"Hmm. Most distressing." Raiden growled, at which point Brindle stood.
"Thank you Raiden, you may go."
The liger looked up and then bowed his head carefully.
"I hope I have been of some help to you. And rest assured Lady Calyn..." he turned to leave, glancing back over his shoulder. "We will do our best to get to the bottom of this as quickly as possible."

Once he had gone Brindle motioned for the circle to be drawn tighter. "So there we have it." She growled. "Two assassins covering their scent with blood, and one who works in the shadows. I wish we had more to go on." She was silent for a moment before putting forth the thought at the back of her mind. "We need a cat that can go easily unnoticed within the pride. Someone that fades into the background." By this she did not mean literally, she would be little better than the assassin's themselves if she sent a spy in her own pride. No, she needed someone who was blatantly there, but easily ignored.

Raiden strode from the cave with purpose in his step. Once in the shadows of the cliffs however he slipped close to the rocks, making himself almost invisible against the sandstone walls.
The cave where he would meet Azure stood practically hidden in a tiny corner on the east side of the cliffs, facing away from the main pride lands. The entrance was covered in thick brush and he had difficulty squeezing through.
The ocelot would be here soon..and Raiden had a plan.

((*sigh* Type out a post, actually somewhat long for once, and the internet dies on you...))

Calyn dipped her head to acknowledge Raiden, hiding a wince as she moved when the circle was tightened. "Someone lower in the ranks, a subordinate. Perhaps newly so, just out of the cubs' den. And, perhaps an outrider? They'd have more access, and there's more of them than hunters. A den-watcher not with the cubs would be noticed. Wait, Tami, how often do cats see you?" she asked, turning to face the leopard.

"Um, I'm usually with Zephre, or running back to the den for something. Cats would notice if I was by myself, just because I'm never alone, and Zephre... Well, he usually doesn't go unnoticed." Tami said nervously, shifting uncomfortably. She hadn't thought they'd pay any attention to her, much less that she'd be brought up.

Calyn nodded, looking back to the others with a slight shrug. It had been worth a try, as the apprentice healer didn't demand attention like some cats did.

Seph lazed just off to the side of everyone else, his long tail flicking back and forth as he half slept. Feeling an ich, Seph rolled onto his back, wiggling his back and torso into the dirt to scratch himself. His paws went into the air like he was trying to need it as he did this motion.

After, satisfied with scratching the ich, he flopped to one side, opening an eye to watch the others for a moment before closing it again, his ears could do most of his work for him. His tail continued to flick here and there

Outside, Gado continued to pace back and forth in front of the cave as he had been for the last several hours. He seemed to be brooding about something, but given the Lynx's often less then friendly disposition in these situations, it was likely no one was willing to talk to him for the moment. His ear flicked slightly as a bird flew over heard, causing him to stop pacing and sit. For a few moments he simple glared at the scenery around him.

Sahari sat, listening to the council meeting with a vague expression. Her ears swivelled, catching everything that was said, but she couldn't pick up anything underlying the words. Her misty green gaze flickered between Raiden, Mahora, Brindle and Calyn. Tail-tip twitching, she curled it around her forepaws and glanced at Bianca as Raiden left the council den. If Sahari could handle being away from the cubs for so long, she would offer herself up for the job, but she knew that would never happen. Instead, the Sand Cat remained silent.

"Time out?" Jasper cried, eyes widening. "But there was nothing there!" He squirmed, held down by his mother's paws, before subsiding, though his he pouted greatly to show his discomfort. As Zephre spoke to Konya, before beginning his tale, Jazzie's ears pricked up. "I wanna be an Outrider - they have more fun!" he murmured quietly to himself as his mom freed him. Instead of wandering off again, the small black panther settled down by Zephre to hear the Healer's story.

"My loyalty is to the Pride," he replied quietly, blinking at Mira. "Though I know what you mean - for one used to solititude, for one not born in the Pride, it does taking some time getting used to." He nodded, giving her another small smile and looking at the other Clouded Leopard. This must have been the most he had spoken in such a limited time in his living memory. "Sometimes I slip away and hunt in the forest by myself," he admitted with a rueful grin, showing off his large fangs and sending his trophey scars on his cheeks rippling across his tawny fur.

"I would love to hunt more in the forest that is what I miss most. It's why I spent the night in the forest last night." Mira grinned as well and sat up. She bumped him gently with her shoulder, "Tell me next time and I'll go with you if you want."

Cirro nodded, nudging Mira's shoulder with his muzzle in response. "I will, and thank you," he purred, his eyes bright. He sat back, his tail twitching as he blinked gratefully at the she-leopard before his gaze swept over the surrounding lands; he took in the forests, before looking thoughtfully towards the western plains.

Mira looked at him wondering why he had thanked her. "No problem." She laid back down and returned to cleaning her paws. After a short time she rolled onto her back in an attempt to scratch, then rolled back over, ending up with her paws touching Cirro. She sat up, putting space between them. "Sorry had an ich."

Bianca kept quiet, observing the features and statements of each cat, remaining calm, her face completely relaxed. She did meet Sahari's gaze about Raiden's exit though and felt her intensity.

Moving into the closer circles, Bianca spoke when she got the chance on the subject. "My friends, I personally the job is for an outrider. Den watchers are not busybodies outside our territory. Hunters are gone most of the day. Outriders are basically own sort of policing and can wander about group to group without being noticed. I also assure you my den will not be under investigation in the first place because Konya, Sahari, Zephre, and myself were all there and can speak of one another. Our ringleader is not of my fraction."

"I agree that someone is pulling the strings from what I heard. The cats, if it was a personal problem, would not have been hesitant and caused more damage. Which causes a defiant problem. Who is the leader, and who is following them. Therefore there are multiple perpetrators of which we have very little information about."

"I suggest we have the outrider choosing, and then see what develops. Everyone be on their toes and observe one another. Especially the younger hunters and outriders since they could be easily manipulated. Then, we shall meet again tomorrow, this group here, only, and discuss once more before we take invasive action." Her eyes gazed into every other cats for a moment each as she spoke.

"Everyone just be on your toes and keep extra protection for Calyn. I suggest she stay in the den with the cubs, but truthfully I am tentative. I would not want to put the cubs’ lives in danger." It was nothing personal. It was her job, the cubs come first.

Bianca ended her speech with a little bow and raised her head to hear what the others had to say.

Brindle sympathized with Bianca's concern.
"I think we can assume that the leader may have been involved in the previous assassinations. If that is true then to avoid discovery this far and to organize yet another assassination they have proved to be cunning. That same cunning would prevent them from attacking their target anywhere near then den. However..."
Brindle stole a glance at her second, knowing how she would feel about being confined to the den like a newborn.
"I don't think that option is open in any case. You are right in suggesting the outrider choosing though Bianca, I suggest as many of us attend as possible, we will all look for odd behavior. Keep in mind though, this traitor could well be a hunter. I regret that I do not know some of mine as well as I would like."

Zephre finished his story and sat up, flicking his tail gently.
"All right. What would you like to do next?" He asked in a playful tone.

Kiros stood up on all fours after hearing everyone talking. "If an another assasination may be in order, then shouldn't we now send escorts with Calyn?" Kiros said with a somewhat concerned tone, in truth he did not know what to do he was used to taking orders and he found it simplier that way. "speaking as a hunter madam, how should us hunters act now? Should we asume a more outrider position or continue on like normal?" He said trying to figure out more of what he should do. Once he was finished speaking he sat back on his haunches again.

"Oh, I must have mislead you, my friend. I agree that hunters are suspects as well. If there is a leader with multiple followers, some could be outside teh pride, hunters, and outriders. There are many possibilities."

Turning to Kiros, she continued, "I was also tryingto say that Calyn needs protection, but currently her wounds make movement for her difficult. I was simply trying to give ideas on how to protect her with less movement on her part. Especially because she is also vunerable this way. Giving her guards is appropiate but we can not narrow our veiws of her being the only traget if they too are also responsible for earlier deaths. Brindle, you too may be in trouble being the strong leader and fighter you are."

"All our best adn brightest may be in trouble. So sticking to Calyn's safety so largely will lessen our other defenses."

Bianca was quite again.

Kiros stood back up to answer bianca, "you speak the truth, anyone could be targets especially leaders. It is very true that we cannot expend all efforts on protecting Calyn. But what do you suggest we do exactly? Should everyone stop daily routines as a precotion?" The hunter spoke bodly more than he intended and realized.

"And then how would we eat? How could we observe the populace for suspicious behavior if everyone stopped their normal routine?" Thela snapped. She didn't mean to sound irritated, but it made the most sense for various outriders to do the brunt of the investigations. They typically wandered amongst the others in the pride, and would create the least amount of suspicion, and keep up to their jobs too. If the hunters stopped hunting, or changed their strategies to keep them closer to home, it could mean less meat for the pride.

She would have volunteered herself for that outrider position, to skulk around, but she wasn't too sure if she'd have the patience for it. To go about, unnoticed. She would let Mahora give his suggestions on who it would be.

"No one should stop their routine. If we have one or two outriders and hunters to investigate within their factions, then don't we have the whole pride covered? It's been decided that is wasn't a den-watcher, leaving only the hunters and outriders. And quite frankly, I think it wasn't a hunter. The tiger was an outrider or an outsider, but he could have been one of the recent exiles due to, the assassinations. Hunters always go in pairs, we would have to be looking for two cats if it were a hunter. Outriders however, correct me if I'm wrong Thela, are free to come and go by themselves in their patroling. It would be easier for an outrider to slip away by themself." Calyn said, looking between the other cats.

"Also, we shouldn't pull cats away from their duties for my sake. Until I've healed, I'll stay in whatever den Zephre decides to put me in. After that, with the exception of Brindle, only one other would need to stay with me." she added quietly, staring at the ground before her paws. She didn't like it, she didn't want to be protected.

Kiros hesitated for a moment from Thela's sharp words and then retook his composure and allowed for Calyn to finish here statement. "I did think of that Thela, but it is not me who makes the decisions in the hunters and I was only asking so that I may know what we are to do." Kiros said in return to the outriders statement. "If it would please Brindle and Calyn I will voulenteer to accompany Calyn when she is strong enough to leave the dens." He said aiming the words at Brindle and Calyn but said it as if he were speaking to the whole council.
