supply of anti-vehicle and anti-personnel mines though, we could have the technicians set up a mind field covering the whole area. And if they covenant decided on coming to attack through that southern pass.." he lay his finger down on the southern pass point on the map, "then we would know they were coming from the explosions." He looked up again at the major for his response.

He thought about what was being said and incorporated it into his own plan. "We could have those placed as you indicated at the bottom of the southern pass. I also have an idea I would like to add to that. We could also place those two M247 mounted machine guns a good distance uphill from that location, so as to protect them from the explosions. We would also want to make sure they weren't directly next to each other. We wouldn't want one plasma grenade taking out two of our heavy weapons." He stopped here and thought for a few moments before continuing. "Do we have any plasma grenades that have been recovered?"
