"It's good to know open minded people." Mel said smiling to Lacey. He finished pitching down one end of the tent and crossing his legs. He took out a flask of fresh water he had accumulated from the provisions. Mel began drinking a few sips and held it over to Lacey. "Do you want any, Lacey?"

Rhell closed his eyes and smiled to himself. He stood up and spread his sleeping mat out. The sun had set and the fire was a bright light that cut through the darkened blue of the night sky. Rhell got his sword and walked over to Lana. "You should go over by the fire, I can help you over before my watch starts." Rhell offered.

Lana looked up abruptly when she saw a shadow coming over toward her. She felt her adrenaline instinct halt when she recognized Rhell as the shadow as her visage lifted toward the stars.
"Oh, alright," she replied to the campfire offer. It did look somewhat like a camping trip back in her world, and despite her better knowledge, she couldn't help but to compare the two.
Lana opened the door and grabbed her crutch. She propped herself up on it and started to walk over to the campfire with Rhell's assistance.
"So, what have you guys been talking about," she said playfully, as if purposely nosy to lighten the mood. She didn't think it worked very well.

Rhell set Lana down on the ground and put her crutch at her side. Rhell turned around and began walking to the hill. "Bye everyone, Suzume, all you need to do is stay awake half the night and switch later with Lacey." Rhell directed. Rhell went up on the hill, and covered himself with a tarp, and began watching the road for suspicious cars or trucks. His eyes hardly even moved, only blinked every twenty seconds or so.

Mel smiled to Lana. "Nothing important, Lana, just chating about whats been happening. Oh, and, I have been wondering a little... Lana, can you tell me about your travels? Like what you did before we met, I never really knew much about the outside world." Mel asked, his face beaming in the fire light.

"Oh," Lana remarked, "so you know that there's an outside world?" she paused for a moment and smiled up at Mel. "Sometimes I'm beginning to wonder which world is really outside..." Lana sat down her crutch. "Well, I wouldn't really say travels. Erm, I was simply walking to school like I normally do. In the air, I saw a slight glimmer that I was walking toward... then, suddenly, I was here. I was first simply out in a desert area here and then I met you guys. It was just like... I... fell... into another world. By accident."
Lana shrugged and looked back at Rhell. Her eyes had a bad habit of wandering around while she talked.
"There are several similarities between this world and the outside world... but... I have a question: how big is this world? Are there any cities? In the world where I come from, there are large cities with skyscrapers and buildings everywhere. Are there oceans? What's the normal food here?"
Then she realized that she said she had "a" question. "Sorry," she added, as her forehead met her palm.

Lacey happily accepted the drink. The night was finally theirs, and she was going to rest.
"So Mel, I know this is kind of late but, your father dropped this pin at the tavern a while ago. I was planning to give it back to him but, I guess you should have it. I'm sorry I didn't give back sooner. There was so much stuff going on and I kinda forgot." She extended her hand with her fingers opened, a small and shiny pin was in her palm.

Suzume nodded slightly in a drowsy like manner, although she was not one bit tired, she was actually just staring into the flames. Staring off into space remembering god knows what. It probably would be best if it stayed inside Suzume's head and her head only. Some other people might not take traumatizing things as well

Lana glanced up, mildly interested, when Lacey informed Rhell about the pin his father had dropped. She wondered why Lacey didn't just give it to him sooner. Her attention turned to the fire when she realized that she might come across as prying or nosy if she peered over Lacey's hand. She grinned halfheartedly as she watched the flames flicker and dance.

Mel took the pin and looked at it. "Thanks..." Mel mumbled without really thinking, his focus was on the pin. He remembered his father had worn it all the time, it had some kind of worn crest on it. Mel's father had promised it to him. He decided to pin it to the inside of his jacket as not to loose it. Mel stared emptily at the fire for a long time then spoke. "I think I should go to sleep." Mel said, he waved everyone goodbye and went into the tent. He pulled his arms into his shirt and hugged them around his body to keep them from the cool night air. Mel stared with his eyes half open at the ground, then he covered himself in a square shield and fell asleep into bitter dreams.

"I should probably sleep too," said Lana slowly. She hesitated before picking up her crutch, as if waiting for something. the flickering fire continued to mesmerize her mind and make her want to stay. However, she soon summoned the initiative to get to her feet and take a few steps forward. The air of the night was cool; a sharp contrast to the warm flames that previously danced around in front of her. She turned around, as if looking for something to say while gazing into the fire.
"Oh, good night everyone..." she said, before giving a smile and turning around again.

Lacey drowsily wandered off to the truck to grab blankets. She walked over to her tent, made her bed, and laid down. She lets the crickets hum lull her to sleep to let the time pass that she should take watch.
((Please let Mara be alone for a couple of minutes guys)) Mara wandered into the woods to take care of some business. She pushed her earring and called someone. A teenaged boy ,about about 16 or 17 talked into the phone.
"So how was the scouting mission?" he asked.
"Not bad at all. This group seems like promising recruits. We'll have the mission done in no time if they help us."
"Very well. Call me again tomorrow, when you can be alone.
Mara walked back to set her bed and fell asleep.

Rhell waited several hours until he finally crawled back down the hill and went back to the camp. "Suzume, one more hour and you switch. Get rid of the fire, they might spot the smoke if they are searching for us." Rhell went over to his sleeping mat and fell back on it, and half closed his eyes. His sword in hand. Only 3 of 24 vehicles on the road were the enemies, that was a good sign meaning it was not highly military concentrated. His pendant fell down his neck and onto his shoulder as if perching there. "We're too safe..." Rhell mumbled to himself.

"Fantastic, one's bleeding to death the other is already dead!" A soldier yelled. "All over some little kid who can track down infected... Have the civilians been cleared of the site?" He asked turning to a women standing behind him.

"Yes sir, but one had to be shot down, he was in a panic." She said smiling from under her mouth cover. Her eyes gleamed with a penetrating glare. It matched her fire red hair that danced like flame in the wind. She was armed with a belt of explosives.

"Good, stay here and patrol, check for any signs of the child's escape." He said stepping into a private half track. As the women turned around smiled even more. Then finally she heard the sound she wanted, an explosion and crashing of a heavy vehicle.

She began laughing and pulled the mask off her face and spoke into her intercom. "Major Rick is dead, Travis. The car bombing was a success." She said walking off into the desert.

Lana thought she saw a faint glow of orange-yellow light as she rolled over on the car seat. She was previously curled up on her side, sleeping strangely well.
Her dreams didn't know where to take her, but as always, they dumped her back into reality. However, this time, Lana realized that this world was definitely not a dream. It wasn't a cliched Alice in Wonderland plot, where it's all over once someone wakes up... it was perfectly real, and worse than her normal life. Yet strangely, Lana found this world much more interesting.

She disregarded the supposed flash of light as she turned over onto her other side and closed her eyes once again for her dreams to whisk her away to unknown places that can't be remembered in reality.

Toran walked over to a nearby lake. The moon's light was bright enough to see his reflection. He focused on Rhell's aura and studied the part of it that formed Rhell's image and voice. He made a copy of it, storing his own image elsewhere. Rhell was unaffected by Toran's practice because of this. Toran looked at his reflection and he looked just like Rhell. Toran finished his practice by finding his own image and focusing on it. When Toran returned to normal, he walked over toward his tent. He saw a bright flash of light, followed by smoke. He shrugged to himself, too tired to make sense of it all and walked to bed.

(morning time)

Rhell finished rolling his mat up and put it in the trunk. "Everybody up! We need to get a fast move on." Rhell was somewhat unsettled, he had no idea that the area was more military occupied than he thought. The explosion last night was what kept his mind in haste. Food, then breaking camp, and heading onward was their list.
