Prince nodded as he slowly picked himself up. He had a slight limp to his step, but he seemed to be otherwise fine. "Y.. yeah. I think I'm alright." He smiles at Ian, putting on a brave face through the twinge in his ankle. "So.. does this mean DarkTalon is dead?"

Ian pulled Prince's arm around his shoulders and braced his weight.
"We won," he grinned at his friend. "You're a really great General. But now we gotta go to the healers, m'kay? Gotta make sure it's not worse than you think it is."
He looked around, and a perplexed expression crossed his face. "Where did they go?"

He blinks and he looks around as well. "The last time I saw Gaunt he was with me at the climbing toy." He blinks and he furrows his brow. "I wonder where they went."
Probably just in time. It was getting a little tiring making out with Serenity. I mean, the lips were strong muscles and everything, but they could only do so much before they started to be tired. So Gaunt finally released Serenity from the prolonged girlfriend-boyfriend-style fun and opened his eyes to look lovingly at her face. "So all I have is what you got."

Ian set his jaw. "Then that's where we have to start looking," he nodded seriously. "Come on, I'll help you."
And he started towards the toy, helping Prince to limp along, bracing his weight so that Prince wouldn't have to use his injured ankle.
Serenity's eyes sparkled brightly when Gaunt lifted his head away from hers, but she kept her arms wrapped around him so that he couldn't step away from her.
"And I will never ask for anything more," she giggled, not even trying to move. She didn't want to ... she was quite happy to stay there with him, hidden away from the world. But then her smile faded the slightest little bit. "But we should check on the boys," she murmured, "who knows where they are by now ..."
Ian had a tendency to wander if she didn't watch him closely ...

Gaunt nodded slowly and he smiles, muttering softly. "You gotta let me go first, it's kinda hard to move around and look around when we're holding each other like this." He chuckles and he smiles warmly, moving out from behind the toy once he was released.
Prince blinked when Gaunt stepped out from behind the toy. It was so sudden. "H.. hey.. do you think.. there's.. something behind the toy people can disappear into?"

Serenity didn't want to, but she knew she had no choice. She let her arms slip from Gaunt's back, and as he headed around the toy she lingered for a moment to catch her breath. He was so ... amazing ... she still couldn't believe it.
Ian blinked and tilted his head curiously at Prince's question. "Like a portal?" he asked. "I don't think so ... Mom wouldn't go to another world without me ..."
At least, he hoped not.
"Hey Gaunt!" he called, waving his free arm. "Prince hurt his ankle! Better come see!"

Gaunt blinked when Ian called out to him and heard the news. He hurried over to his 'son' and he knelt down, picking up the ankle Prince was limping on and trying to check it out. It didn't seem to be obviously swelling, but that's all he really knew to check for. "Does it hurt a lot?"
"No.. not a lot.." Said Prince. Was he trying to man-up or was he telling the truth? Only he knew.

When Serenity heard Ian's voice saying that Prince was hurt, she took a deep breath to calm herself and hurried out from behind the toy. She saw Prince in Gaunt's arms, and hurried over to see if he was all right.
"What happened?" she asked anxiously.
Ian puffed up his chest proudly. "He was injured when he killed Lord DarkTalon!" he boasted. "He was so brave! You shoulda seen him, he's such a good swordsman!"

Gaunt nodded slowly. Again, as before, he really wasn't able to really tell what was going on. But it didn't seem that bad. "I think he just twisted his ankle. It doesn't seem to be sprained so he should be fine if he can walk it off." He chuckles and he gently ruffles the boys' hair. "And I thank you very much for saving the world!"
"The world?" Prince blinked, then pointed at the toy. "But all we did was save the castle." He then puffed up when Ian started to praise him, then he grinned at his friend. "I coudln't have done it if you weren't such a great archer, Ian!"

Serenity put one hand on Gaunt's arm and leaned forward slightly to look at Prince's ankle. It didn't seem too bad ... but it was a little swollen.
"Perhaps we should just rest for a while," she smiled at Prince. "Two such valiant soldiers deserve some rest and food after such a battle."
Ian's face flushed darkly. "Well, I gotta practice up for when I get my own bow," he grinned at Prince. "Mom, you said I could get one, right? When can I get one?"
Serenity knelt down to pick up Ian and hugged him tightly. "The next time we visit the Borderlands," she promised him yet again. "Soon."

Gaunt nods and smiles gently. "Yeah, sounds like a good idea. A feast for our two brave warriors!" He chuckles as he keeps Prince in his arms as he starts to head back toward their picnic spot. He glances over his shoulder at Serenity. The Borderlands? That must be the dangerous area.
Prince looked up at Gaunt. "Can I be trained too, dad?"
Gaunt shakes his head slowly and pats Prince's head with his free hand. "I don't think so, Prince. Maybe if we visited dangerous places like Serenity's family, I'd let you be trained, but we just don't need it."

Serenity blushed faintly. It wasn't that the Borderlands were dangerous ... it was traveling from place to place that could be. But didn't that go for some areas of Gaia as well?
Still, it made her wonder if maybe it wouldn't be such a good idea to invite Gaunt and Prince there for a visit, after all ... she had thought that it might be nice, but it sounded like Gaunt didn't want to go. She decided that she wouldn't say anything about it.
"There are still a lot of desserts left," she smiled, changing the subject again. "Cake and pie ..."
Ian grinned up at Serenity. "Cake for me, please!" he said brightly. "I know it's not ice cream cake but I like cake anyways!"

It wasn't so much that Gaunt didn't want to go. He was just under-informed. He didn't understand everything that was going on where Serenity lived. He just knew that if they visited the Borderlands, then Ian might learn an art of war. It made it sound dangerous. He gently set Prince in on the blanket as he clamored for some pie - especially if it was strawberry or blueberry - and whispers into Serenity's ear. "But wherever you will go, I will follow you. I don't care the potential for danger, I just want to be by your side."

Serenity blushed when Gaunt whispered into her ear, and she smiled widely as she nestled in next to him.
"I would love it if you would come with me sometime," she murmured back happily. "It really isn't dangerous ... but if Ian wants to learn archery, I won't stop him. My grandmother helps run a school for fighting, how could I tell him no? Though I would have my uncle teach him, rather than the school."
The school's second headmaster was ... scary to say the least.
Ian jumped out of Serenity's arms, oblivious to the conversation that was going on just above his head, and made a dash for the cake. He heaved at the lid of the container, trying to pry it off - but it was sealed tight, and he sat down, panting.

Gaunt smiles softly and he gently squeezes her hand. "Then how about next weekend? The job I work doesn't keep me long, I just work till noon every other Saturday. So I'll be available at two or three in the afternoon next Saturday." He smiles softly and he shrugs. "I don't have any real problem having Prince learn to fight, either. But now I don't know if he can handle self defense. I don't know if he's mature enough to know that it's only to be used as a last-resort self-defense."
Prince tried to get up and help Ian. But it hurt to put much pressure on it, and after feeling a stern look from Gaunt on the back of his head, he slowly sunk back down onto the blanket. Oh well, he'd just have to wait for the pie.
