The catgirl smiled at Santaiel as he entered the master's chamber. Anya was only playing with him because she thought it would bother him; the big strong male afraid of a little blood was a little abrasive and absurd, and they both knew it. She followed with the polearm in one hand and the other at her side. "Well, it is a mess in here... We're after the key, though I don't think Lady, excuse me, miss Lana would mind if you helped yourself to what you'll need in the mean time." She began searching the various small boxes on the master bureau and a small dresser next to it before she called over her shoulder to the man searching behind her, "Maybe a night stand? Have you checked those, Santaiel? Not where I'd keep the key to my weapons and armor, but you can never tell with these courtly types," she finished as she closed the last drawer on the dresser. "There's some underclothes in here that look like they might fit you, if you tore the sleeves off, perhaps," she added with a gesture to the dresser.

((OOC: Need to find a picture of Santaiel, now that he's a main-ish character.))

Lana had been busying herself packing a canvas bag full of Marianna’s and her own belongings. It was filled with mostly the child’s clothes and toys, along with a few trinkets and heirlooms Lana either didn’t want to part with or thought would be worth something at the market. She also left room for food and any money or gold she could scrounge up.

Across the hall, the harsh, metallic smell of the blood offended and overwhelmed Santaiel’s nose. He cupped and rubbed his hand on his nose in a very canine-like gesture.
“It’s either Lady Lana or Lana – not miss,” he snarled at Anya. He eyed her as she started rummaging through drawers and dressers and did as she instructed. He glowered at Anya when she mentioned the underclothing that could fit him. He looked down at his bloodied and torn clothes and scowled even more. He stamped over to the man’s dead and mauled body, pulled the collar of the nightshirt away from the man’s neck and grabbed at something underneath. He then snatched at the leather throng and tore it from the man’s throat with a snap. He threw the necklace at the catlady. “Here. It was a hunch,” he said roughly.

"Hmm, a little touchy for a slave," was Anya's response to Santaiel's first comment. She just managed to catch the bloody cord with the brass key tied to it before it hit her chest. She cracked a sly smile at him with a c**k of her head, "Hey, would you look at that, you just might be of use afterall..." She winked at him before she turned and left the room.

The catgirl slipped the key into the lock and opened the chamber door. As she expected due to Lana's account, there wasn't a lot to work with. Anya glanced across the walls and cases and noted a set of armor that would probably fit the former slave. She poked her head back out into the hall and called for Santaiel to follow her, then set to work on finding some articles that she could make work for herself.

((Too lazy to do it myself, I have discovered an image that bares decent resemblance to my character. I hereby present it to you for your occular pleasure... pirate ))

((Well, that's what she'd normally wear in a contemporary setting. It's not too far from what she'd wear in her normal setting (if she had her way), but... Well, we'll just leave it at that for now. I don't wanna drop any spoilers, even in meta-gaming.

As for at the moment, she is wearing much more than that. A slip sort of thing and a pair of silk pants, if I'm not mistaken, as borrowed from the lady's wardrobe; soon to be something far more functional biggrin Well, maybe more functional in a relative sense... The Kaelan race doesn't really like clothing. They prefer more flowing, nonrestrictive garments. Think middle eastern or Egyptian, you know, warm climate kinds of raiment. She's especially risque, and there's more than one reason for it, but again, I'll not delve into that here smile ))

"I don't see why you can't," came a soft, feminine voice. A pair of large golden cat-like eyes glistened from the shade of the trees, full attention on the cute young man they now rested on. His hair was long, and to her, that just made him even more entertaining than he would've liked. She felt the slight urge to bat at it, but decided against it. Still, she stalked a bit closer, interested only in finding out who and what this guy was. He didn't smell like just any old person, and his scent was vaguely familiar, but she couldn't remember exactly what it belonged to.
"Who are you? What are you? And, what are you doing out here? Aren't you afraid..?"

(OOC: LOL at Pandemonium's comment. hheheheh -snickers-))

He blushed at her wink. Quickly turning his head, he half-scowled, half-pouted.
Stupid cat, he thought. He watched her as she walked out of the room, presumably going to unlock the other door. As soon as she exited, Santaiel covered his nose again, this time with his shirt. Good heavens! It stinks to high heaven in here! He looked around the room, pawing at things with his unoccupied hand and gently toeing things with his foot. Finding nothing interesting, he turned to leave the room. Then a faint whiff of something dainty and a spot of light blue cloth caught his eye. He walked over to the window seat and lifted the cushioned upholstery. Underneath was a few documents and odds and ends and a small, vellum bound book. It was light blue in colour with gold leaf trimming. The pages were manila and it had a small golden lock on its side. However, the cloth that had caught his eye was a beautiful light blue ribbon with a blue and white cameo on it. Santaiel tentatively reached for the necklace and gently picked it up, fingering the soft band. He noticed the choker was made for a very small person. He then traced the intricately carved face of the lady on the cameo; when he did, he felt something on the back of the charm and turned it over. There was an odd mechanism and a small inscription. Before he could squint and make it out, he heard Anya calling for him from the other room. He pocketed the choker and the little book and swiftly walked out the door. When he got to the room he poked his head in and frowned at her, “What?”

((Oh, don't mind Panda; she's just jealous that she doesn't look that good, that's all... ninja ))

The Kaelan girl looked over at Santaiel from the few pieces of armor she was working with. "Over there," she pointed to a glass case housing a full set of royal armor. "I think the lord bequeathed you his battle raiment. It might do you some good, Santaiel." She turned her attention back to the pieces before her; her feline ears levelled down and her tail flicked from side to side as she fit pieces of armor together and wove straps through permanent and improvised eyes to create a light armor she could use without limiting her abilities. Among the parts before her lay the pauldron she was working on now, a steel tasset, a banded chest piece, and a small dagger she was using to dismantle them with.

The feminine voice of his observer left him wondering just what was behind that innocent voice. He took a moment of thought before he opened his eyes to answerd her "My name is Fey." He said aloud unsure of where to turn his head. "I'll gladly answer all your questions if you show yourself. Id just like to put a face to your voice."

The thought of wearing something that belonged to that man physically sickened him. A man that was cruel and owned slaves; was speciesist and racist; a man that was mean to his child and beat his wife. No. He could not. Santaiel growled deep in his throat, the sound came unbidden. His voice became deeper and harsher, “No, cat. I will not wear the clothes of this man. Never will his filth touch my skin ever again.” His eyes flashed as a fire glowed in them, the colour of his irises growing to block out the white. He closed his eyes, took a deep breath, pulling the air through his nostrils and calmed himself. When he opened his eyes again, they were slowly going back to normal. In a gentler, less agitated voice, he addressed Anya, “How can I help you otherwise, Lady Redclaw?” He walked into the room and stood readied to assist.

(( Oh, please. I look good, I just don't flaunt my half naked body to look it[ anymore]. ))

The demoness stepped out from the safety and shade of the bushes revealing a small, thin, and slightly tanned body, the most notable features about the woman being her short white dress, glowing gold eyes, and the shiny golden anklet that sat on her left foot. Long dark locks fell down her chest and shoulders soft, straight, and clean. The lady waited quietly for his response.

The perceptive feline observed Santaiel as he seemed to lose control, yet she also noticed something more. She ignored the harshness of his words and decided to let them go unchecked in order to avoid provoking him further.

Anya grinned in response to his offer to assist her. She spun around in a single graceful movement and pointed a finger at his nose, "Now I thought I told you once already that all that courtly Lady and Lord and whatnot was not my cup of tea, Santaiel," she said with a delibetately poor imitation of a scolding tone. "You can call me Anya, you know. I'm not going to have you stoned for that," she said as she threw a small leather satchel at him, which bounced off of his chest and fell to the ground. "You can help me carry this stuff back to the child's room. I don't need to be in here to work on this stuff, and this way Lana can see to the things she needs to while we watch the child." She put a few items onto the tablecloth on the side table, "That is, unless you still want to watch her. I can stay in here if you want," she finished with a mock pout to her words.

He snarled his nose instinctively at her pointing finger. The grimaced even more as the bag bounced off his chest because of her lightning fast speed. He bent down and picked up the satchel, only half listening to her rattle away. He stiffened at her pouting tone and huffed in response, standing up and holding the satchel open for her. He gave her a mean look and remained silent. While she was placing things in the bag, he looked around the room, taking in the assortment of finery. When she had finished, he pulled the draw strings and lead them back to the child’s room, carrying the bag like Anya had requested. He rested his hand briefly on the door handle when suddenly his head jerked up. He quickly trotted back down to the Lord’s second room and grabbed a plain, but sturdy, short sword. He gently set down the parcel and shifted the sword, testing its weight. He bounced it from hand to hand and made a few swift swipes. Satisfied, he snatched the accompanying scabbard, belted it around his waist, picked up Anya’s bag and jogged back down to where he had left her. Briefly meeting her eyes and then quickly looking away, he addressed her, “Shall we go in now…Anya?” He said her name quietly.

Anya quietly giggled to herself as she opened the door, "See, that didn't kill you, now, did it, Santaiel?" She strode into the room and glanced over to Lana, "Hope we didn't keep you waiting. We can keep watch over your daughter if you need to gather up anything else, Lana." She smiled gently at the mother, "Not to worry, I'll keep them both in line," she finished with a full fledged smile as Santaiel entered the room. "And," she added with a bit of excitement, "I found some useful items amongst the Lord's effects. I think I can fashion a set of armor from the scraps I've taken up. That, and working out something more comfortable to wear will keep me busy, so don't feel too rushed. I can't smell that lycan, either, so I think we've got some time."
