"It's impossible, I've been cursed with eternal youth, cursed to drink the blood of my fellow living creatures... I'm not supposed to be cared about... My entire existence should be a sin... There's no way... there's no way..." she muttered to herself over and over and drew her sword.

"Ugh..." He asked Sykes for a little help as he lifted him into the branch beside hers. "Well... At least we can talk eye-to-eye now." He looked at her and gave her a sympathetic smile. "There's nothing wrong with being a vampire, Teresia. I mean, look at me, I'm half of one and I still have a horrible sense of humor and a personality, how bad could it be?"

"Do-don't come any closer... Stay away... STAY AWAY!!" Teresia started screeching again, genuinely afraid. She held the weapon as if it were a fragile barrier, trying to keep the distance between them.

Capell honestly was at his wits end. He didn't know what to do anymore. He grabbed the edge of the sword and pulled it out of her hands, cutting himself. "Oww, ow ow ow... Yeah... Totally worth it." He joked silently to himself as he held the sword.

Teresia came back to her senses at the sight of Capell cutting himself with her sword. "Wh-Why did you do this? You're bleeding everywhere!" she stared at him flabbergastedly and started fussing over his wounds. "I don't understand this at all..." she murmured in disbelief as she eased his pain.

Capell sighed and chuckled. "Do I honestly have to spell this out for you? I care about you. I. Care. About. You. I don't have any other way of saying it, Teresia, you're just there for me, so I wanna be there for you too." He felt like he was being really cheesy, but it was necessary to get the point across.

"You'd only go this far for someone you care about, huh? I'm sorry, but I've been fine on my own for so long now. I don't need anyone tagging along and causing me more problems," Teresia stated bluntly as she retrieved her weapon. "I apologize, but this is where we part ways."

Capell was absolutely caught off guard. He didn't even have a witty comeback for this, or some kind of 'let me explain' thing, all he had was confusion, a troubled look, and a "What are you talking about?"

"I'm telling you not to follow me. What you've done is enough, I'm grateful for that, but I feel that you're going to end up as dead weight one day," Teresia stated emotionlessly. "Leave me be."

He instantly blurted out an "Aha!" once she finished her statement and snapped his fingers. "The key words there 'one day', Teresia. I promise you that one day isn't any day soon." He promised with a smile. For all he knew it would probably be the next fight they were in, but he didn't want to make it seem that way.

Teresia shot him a pained look. "Capell, this isn't funny. There's nothing to celebrate. What I'm saying is 'Get lost.' Don't you understand? There is and will be nothing between us."

Ouch. Harsh. Hurtful. Any other adjective you could use to describe this scenario. Those words pretty much crushed Capell's spirit, so he decided that enough was enough and he gave up. He gave a sigh and leaned over. "I guess you're pretty dead-set on this decision, so I'll stop troubling you... But you're not gonna forget me." He rolled himself off his branch and tossed something up as he fell, having Sykes catch him and give him a safe landing. "You say we won't, but I have a feeling we'll see each other very soon, Teresia, so I'll see you later... Lova ya." He gave his farewell and walked into the thicker trees of the forest. Once he was gone, the fact sunk in that Capell had tossed up his flute to Teresia. "Obviously I'm not gonna give up. Jesus, I'm already a hypocrite, let's not make me a liar, too." He ranted, talking to himself aloud. He knew she could hear him if she wanted to, but couldn't tell if she really cared or not.

Teresia was breaking apart from the inside as she painfully hardened her resolve, but all of it shattered when she caught the object he'd thrown up at her: his flute. She looked down at him in disbelief as tears overflowed from her rose colored eyes. "CAPELL STRIFE YOU'RE AN IDIOT YOU KNOW THAT!?" she yelled at him in dismay while holding the flute close to herself.

Capell had picked a spot behind a tree where he could hear and see everything when needed and gave a slight shrug to himself and Sykes. "I suppose being an idiot is what makes me adorable, isn't it Sykes?" He silently joked as he pet his dragon, waiting to see what she'd do next. He also wondered where Arya and Darkheart were, considering during all this he hadn't head one thing from either of them.

"I HATE YOU CAPELL! I KNOW YOU CAN HEAR ME! I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU!" Teresia yelled while holding the flute and somehow maintaining balance on the branch. "...I really really hate you," she sobbed, her voice faltering. "Nobody's ever made me feel this way before, I hate you...! Ouch!" she exclaimed as Arethusa smacked her with her tail. The hatchling was still rather young, so she couldn't communicate well, but it was obvious that she was angry.
"A-Arethusa that really hurt! N-No way! You're... You're telling me t-to chase after him?! I can't do that, you know I can't!" She looked as if she were arguing against herself, but anyone who knew about dragons would know that wasn't the case. The little blue dragon gave up trying to send her back to Capell and tried a different method. "Wait... Sykes is really a girl? Why are you bringing up Sykes at a time like this?!" she asked as she burst out laughing.
Teresia finally stopped crying, and she was tracing the length of the flute with her fingers almost lovingly. "Thank you so much little friend. Hm... I wonder if I can still play this..." the girl asked out loud to herself. After a few moments of pondering, she stared at the instrument again sizing it up. She held the mouthpiece up to her lips and began to play a melancholy tune, gingerly placing her fingers over the holes along the shaft of the flute.
