After wiping off the failed color Akiko moved the cloth out of the way once again and examined the rest of her depleting options. “Okay out of these three.” She told herself after grabbing the rest of the last three in the color range she was going for, all three of the colors were lighter then the one she just ruled out. The determined girl brought the colors close to her face as if she were examining every particle piece by piece; in the end she went with the lightest of the three colors, unknowingly following Tenko’s advice. Akiko was so involved in what she was doing she missed the bubbly teacher’s advice and question.
The patient Akiko repeated the process of taking the sponge and gently dabbing the light color on a small portion of her hand. Sadly it was still too light, too light for even Tenko’s helpful advice. “I’ll try the middle one next time.” She mumbled in a soft voice be for taking the more then familiar cloth and wiping off the spot.

"Please, just don't do it again," Tenko said, giving Orika a sweet smile as she finished tending to Tanu. The nurse felt like she had nothing more to do while over by Orika and Tanu, so she moved over to where Akiko and Naoki were still sitting. "Still haven't found the right color?" Tenko asked the girl with a little pout on her face, feeling bad that she hadn't caught up yet. "Let me check the bag," Tenko said, walking over to the case to see if there were anymore colors available. In luck, Tenko found another case of creams. "Here, try some of these," the woman said, handing them to Akiko.
[+3 to Akiko's next roll.]
"Lovely!" Kumiko said happily as she pulled Hanabira's glasses off for the girl, eager to see what Serena could do.

"Oh, um..thank you, sensei." Serena was surprised at how much Kumiko wanted to see her apply eyeshadow. After lightly brushing her finger across the color she wanted, she look at Hanabira's eyes. "I guess I'll start with you right eye first, ok?" She moved her finger around in different ways, not sure of the best way to get the eyeshadow on there. The color was on her right finger, and she was applying it to to, from her point of view, Hanabira's left eye. Eventually she was able to twist her arm around to lightly brush the top of her partner's eyelids and move in an outer direction. "Hm, I think I know how to apply it better now, but this time, I did it too lightly, I guess.." When she took her finger away, the color couldn't be seen. It seemed like she would have to rub her finger in a little more brown eyeshadow for it to show up.

Serena made sure that this time, there was a little more color on her fingers before applying again. Just like last time, she slowly began striking her fingers across Hanabira's eyelids, hoping to get a little more color out than before. "Ah, now I can see the base color a little bit better. Now I can try the other eye." She brushed her hand across Hanabira's right eye one more time and then began working on the left eye, first brushing her finger against the eyeshadow, then brushing it onto her partner's eyelids and around the sides a little. "There! I think the base is pretty much done! Now for the other layers."

Serena rubbed more eyeshadow onto her fingers and began thinking about how to go about applying the next layers. When her idea was set up, she began working on Hanabira's eyes. "Layer..by..Layer" She was saying to herself as she put the second layer on, a little bit further out. It would take a little bit of time for her to eventually get to the darkest color at the end, but she slowly worked her way to it, trying not to mess up. It seemed like she was working a little slow though..well, maybe first tries were always like that, especially when working with a partner.

Tanu was skeptical, unwillingly and found Orika utterly distrustful as she tried to pretty up a speech of how they should work together. How could someone that had been insulting her and insulting her words and ability turn around and say they should work together. The Kun Kumo girl didn't like it one bit... Tanu thought that if she helped out Orika first and did a good job, that the girl would turn around and do a horrible task on her. Then again the girls performance in school would be marked down and it would be a semi-vicotry for Tanu. Then again, Tanu could do a terrible job on Orika, get graded down and just leave the class again. Then there was the risk of being expelled like that loser Kazuma. Putting her elbows on her desk, she glared at Orika, the farm girl. 'Two-faced sleeze,' is immediately what came to mind when Tanu looked directly into the reddish-brown eyes. "Fine," Tanu said finally, closing her eyes and leaning back in her chair as she titled her nose up just a bit with a snobbish attitude. "I'm doing yours first though. And you can bet if you mess up mine even a little bit, I'll show you that I have skills to back my words," the girl shot it at her as a reference to what Orika had said earlier. Tanu was one to break out into fights, but it was never for no reason...

Resisting the urges of being a prankster, Tanu sat straight in her chair and turned her body towards Orika. Kumiko had said to use colors that would accent the eyes. Tanu still didn't really know what that meant. This farm girl's eyes were just plain... The reddish brown really didn't make her stand out at all. It was just a dull red in Tanu's eyes. Nothing could compare to the beauty of a Kun Kumo's iris. Her vibrant red constrasting against the gree and bringing out just a little ring of orange was something that could grab someone's attention. "Your face is boring," Tanu mumbled as she opened the case to the powders to look at what colors she had to work with. It was strange to see Tanu actually participating in an exercise and not being loud and insulting about it. However, she was working with Orika and the effects of being slightly intimidated by her were still running through her mind. She knew this farm girl wouldn't have anything on her! But her words were pretty sharp and the tone she backed them with had a chill to it. Looking at the colors, Tanu grew a bit nervous. What if she picked the wrong one right off the bat? Would Orika notice and try to correct her? That would be the worst possible situation. Looking up from the assortment of powders, Tanu looked around to the others and for Tenko... The Kun Kumo didn't like Kumiko very much, but Tenko seemed like a nice woman that would give advice more than insult her. Tanu just wish she automatically knew everything about this stupid exercise!

It wasn't only because Tenko was nice or just because Kumiko was a cruel wench, but there was something about Tenko that reminded Tanu of someone else. The only person in the village that had aided her in her studies until today was the person she was thinking of. It was Shin. He would probably know more about this than Tanu would! He seemed like the type of boy that would play with powders and creams with his mother instead of chopping wood with his father. Tanu's mind began to wander and think about what the boys were doing. Perhaps they were doing just that, chopping wood. The Kun Kumo would imagine that Shin's delicate girly hands would get blistered only after a few swings. She couldn't imagine what Yume would do if forced towards such task. He'd probably try to look attractive while holding an axe... Tanu had heard that he had moved away with the Hyuuga family back to the mainland. He didn't even say good bye to her after almost kissing her! At that thought, Tanu's face got a little red. It wasn't a red from an embarassing thought or lovely blushing, but it was a red from steaming anger. Maybe her brother and Kei had been right about the Hyuuga. Yume probably was a playboy in the works. Well, he would have fun in the mainland then and Tanu wouldn't have to worry about him anymore.

Yume had been attracted to her without make up! Why did she have to do this now? She was pretty enough! Just as the girl was about to throw the small case of powders on the desk and storm out, she remembered the insults that Bakemono and Farm Girl had veered towards her. Her hand steadied and grasped onto the powders she held in her hand. Heaving a sigh and calming down for once, Tanu bit her tongue. It took courage to do something and to try something new, but the hardest thing for Tanu to ever do was ask for help from a superior. It wasn't hard to order kids her age around to help her with things, like she had done with Shin. It was almost pride damaging to ask for help since she couldn't figure it out on her own. "Tenko-sensei," Tanu blurted out as if she was gasping for air. "Can you explain this to me again?" the girl asked, not directly looking into the woman's eyes or even in her general direction. If Tanu's voice weren't so clear and audible, you wouldn't have guessed who she was speaking to!

As Akiko moved the color stained cloth to the side she grabbed for the sponge and swiftly brushed it along the last shade, the middle one. “Now what am I going to do.” The girl mumbled, disappointment apparent in her voice, as she looked at the out come of the small smear of color on her hand. “Still haven’t found the right color?” The voiced was able to capture the attention of Akiko this time; the said girl looked up at the pouting teacher and gave a silent nod before she walked away to her search. In the women’s absence the Ibazi grabbed the cloth to do away with the failed color. “Here, try some of these.” The girl looked up to the familiar voice only to be handed hope and she removed the cloth from her hands. “Thank you sensei.” Akiko spoke feeling revived and relieved that she didn’t have to start mixing just yet.

"Ok..now a little bit left" As Serena worked her way out, the colors began to show up very clearly. It was a light coffee brown, and somehow made its way to darker browns around the edges of the eyes. She was almost done with the eyeshadow. The Raiken pulled herself back a little bit and took a look at what she was doing. So far so good..it was working out like she wanted to. She rubbedthe eyeshadow plate again and worked her way around the edges, darkening it up to the brown she was looking for and then smiled. "I think that's it! Now the the gold-ish color to be added in.." She took a towel and wiped her finger off and then picked up the sparkley gold color to examine it.

The Ibazi girl sorted though the colors that were just given to her, she separated the ones that were within the skin range she was going for from the ones that she wasn't. Some of the creams looked very similar to some of the ones she already tried, and some were exactly like the ones she already tried. Once Akiko finished her sorting she looked at the last color she tried to compare to the one she was using next, the colors were close but the one that the eleven year old was about to try on was a shade darker, but only slightly. Grabbing for the sponge Akiko glided the soft tool along the color and across the test spot of her hand. As a reflex she reached for the damp cloth but stopped when she realized she actually had the right color. Akiko gave a sigh of relief as she moved all of the other cases to the far corner of her desk; she even allowed a small triumphant smirk cross her lips. “Now for the next step.” She spoke softly to herself as she wiped away the spot on her small hands.

{They're olive. I can't believe I forgot to put that in there! My mistake!!}
'Serena-chan is so smart,' Hanabira thought to herself as she listened to her friend go into such detail about the eye make up she was about to apply. As Kumiko pulled her glasses off, the room became a bit blury and Hanabira could barely see the walls from a distance. Hanabira could only see things close up when her glasses were removed. "Mm," Hanabira said with a nod as Serena explained that she would start with thel ighter color first. Hanabira had to admit that she was a little nervous getting make up put on her, but she was very relaxed knowing that it was Serena who was applying it. Serena seemed to be applying little by little which was taking a long time, but better to be slow and careful than rushed and sloppy. With each time that Serena touched her eyes, Hanabira's eyelids twitched. She wasn't used to this, but she was sure her twitching wasn't helping Serena at all. When the Raiken announced that there was only a little bite left, Hanabira tried her hardest to keep her eyes closed and steady so that she could apply the last color evenly and precisely.

Akiko, happy that she could move on to the next step, stared at the cream for a few seconds before putting more on the sponge. The white haired girl new this would probably feel weird, and not only that but she wasn’t sure if she would be able to do this correctly. “You never know until you try…” She breathed out as she applied a generous amount of cream onto the sponge then stared at it a second more. The hesitant girl slowly brought the sponge to the side of her smooth cheek and then cringed at the touch of the cold thick cream. This stuff felt weird and the way it rested on the poor girls face made Akiko doubt if she did it right, it couldn’t have been. The Ibazi ran her fingers across the spot she globed the cream on and a good amount came off way too easily. Looking at the collected mess on her fingers Akiko knew she did it wrong, she would try to thin this stuff out next. Wiping her messy fingers on the cloth she was relieved she didn’t even come close to covering the cream on her entire face.

Akiko slowly started to thin out the thick spot on her face, and with each smoothing stroke the uncomfortable weird feel slowly went away. The girl was relieved that the base wouldn’t feel as gross as the thick cream taunted, and as long as it’s thin it was more then tolerable. It was still doubtful that the Ibazi would were it unless she had to, but she may were it for an occasional festival or two. “That’s one half done.” The young girl quitely mused as she finished covering the left side of her face evenly and smoothly with the cream, she made sure to get around her mouth, eyes, and around her nose. “What are we doing after this?” Akiko mumbled looking around at the other girls for answers. She noticed they were putting color on their eyelids as she noticed that she also saw the girls were working in partners. As she add more cream to her sponge and began smoothing it on to the other half of her bare face she noticed the girl that attempted to help her before. “Are you my partner?” Akiko asked casually addressing Naoki “Sorry, I didn’t mean to keep you waiting…I was having some trouble.” The Ibazi felt bad that she held someone up, she hadn’t really noticed her quite partner beside her, and if she knew she had a partner she would have tried to find her color faster. “Well I’m done now.” The young girl absently stated still talking to Naoki “By the way, I’m Akiko,” The girl said calmly as she gently put down the soft tool and turned her attention to the girl beside her. “Would you like to start?”
