I believe it is endurence checks not athletics checks. also you do still need rest but only 4 hours to benefit from an extended rest.
Omega's check result: you find out the picture is a portrate of his family. his wife is named Mira and his two sons are Jacob and Guilliam. They live in the mayors house on the norther edge.
