Furia stood up, an automatic action of ice bending under her feet made a platform, so she wouldn't fall, but this had apparently no help since she was weakened. A cacophony broke out when the ice shattered under her feet, leaving her exposed to falling, but the way she reacted left her hovering.
She had summoned another Spirit, a quick one for help, just to hold her up on the slanted trestle.
"Yes...I did see it..." Furia replied airily.

Gladious sensed another spirit, and was about to find where it was hiding and kill it when he realized it was what was keeping Furia from falling. "Why do you summon these...things...if they could hurt someone--even you?" He took a step away from Furia for two reasons: To give her space, to stay away from the spirits he understood so little about.
Waaah! gonk Your name is inappropriate! I have to make sure my Mom doesn't see it! crying

Furia looked at Gladious in a hurt kind of way. Her eyes were painted with tears that she wouldn't allow to fall. Her vision blurred. "I summon them half of the time and I don't even know it; I'm defective...That's why I am so weak..." One of the tears escaped her flooded eyes and fell onto the icy trestle. "..But I summon them on my own sometimes...Usually for help and assistance....Like this one here:" She indicated the Good Spirit holding her up. She then shifted her movement, and the Spirit carried her down to the horizontal roof of the castle and disappeared.
Furia sat down, "To me...Some of the Spirits are like friends...Some of them will stick around until they've decided it's time to move on..." Oh, sorry...but if you want me to change it: I'll need 30k. ^_^;;;

Gladious felt as if he had hurt her by asking the question, and he regreted the words even leaving his mouth. But when she said the word "Defective" refering to herself, Gladious couldn't not do something about it. He took a step toward her and hugged her as tight as he could without hurting her. Taking her by the shoulders, he looked her in those beautiful dark eyes and said these heartfelt words, "You will never be defective to me, Furia. Never say that about yourself." Feeling he might have already gone too far, Gladious put some distance between himself and Furia, but he was still fairly close to her. Inwardly he thanked The Annoyance for giving him the words he needed. "I know I would never have come up with those words by myself. Thanks, Phoenix."
Yeah...heh...whatever, kid. I'd do it any time.
What The Annoyance would never admit to Gladious, was the fact that the Phoenix had done nothing to help the words flow from Gladious's lips.
Ah, I'll be fine at that price smile

She looked at him, her warm icy eyes still flooded with salty clear tears. Furia took a shaky breath and looked into Gladious, taking in his intuition, his thoughts and feelings, and his mentality - but she stopped herself from going deeper, glancing down at the glazed floor, then back up, dropping a few tears when she jumped at him, wrapping her arms around him in a magnanimous embrace. She knew it would be bad to return any feelings to him, but she felt obliged to at least be a friend.

When her arms wrapped around him, he was in heaven. His heart felt as if it could jump out of his chest and dance the tango! Such an extravagant feeling made him laugh heartily. He called upon the Curse to give him wings, he took Furia to the heights of the castle. He wondered if she had ever seen the world from this high up. Realizing he had overreacted and tried to play Superman, he cascaded down to the roof top and set her down. "I'm sorry...I..."

Furia bit her bottom lip, then stepped away from him and stared out at the skyline. "Ironic, isn't it?" She glanced back over at Gladious, looking him in the eyes, her own were free of emotional tears. She laughed half-heartedly, "When you came here, your intentions were different from what they are now."
She glanced over at the sunset again, her face scrunched up a little. Then she quickly leaned forward and sneezed, nearly knocking herself off the edge of the castle. When I read your post, I was listening to "On The Wing" by Owl City. If you have never heard of Owl City, then I -please- advise you to visit my profile and -keep your speakers low to begin with- then go to song 11. ;D Oh yeah, "On The Wing" just seemed to go with your post. =D

Gladious was right there to steady her. He grabbed her by the shoulder and gently pulled her back from the edge. "You're right, Furia. When I came here, I was following a 6th sense that was annoying me. Now I'm mingling with them! I tried eating your soul..." he pushed an awkward smile, he sat down on the edge of the roof and hugged his legs. He looked much like a dark angel, his majestic black wings folded behind him. His mentality was placid stillness; focused on one thing. FuriaKay ^^ I will!

Furia looked down at the ground kind of awkwardly. "Gladious..." she said smoothly, "..I...I don't have a soul..." She recalled what had happened when he had attempted to eat her soul...Like it had just happened seconds ago; the energy shot back at him. Realizing that may have hurt him, she blurted out, "Oh! Are you okay?" She complacently landed a soft hand on his shoulder, almost in a caring manner, like she had injured him.

Gladious knew what Furia meant, because he was remembering that same moment when he realized Furia wasn't an average girl. "Y...yeah, Furia. I'm alright. But if you don't have a soul, how can you care if I'm okay? The soul carries the bearer's feelings. If someone not of Soulpyre descent tried to feast on a soul, the previous owner of that soul's feelings would meld with the person and he would never be the same."
Gladious shivered a little bit. He realized he wasn't wearing anything but a tank top and some light-weight pants. Wrapping his dark wings around Furia and himself, he said, "Why don't we get you inside? Its cold out here." Only a few seconds after he said that, he realized that the frigid temperatures comforted them. The contrast of pale skin on blushing cheeks was so apparent that Gladious was only doomed to be embarrassed even more.

Furia shot a slight glare into Gladious' eyes. "There is a difference between what I can't tell you, and what I won't tell you; keep that in mind..." Her voice had been stiff, a bit offensive, and very cruel in tone. She took herself aback after having heard his caring suggestion. Why don't we get you inside? It's cold out here. rang through her head...She softened herself again, having felt bad for going off at him a little, so she decided to apologize in her own way, "Well...We could stay out here and have me watch you blush, or we can go inside for a warm meal. Only TonEsma knows how hungry we are..." She smiled warmly, standing up.

With a push of his wings, Gladious was up on his was on his feet, the wings disappearing. His face was full of a big, rare smile, showing he was still a fifteen year old after all. Jumping down off the roof, he raised his hands up to catch Furia when she jumped down. He realized she could use one of her Spirits to let her down softly, but he left his arms up anyway.
Sorry it was short. I'm going to go walk around outside. Its sunny and windy here! smile

Furia let out a smile of her own when she made up her mind to jump off the roof and into Gladious' arms. She felt like she was eight again, swimming in the hot springs with...she had forgotten. Who was it she was swimming with? Was she even eight? She shook her head, still recalling the hot springs, but she knew that there weren't any in the Valley of Eternal Snow, or anywhere near the Valley.
Why was she thinking of that hot spring now, all of a sudden? Sailing through the air into Gladious' arms must have triggered it, but she kept herself quiet about the hot springs and kept on a happy facade...Even though her thoughts kept trailing back...
What happened after the hot spring? What happened before? Was that even me? Or was it a soul melded to me that Gladious mentioned...?

He caught her with ease and spun her around to get her into the castle. He laughed heartily, though he could feel his adrenaline going, as any boy's would when his crush interacted with him. As soon as he was in the door, his hunger promted him to sniff the air for what was for dinner. Though his elven nose could smell the lovely food, he couldn't make out just what it was. He'd have to wait and be suprised. "Uh-umm...thank you very much for your hospitality." He had voiced the words that he had left written on a card for all those who had housed him in his travels. Though these words had come instictively, he wondered if it was his signal that he was to leave. As they were walking through the hallways on toward the lovely smell, Gladious grabbed Furia's hand with true love and said, "I'm not leaving you. Never."
The Annoyance cut into one of Gladious's pauses for the right words. What he means is-- He put up a mental barrier so the Phoenix couldn't talk anymore through his audible thoughts. "No, I truly mean that I am staying here with you forever. All my life I've wanted to feel like an ordinary fifteen year old. I'm finally experiencing what its like!"

Even though she was nearly twenty-one years of age, Furia smiled, knowing that Gladious was older and probably didn't care about her age. After watching him sniff the air, she felt inclined to. She let out a relaxed sigh, "Ahh....Cabatte Rose...and..." she sniffs again, "Glacier Lait!"
Furia grabbed Gladious' hands and said excitedly, "Come on! It's the good stuff!" She laughed and started running off to the Great Hall.
