Emily Kane-Living Doll

Emily was not sure how to ask KEndal's first question so just listened to Kendal go on about The Muse. She was reall starting to like it here. Everyone seemed to fit in one way or another. She knew it was liek that at the circus as well. WEll, kinda. All the 'freaks' belong and the normal people do not. Thats how it is for most circus. Her circus was just an act, maybe more a true circus than most. They put on a huge act to fool millions of people and take all the souls they could. This whole time EMily was watching Kendal, wondering what next. What was she going to do next? Were they just going to talk more? Conversation was definately not Emily's thing. She coudl listen, and listen very well she does. Though, when asked to contribute to the conversation, there wasn't much she could or would say. When Electra came back up in the conversation, EMily scanned the room for her lost friend. "If only I could find her," She comented.

"Oooh..." She murmurs, interest now having completely wiped away the pout from earlier. She would enjoy being useful. She stares at his hands, and gasps in delight as the warmth spreads throughout her fingers, and the soft light beings to glow from inside the cave. She looks down at it with a grin, staring into the pastel light and watching it's beauty.
She looks up to him and nods ever so slightly, "It would be fun!."

((I should yesh, it looks awesome. ^...^
I read it before, but I checked just in case, and Lo-and-behold! It has changed! Veeerrrry interesting...^...^))

WILHELM

"Indeed it will be, little one." I tell her with a smile. Crouching down by her side, I motion to the glowing orb that she is now holding in her hands. "Do you remember how I told you that fairies are everywhere, but people do not realize it is a fairy so they can not see them? They are hiding right in plain sight and yet, no one knows it." My other hand emerges from my cloak, the emerald and honey colored orbs twisting round and round in my palm. "What if I were to tell you that our little light fairy is hiding in one of these three orbs? How do you think we could figure out which one she is in?"

The Reverend Maynard
"Now, you just happen to be in luck, my dear and wonderfully good gentleman. For you see, I have the know of this establishment, and I happen to be a wonderful aquaintence of just the person you need to speak to about this matter. Now, this can be a rough place for a new initiate such as yourself, so I'll hear no nonsense about inquiring with someone else, you just come along with me, and we'll get you settled right where you need to be..."

Nathan frowned slightly, ever so confused about this mans rudeness, and sudden change of tone. He looked to him puzzlingly for a moment, trying to discern something from his eyes, his expression, anything. This man could be trying to lure him away to something sinister, but surely someone who attached themselves to this establishment could not be dangerous. He supposed nothing dangerous could happen, and nodded slowly. "I suppose, sir, that I could not refuse such an offer." He bowed slightly to the bouncer and made as if to follow wheresoever the man decided to take him.

[ - Kendal - ]

"Well, I'll tell you what," Kendal replies, popping her last shot into her mouth with a slight shudder. "You go find your girlfriend and we'll meet back up here. I've got to go check on someone, via a friend's request." Giving you a smile, she gets up from her stool and fruffs out her skirts. "Maybe I'll bring him over here so you can meet him too." She gives you a parting wink and strolls off.

Following the bar counter, she spots where Jack and Urban are chatting a short distance away. It looks like Jack might just be leaving. Purrfect, she thinks to herself with a grin. Weaving through the crowd, she sneaks up behind Jack and tickles his sides, hoping to get a squeak out of him.

She looks into his eyes with her own deep brown orbs, and then back to the warmth in her palm, the sparkling light reflecting gently. She smiled at the chance to see another fairy, "I...don't know..." She paused, looking puzzled. "Wouldn't she want out of such a small place..?" She looks down into the orb and then moves her head closer as if to examine it.

cybernetic illuminator

Electra’s eyes open wider like a deer in headlights as she traces each detail of the Muse. She looked around, her computer mind triggering an emotion. She had come to know this feeling as wonder. But it swirled and mixed with excitement. Looking around, Electra becomes mesmerized by the machine spilling out the performance. She willingly takes a step onto the dance floor, watching the people around her twirl, twist, and move. Deciding to try it, Electra analyses the pattern of music, letting her body react on its own to the music. She enjoyed this feeling. The music was loud, but her mechanical ears could not be damaged by the level of volume as normal human ears could have. She writhes to the music for just a bit longer, before she feels something that she needs to take care of. Thirst. Just like humans, it is what she needs to survive, along with food. This is her energy source, much like gasoline. She slowly stops her movements, then strides through the maze of twisting bodies.

Finally, Electra made her way to the bar. She walked in, taking a seat next to a girl who looked strangely familiar… “Emily,” she recalls aloud, looking at the doll before her, slightly shocked. She then nods to the other female at the bar in greeting. Her cybernetic brain was working furiously. She had never been in such a place, one where she needed so much knowledge, information…concentration. Her fingers reach up and brush a lock of blonde hair from her eyes.

Emily nodded a goodbye to Kendal and was suprised that within the few minutes she had been gone, Electra had appeared. She turns to her friend and smiles, the alcohol still holding its effect. "Hey Electra I was just talking about you," She had known Electra for the many years she had been in the Circus. And understood that Electra didn't really hold friendships. More of just accaintences. "Isn't this place amazing?" She asks, scanning her surroundings once again.

Leila Bellport
----------------The doctor is in

Taking the cold hard cash, $320 to be exact, Leila counted carefully just to be sure. Happy to have received the correct amount, she smiled at her newly-stitched patient.

“You’ll wanna gently rub some of that,” she nodded at the brown bottle in his hand, “on the cut so that it doesn’t get infected. Come back in three of four weeks and I’ll remove them, okay?” The patient quickly agreed. That was an easy way for Leila to make money on stitches; anyone who came to her in the first place wasn’t going to appear at a different doctor to have mysterious stitches removed, lest suspicion arose, so Leila could charge a separate fee just to have the stitches removed.

Satisfied, Leila hid her new money in her stash: a hidden safe in the wall. Sure that she had cleaned up after the stitching, Leila changed out of her “work” clothes and into a comfortable black knee-length skirt and a dressy light blue top. The clothes were newly purchased with money from casting a dislocated and fractured shoulder belonging to a CEO who seemed to enjoy midnight brawls.

After stepping into a pair of generic black 2-inch heels, Leila locked her house and drove her way over to the Muse. She hoped she could in; she’d heard one had to be the right person at the right time. Knowing full well that her services rendered something in exchange, Leila parked and stood in line. After all, fair was fair.

"I suppose, sir, that I could not refuse such an offer."

Magnificent, my dear, good gentleman. If you'd be so kind as to follow me, I'll take you exactly where you need to be," our dear Reverend said with a jovial clap on the shoulder. Pivot of the feet, smart tap of the umbrella tip on the ground, and off towards the dance-floor we went, taking a sudden veer to the right, and up the stairs. Nevermind the lingering eye on the dance-floor below, and a certain appreciation hidden behind good ol' wire-rimmed glasses.

Now, to the target destination of our journey. The Reverend had heard the request for his presence; indeed, one could say it was the only reason he'd bothered to show up tonight. Nevermind the potential amusement unfolding. But the destination. Striding steps without a backward glance made their way to one of the goddess-couches near the stage, and the pale-skinned goddess in her crisp business suit entombed within. Definitely no fit of that suit on him, she was far too thin. But to courtesy. The good Reverend offered a crisp bow to the lady, sweeping off his grand hat and all, despite the faint glare of light from the scraped-smooth surface of his head.

"My dear lady, Miz Francesca, I managed to find for you a real screaming bender downstairs, whilst making such good time to attend to your request for me. This fine gent," he stated, a leather-clad hand motioning to the "photographer", has come asking at your establishment about various photography rights and such. Now, I know your policy, dear Lady, but do be gentle. It looks to be his first time here, and perhaps we can't hold illiteracy to be his fault, now can we?

{ - The Muse - }

Surprisingly, the doctor finds that the line goes relatively quickly. It seems that the bouncers are mostly screening the crowd for restricted items, contraband, weapons, and other undesirables. She notices that obvious drunks and junkies are turned away, inspite of the fact that some sinister and unsavory-looking characters still manage to make it through. When you step up to the front of the line, the bouncers only give you a brief glance before allowing you admitance.

'The Muse' is roaring tonight. The music is pulsing, the lights dim. Laser lights weave and cross between and above dancers moving in time on the floor, intoxicated with the beat. On raised platforms around the edge of the center floor, lithe gothic go-go girls slither and writhe to the sound, their reflections mimicing their movements against the mirrored walls surrounding them.

Between the bar and the dance floor, a large commanding staircase winds its way to the second floor. Back near the bar counter, where it is a bit quieter to allow for conversation, cute and dangerous looking waitresses in short skirts glide about the tables. Every walk of life the night has to offer can be spotted here. The partons vary so dramatically that hedonism might just be the only thing they have in common.

"Fairies are very fond of hiding. They can be very small. Small enough to fall asleep on a flower petal or fit through a keyhole." I tell the young one, watching her peer deeper into the orb. "But fairies are a lot like cats. They like shiny, pretty things. If we could find something to lure her out with, we would discover which orb she was hiding in. She might even show herself to us."

User ImageChahna nodded to Thorne’s request and was about to shift the soft robe that wrapped around her when a sharp pain pierced through her head. White flecks of light obscured her vision as she wobbled for a bit, ultimately steadying herself by gripping the arm of her chair. The other massaged her forehead which still felt as if fireworks were crackling inside. However that wasn’t her only symptom. Upon opening her eyes again in response to the alarming warmth of her skin, she was surprised to see that her skin was luminesing uncontrollable in a chaotic display of red hue. “Oh dear…” Chanhna gave a hefty sigh. “I think I worked myself into a tizzy of some sort,” she managed to say with a weak smile to Thorne. “I hope you don’t mind if I go lay down… I feel that I will end up looking like a ripe tomato if this continues.”

Nathan paused, looking puzzled, even though he was trying to hide it so. Perhaps he had missed something, as he was now just realizing. He 'came to' and bowed deeply, noting how the man had offered his best etiquette to the situation. He remained silent, still puzzled, and rather busy studying this lovely creature. Extraordinary he thought, but even he knew better than to say it out loud, or offer a hint of it on his face.

"uhm..." She looked extremely puzzled for a moment, for she was trying to find something that was shiny. She looked around, rather frustrated to note that everything around them was coated in a rather melancholy and completely non-shiny layer of dust and/or grime. She whined quietly, trying to find something without moving from her spot or jostling the orb.
