 The dysadin stepped through and looked at the portal to Pandora for a moment, before placing her palm on the DNA device and stepping through the portal.
A week later, she returned, and it didn't take her long to head for the main level.

A sunburned Tenshi came through the portal from Pandora, and immediately made his way to the main level.

This, is the Gate room. A device that creates portals to the far reaches of the universe, allowing you to traverse that space in just a moments time.

The werewolf visibly stepped back as it sprung to life, with a look of a deer caught in the headlights as she jumped.

This machine, as you are now seeing, creates a stabilized wormhole within local space that can be controlled through a complex network of machinery within this room.

Each destination has a duplicate ring, and a small receiver device. A code can be punched in through the receiver, then operating the system from this side.
On the other side of that portal, right now, is the Desert world of Terra. Shall we go?

It's just like stepping through a doorway. You might feel really cold for just a split second when you step out from the other side, but it is but a minuscule effect of having yourself sent over hundreds of thousands of lightyears in a moment in a molecular state.
