"You would be surprised." When Asher left, there was no indication or sound. He met Shido outside and together they took to the air.
(( Hm... what to do now? Skip forward say a week or so? ))

((XD Works for me. *chuckle*))
A week later, Mull is slowly moving around on his own two legs, leaning against the wall for support. He may be fast at healing, but any time he isn't using muscles, they tended to fall asleep and be very uncooperative until he uses them for a bit. His current goal was the kitchen, moonlight seeming to make his white hair and skin glow. He had even left his collar up in his room, not expecting any company, the vicious scar standing out even more in the light. Instead of in his usual pair of pants and gloves, he was wearing a pair of boxers, dark black silk with a blood red heart on the area that covered his left butt-cheek. He stops in the doorway to the kitchen, panting slightly from how uncooperative his legs were being tonight. And it was a full moon, he notices with a grimace before continuing into the kitchen and pulling the door open, leaning against it as he looks for something edible to catch his attention.

"Look at this. It would seem Shido's worry for you was unfounded." Nearby, Asher leaned against a counter top with arms crossed over his chest while watching Mull investigate the refrigerator.
(( Is there significance for him that it's a full moon? He's not part werewolf or anything right? :3 ))

((lol Nah, there's no significance, other than that's the type of moon that was out when a vampire tried to tear out his throat and left him for dead.))
Mull froze, shooting a glance over in Asher's direction. "What'd you bother coming back for...?" He mutters before finally grabbing a hunk of some unidentifiable meat out of the fridge and slamming the door shut, still leaning heavily on it once it was closed. It was obvious his legs were weak and could give out any second. "Figured that when you said you were leaving, that was it." He murmurs before biting a huge chunk out of the meat he'd grabbed, not caring if it was cooked or not. It's not like he could get sick off it, after all, and the raw meat seemed to help keep his darker side under control somewhat, or so he'd found out during his time alone.

(( Yeesh, is that all? xD; <3 ))
Asher shrugged and stood upright, as if to leave. "If you prefer, I will leave." In the time the coon had been gone, Mull had not come looking for Tunda. That could easily have been due to his injuries. But perhaps not.

Mull grimaces at the other, tails swishing slightly behind him. "Agh... Go, don't go, stay, don't stay... Doesn't matter, I guess. I don't want you to go, but I won't try to force you to stay." He says, frowning again. "I'm guessing you don't just take charge on your own?" He runs a hand through his hair in irritation, ignoring the streak of blood it left behind.

"No, you won't force me." He lifted a brow but had yet to actually blink while watching Mull. A latticework of moonlight fell across his face. "Take charge? Tell me, was my decision to leave you alone while you healed the wrong one?"

Mull sighs again, then shrugs slightly. "Depends on what exactly you were hoping to teach me when you decided to take off. At least being left alone helped me find something else that seems to keep my little evil side quiet." He motions with the hand still holding the bloody hunk of meat. "I probably wouldn't have found this out if I hadn't been left on my own. Since I couldn't very well bloody walk or hold myself up one armed to cook anything, I had to eat whatever I could reach, which, coincidentally, turned out to be exactly this." He didn't mention that he had also slept on the floor during that time, having not had the strength to haul himself back up into bed after dragging himself back up the stairs each time. By now, though, his arms were the strongest part of his body. "So, if you're expecting me to clap and shout with glee about this whole incident, it isn't going to happen. I honestly don't know what I'm feeling anymore. My days blurred from one to the next. I've even stopped cutting myself, apparently, during that time." He says, motioning to the areas on his body that had held fresh scars the last time the other had been there, the scars now looking old and mostly healed, with no sign of any new injuries anywhere. "So, tell me, Asher, just what exactly was leaving me supposed to teach me? Granted, I did miss being taken care of, but, in the end, I guess it did me good to deal with this on my own." He frowns, eyes looking very unsure and uneasy now, as if afraid that he'd said the wrong thing.

"While I was away, I spoke with Shelby. He is currently researching the procedure we discussed earlier. Apparently, it all hinges upon whether your two personalities are actually two separate entities or just facets of the same." He leaned against the counter again. "If they are one entity, you will die. Your personality will be ripped apart and that will be the end of it; or... if there is enough of you left to do so, will take back control. You would likely be completely insane and your psychological damage irreparable. However, if they are separate entities, one or both could be transferred to new bodies. If your body is weak, like it has been, you could also die. The strain would kill you. And... the dominant personality would likely choose which body he resides in."
The coon shrugged. "My purpose in leaving you was to make you rely on yourself and to learn to control your other self. It would appear that it was working. Why you did not know how before this is beyond my understanding."
(( I hope all of this sounds feasible. I'm kinda making it up as I go. I mean I've thought about it, but I have no other reference but... what I know of possessions and Tale of the Body Thief, which I read something 10 years ago? xD; <3 ))

((XD Seems fine to me. *nodnod*))
Mull raises an eyebrow at the explanation, then gives a small nod. "Alright.. Well, I didn't think there wouldn't be any risk involved. Although, I did wonder why exactly I bothered to keep living." He frowns slightly at that. "Might have just been my darker side trying to influence me, but, well, since I'm still alive and doing better, he obviously failed in that. Maybe he's weaker than me now?"

"With that same attitude as before? Perhaps he is simply disgusted. Or bored." Of course if that was true, Asher might have his hands full. He had been mildly curious to see what would have happened if Zelgadis and Mull had not started bitching and carrying on. What would Mull have done? And why didn't he display any displeasure at having Shido in the room, along with Zel? "Why did you live, Mull? Did you want to? Or did you only stay alive because you did not want to kill yourself?"
(( Don't encourage him, Asher. e.e; ))

((*shakes a finger at Asher*))
Mull flinches slightly at Asher's words, looking towards the floor, much as he had stared at his covers a week before. "I don't ******** know, alright? I'm trying to think positive here, that I can finally be rid of the monster... You're not helping, you know." He growls out, tails fuzzing slightly behind him. "If all you're going to do is ridicule me, get the ******** out. Being ridiculed and questioned about why I bothered to keep myself alive aren't going to help me get better." He slams the hunk of forgotten meat down on the counter island between him and Asher, the meat pulverizing and shattering easily under the force of the blow. "Thing is, I probably should have died. Taken the damn monster out in one blow. But, the fact remains that I didn't. I was feeling proud of myself for not giving in to what he wanted. Haven't even ******** gone back to mutilating myself. Then you show up and shatter what little sanity I thought I had gathered." He still wasn't looking up at Asher, silent tears running down his cheeks that he didn't want the other to see.
((Damnit Asher! *flails at* Lookit hiiiim... *whine*))

(( .... *kicks at Asher* D< ))
"You keep asking why you lived. You could spend your entire life wondering why. You can move on, but first you have to stop asking why. Does the answer really matter? You lived. That is what matters." Mull was right though. He was better off figuring this out for himself. He turned to leave the kitchen. "Good luck, Mull."

Mull merely keeps his head down, still refusing to allow the other to see his face. He doubted the other really cared, truth be told. Figured Asher was just keeping part of the bargain that had been made for Tunda's freedom.

This was certainly not the intended outcome. Mull was so fragile to begin with, and attempting to balance himself allowed for any little thing to set him off. It was counter-productive that the hybrid dwelled on the 'why am I alive,' question. So far the vampire's approach was not helping. He was no diplomat, his snide side-comments had always been scathing at the very least, and trying to force Mull to come to his own conclusion to his ever-present question was not working either. For all of his faults, Asher's intention had been to help. His motives were anyone's guess, of course. But Shelby needed him of sound mind if Mull had any hope of separating from his other self. And even if it was not to be, he needed to learn to control this other self. He was actually progressing well so far.
He needs someone to support him. Someone like his father. Asher almost said this aloud. He needs someone else here, at least until Shelby and Mull were ready. (Shelby himself was entirely out of the question; he was even more fragile than Mull!)
He stopped and looked over his shoulder, nose peeking around, eye shining faintly from the curtain of blonde hair. "Why did you want me to stay?" he asked quietly, tail flicking uncertainly. "I am the last person that should be here with you now." That was not what what he had meant to say!
(( *pets Asher* xD ))
