Twilight has to be taken with a grain of salt in terms of story and concept. It's kind of like Harry Potter, it came out in the right time for fan base.
Besides, even Stephanie Meyers herself said she did no research whatsoever on vampires, so Twilight was pretty much pulled out of nowhere.

Edward Cullens is not a vampire and I can prove it!!! biggrin 1) He has white sparkly skin. 2)He has gold eyes 3)He's extremely strong 4) Incredibly fast 5)Doesn't need to eat (food) 6) or sleep... 7) Unnaturaly "perfect"... HE'S COMMANDER DATA!!!!! Heart, I doubt she went without doing any research, she did get a whole lot of the vampire hating werewolf thing down... their always mortal enemies, and to add to it, first book, Bella does research on vampires, that stuff IS online...

what irks me is she said she had a dream about a guy standing in a meadow glowing and a girl with him, and that's what the whole book started from . . . a dream about the worst scene in the book.
If she said one day, "I want to write a vampire book with a new spin", the series would have turned out worlds better. Don'tget me wrong, I love the adventures of the Cullens/Hales + Bella . . . but Meyer could have done a much better job at it.

I agree. I also think the series would have been... less annoying, if Bella weren't a clingy b***h, Edward weren't a controling jerk, and the fourth book was never written.
I don't call Edward chivalrous, I call him an a**...

The Twilight series is okay... I liked the scene of a mind-reader playing chess against someone who can see the future... but it's over-hyped in the extreme. "Ooh, a vampire! He's sexy!" Why can't we have, like, a hideous vampire instead of Edward? Who cares that half his flesh is gone; Bella loves him!
That would be a bit more fun. XD
