Teddy reacted with a startled yelp and clung to Markus like lint. Was Markus actually... skipping? He had found himself one strange vampire to get to know. He was still pretty stunned when Markus finally set him down. "Hey, Sam. Oh, hello again, ground." Teddy chuckled and shook his head, still in disbelief that he'd been carried here.

Sam, unfortunately, hadn't heard Valentine, since she was too shocked by her allies coming into view.
[[I'd place Valentine's response before Markus and Teddy came to the booth, but when they were in sight/out of earshot. That'd make the most sense.]]

I gasped again. More shocking than Sam working at the Circus - random much? - was the voice speaking to her. Although, if she was working here now, the voice should've been expected.
"Valentine," I gasped. The rumors about him were far from quiet. They spread around the District like wildfire - mostly just between vampires, since no one else was too concerned with him. But he wasn't the nicest man to hang around. I shot Sam a glance that clearly asked Why?

Sam, however, like to everything else, simply ignored Markus' glance, and handed him two tickets.[[hahah XD]]

He quickly snapped into his usual creepy self, "Hahaha, a friend of yours, well if you're as interesting as she is you'd definately wanna check out my oddities. Quickly, quickly, give me your $10 each and let us show you something entertaining, haha." He said glancing at them with his creepy smile.

Teddy couldn't say it was very comforting that Markus seemed so shocked and out of sorts by Valentine... whoever the heck that was. The guy was kind of creepy, but not really that over top. So Teddy could only assume Markus just knew something he didn't. He shuffled his feet nervously and latched onto Markus' arm. In the back of his mind it occurred to him he was acting like the stereotypical easily frightened girl. He looked to Valentine with obvious confusion, but he couldn't exactly out and ask why he made Markus react oddly. So Teddy said nothing as Markus led him into the Circus.

Sam blinked, and her face went bright red.
M-'My pet'?, she thought.
She was scolding herself, trying not to get too presumptuous, and then went back to her staring contest with the floor.

I composed expression enough to manage a glare at Valentine as I forked over the twenty dollars.
"And some cotton candy for Teddy," I said through my teeth, trying to keep my cool. "How much more will that cost, O Masked Wonder?" I smirked.

"Well, I just so happen to have some right here," he said pulling a cone of pink, fresh, cotton candy," $1." he answered the sarcastic man's question. "Hope you enjoy your visit," he said turning around after getting the money and giving the cotton candy up, "Sam, will you please come with me?" he asked as he strode back to his office.
