Xander was surprised by the unorthodox, yet effective method. He quickly retracted his arm and managed to get the wood away from the pile, but Tiki's fingers brushed against the knuckles of his hands just as he did. He stood, "That's two...a bit unorthodox, but it worked." he said, it was possibly a compliment of some sort.

((MCCULLARD CAN TAKE A BACK SEAT BEFORE I BACKHAND THE LIFE OUTTA HIM.))
Tiki groaned. "Awwww, two? What the hell!" He grumbled as he removed the blindfold. "I wanna say that last one didn't count. I got you before you finished getting that piece." He rubbed his eyes tiredly.

((ok))
"Um..." Esther glanced down at her bag, and quickly took inventory. Though it was a little hard since her hands were full, "I think so. I at least have all my important stuff."
Now that she thought about it, she probably forgot her red pen in her room, but she didn't really need that. She could make due with a blue pen. And her cell phone was in her pocket. She would probably have to call her aunt and uncle sometime today. As far as they knew, she was working for a wealthy client for a few weeks, and was planning on moving there because she had found their was a lot of business. Which wasn't a total lie, she was just omitting some very important information.

Xander cocked an eyebrow, "You wanna say it didn't count?" Xander clarified, "That would mean a tie."

Gray nodded, and they boarded the plane bound for Nova Scotia. ((Gem, most likely we'll have a wait of about a day until we get all the arcs caught up. Zat OK?))
Tiki nodded as he yawned. "Damn right it's a tie!"

Tiki rubbed his head. "We wound up talking for a few hours, and we decided that it was, in fact, a tie. Damn guy is really stubborn." Connor shook his head in disbelief at his friend. "Tiki...you are just something. What happened with Xander? You didn't kill him, correct?" "Well..." Tiki trailed off uncomfortably. "Tiki!" Connor cried, standing. At that moment, the door banged open. "Doc Connor, meet Xander," Tiki said sheepishly.

Kurtis snorted, restraining laughter.
He wasn't very good at it; he fell out of the chair he sat in.

Xander tapped a finger against the wall impatiently, Why did I agree to come with him? he wondered to himself. Soon, he decided enough was enough, he was tired of waiting. Xander slammed the door open just in time to hear a man yelling Tiki's name, quickly followed by Tiki introducing Xander. Xander shot a glance Conner's way.

The morning was cold and crisp in Boston, she grew up here so she's always been used to the weather nipping at her skin. Niola strapped on her dark-grey army jacket and opened the front door to a blasting dry wind. As she got into her hybrid facing the east, she saw the very tip of the sun; about to warm the cool city at the start of another day. It was ridiculously quiet outside, and no lights were on around her. It was just another simple day: First she had to stop by the city council to schedule an appointment with the board of agriculture, then a few private appointments and finally a few hours to crank in at the old office. The wind was quick to die when she opened her front door and the inner-light turned on, as if the light distracted the weather itself. The cold air smelt slightly of cigarette tar and carbon monoxide, the fatal result of an ever-industrializing, expanding world. The drive to the city hall was slow and uneventful. At the first intersection, Dewey Avenue crossing O'Reilly Street, the traffic lights were out. In a normally crowded suburb, Niola considered this report to already be called into by a concerned neighbor. But keeping this in mind, Niola turned onto Dewey and made her way to the City Hall. Her feeling of isolation and inquiry furthered when she pulled into the parking lot of the Hall; abandoned, cold, and lifeless like the rest of the town. This random desertion of people in the work place was mind boggling to a city worker like Niola.

((I trust you guys to bring our new friend into the story. I'm a bit bogged down at the moment.))
Tiki looked at Kurtis. "Who's this?" he asked Connor, who had an identical expression at Xander. "Dr. Kurtis Sewell," he murmured vaguely. "Kurtis, this is Tiki Xero, world's most effective mercenary." He stepped towards Xander. "Dr. Connor MacMurray. Call me Doc." He held out a hand. Tiki shrugged and held out a hand to Kurtis. "Nice to meetcha." His shirt was a light blue.

Kurtis pushed himself up to his feet and shook Tiki's hand. "Nice to meet you too," he said, a smile on his face. Evidently, he found Tiki's story highly amusing. "How do you measure effectiveness?" he added.
