Jou got up and hurried after Seto, rushing to his side before anyone grabbed him. "Kaiba, I don't think this is a good idea. Atemu looks really hacked!"

"Well I suppose if you're foolish enough to sacrifice your own home for the destruction that awaits you and your PERVERSE mind, be my guest." Atem said, eyes narrowed. He fancied himself one who strode along fairly well with the rest of them, even though his legs were significantly shorter. This would be easy. Almost as easy as Seto Kaiba himself, the ferocious wanton slut that he was.

Malik kept just a step behind Jou and Seto, just in case Seto decided to slam the doors on Atem - which, in Malik's opinion, wouldn't be a bad idea. Malik narrowed his eyes into a glare of annoyance in Atem's direction. "Ever think that maybe you're just a little to dramatic?" he snapped. He was regretting ever having stirred the idiot pharaoh up in the first place. "Besides, you didn't even want to deal with this in the first place - I seem to remember you saying 'why bother saving Jou from certain peril?'" he added. He'd already gotten his toes wet (figuratively speaking), so why not dive in the whole way? He was addicted to ruining things...

Jounouchi looked back at Malik and quirked a brow. "What're you talking about?"

"Yeah, what *are* you talking about?" Kaiba questioned. He really wanted to know why Atem was going crazy.

And THAT little outburst earned Malik Ishtar a backhanding from his highness the pharaoh Atem, the snap fairly audible through the room. "I wouldn't be to anxious to tempt fate at this point." he glowered.
That's because Atem was still trying to deny that he was worried about them getting together yet failing. XD

Malik didn't answer, though he wished he had paid closer attention to Atem - that was like the third time today! He didn't show that it hurt, though (it stung, yes, but it was almost welcome). Instead, he glared down at the shrimp. "I wouldn't have to if you weren't so Ra-damned STUPID!" he shot back, stepping back out of Atem's reach. "Geeze, you remind me of Anzu," he added, averting his glare, "always trying to pry into other people's business..." he finished, turning his back on the pharaoh. "Atem's just jealous," he said, speaking to Kaiba and Jou, "and a stupid duel isn't going to change anything," he snapped, aiming that in Atem's direction. He was cold, pissed, tired, and hungry - all he wanted was to be dry and fed. He sighed and hung his head. "Kaiba, you mind lending me a towel to dry off with?" he asked, speaking just barely above a mutter.

Jounouchi frowned and looked at Seto. "Seto... Take Malik to go get dried off... I think I eed to talk to Atemu alone..." He said rigidly, pulling the pharoah into another room.

Kaiba rolled his eyes, "Fine, fine. If it will get all of you to shut up..." Kaiba led Malik to a bathroom and began digging for a couple fresh towels, "Here, take it." He tossed one into Malik's face and then used another to dry his soaked hair. The towels were nice and warm.

Under any other circumstance, Malik would have voiced some sarcastic note about the face-bound towel. But the towel was warm, so Malik just buried his face in it for a moment before systematically drying himelf off. "Arigatou," he said, happier than he was a minute ago. He rid himself of his shirt and socks and dried off what he could before setting the damp but still slightly warm towel around his shoulders. He wanted to say something, but there wasn't really anything he could say without possibly getting himself into hot water - what is with the water metaphors?! - and he'd rather not get on Kaiba's bad side, or worse side... did Kaiba even have a good side? Hmm....

Kaiba didn't seem to notice Malik being deep in thought, "So, exactly what the hell is up with Yuu... Atem?" he asked. After all, Malik didn't answer the last time.

Malik didn't even bother looking up. "He's being a d**k - more so than usual," he answered. "I honestly don't know exactly what's going on inside his head, and I don't want to. The only answer that could be even slightly reasonable is jealousy, but who knows..." He sighed. "Then again, this is probably partially my fault..." he muttered.

"Unhand me! I will have my vengeance for you!" Atem protested, at least until he realized that he had successfully separated Jounouchi from Seto, thus preventing the tragedy of a lifetime! Jou was spared!
"Jonouchi, I'm proud of you." He turned and put a hand on Jounouchi's shoulder. "It takes a lot to not be conned in by a man like that."
Moral victory is mine!

Jounouchi glared at his friend and literally smacked him upside the head. "What the hell is wrong with you?! I finally get Seto to start being nice to me and you have to be a d*** to him!" He said angrily, crossing his arms.

"The only reason THAT man is nice to ANYONE is to weave his tangled web of deceit and trickery." Atem replied. "You're a trusting person, and I admire that in you, but he is NOT someone you want to get close to."
Because I've done it once, and then he nearly killed me. Atem thought silently. Never would anyone else know. No one had to. No one needed to.
"Hit me again and you'll regret it." he threatened, eyes glowing.
