Honoo no Renkinjutsushi He looked to Riza quickly and then looked back to Adine. He held his hand out to take the papers from the young lady as she reached his desk. He picked up a pen and began to read through the papers.
Adine chuckled to herself. Well...that had been fast. She had heard tell of Mustang's wandering eyes and miniskirt fetish...but she surely hadn't expected his voyeur tendencies to be so pronounced. She had been in the office for but thirty seconds and had already been given the elevator eyes twice.
She cast her green eyes toward the two liuetenants in the room and felt a cold chill race down her spine when the met the brown ones of the female.
Ah, the stalwart Lieutenant Hawkeye... she mused. She quickly redirected her gaze, fearing maintained eye contact with Riza would turn her to stone. There was a look in the blonde woman's chestnut eyes that could have melted steel. They were right when they said she was protective of the junshou... she added for good measure, that cold feeling settling in the pit of her stomach.
A wickedly cruel and inappropriate thought poked at the back of her mind, but she stilled it for fear of Hawkeye's fabled sharpshooting skills, and cast her eyes instead to Havoc in the corner. She nearly burst out laughing at his expression. In the low light of the candles, it was difficult to tell, but she was certain his eyes had been lingering on the all-too-short hem of her skirt, and his cheeks were now turning beet red that she had noticed his gaze.
Her green eyes lingered on his blue ones a moment, and she gave him a serrupticious wink. Then, without waiting for a reaction, she turned her attention back to the brigadier general.Honoo no Renkinjutsushi "Might I ask what is so important it could not wait until the power came back on?" She dithered a moment on her words, then leaned over a bit more and pointed.
"These here are just some release forms he sent along with the important stuff," she explained, her face dangerously close to his. She drew a short breath and could smell the mintiness of his cologne. She leaned a bit closer and removed a few of the papers. "These here," she drawled on, "are the crucial ones. Your signature is needed on these three reports here, as the highest officer in this wing, before the new customs protocols can be set in place... And these..."--she pulled out a few more papers--"are for the new Homeland Security Act that is to be implemented by the Parliament. It's not much different than the current one...just a few slight changes to the border controls." She leaned back and cocked her hip, rubbing her chin with one hand. "You know how overzealous the brass can get with paperwork..." She shook her head. "The problem was, the Ministry is on a deadline, and can't afford to wait until the power company decides to get their act in gear to fix things."
She waited for him to sign the rest of the forms, and when he handed them back to her, she made an added point to brush the back of his hand with her long, manicured fingernails.
She bowed neatly and then saluted.
"Thank you, Sir," she said. "Minister Filch will be most pleased with the efficiency of your quadrant."
And she headed for the door. On her way, she paused a moment as she walked past Edward, still draped in Hawkeye's jacket and shivering a bit in the cold air of the still, dark building. Her eyes lit up.
"Well, bless my soul!" she cooed, and nearly dropped her paperwork. "Doth my Irish eyes deceive me?" She ignored the look of hah?? Edward gave her in reply, and reached up with her free hand to salute him crisply. "Major Edward Elric, if I am not mistaken?" she supposed aloud, a huge smile on her face. "Sir, may I say, this is an honor to be in your presence. To stand before the Fullmetal Alchemist..."--she shook her head, lowering the salute--"I am speechless." She extended her hand and shook his neatly, her fingers hanging on his hand apparently a trifle too long for Riza's liking, because the liuetenant cleared her throat loudly from where she stood by Mustang's desk.
Adine released Edward's grip quickly and bowed her head.
"I...hope to have the chance to work with you someday, Fullmetal One," she purred, and with a click of her heels and a swirl of her strawberry hair, she had sashayed back to the door and was gone, as quickly and crisply as she had arrived, leaving the office behind her behind a wall of akward silence.

Adine McLearynn "Well, bless my soul!" she cooed, and nearly dropped her paperwork. "Doth my Irish eyes deceive me?" His golden eyes widened as he was approached by this beautiful, but a tad strange woman. All he could manage to get out was "H..hah?" He was stammering over the weirdness of it all. He wasn't quite sure why she viewed him as so important... it was quite awkward. Looking at her he felt a tinge of blush across his cheeks. A beautiful lady... excited to meet me? This is just so... odd...and...wrongAdine McLearynn he extended her hand and shook his neatly, her fingers hanging on his hand apparently a trifle too long for Riza's liking, because the liuetenant cleared her throat loudly from where she stood by Mustang's desk.
The next moment, he realized he was in a handshake/holding hands with this woman. He raised an eyebrow as she started spouting off how happy she was to meet him and whatnot. He blinked a few times to make sure he wasn't asleep. He was quite confused by this. He had never met this lady, yet she knew him, apparently. Or at least what he had done in the past.
He met her green eyes for the first time and felt like he was losing himself in the deep green pools. As he heard Hawkeye clear her throat, he snapped back to reality and looked to Hawkeye as Adine pulled her hand away from him. He sighed a sigh of relief as she left the room. He hated feeling awkward, and Adine had definately made him feel that.

Honoo no Renkinjutsushi Looking away from Ed and Riza a moment, his deep gray eyes fell on the newcomer. He raised an eyebrow as his eyes travelled down her slender form and stopped at the... what was that... was it a MINISKIRT?! Riza stiffened as soon as Adine entered the office.
Ugh...not her... Anyone but her...
While Riza had never had any personal run-ins with McLearynn, she had heard horrific tales from those who had. Here was a woman so efficient in her wiles, so deadly in her advances, that no man was safe.
Well, Riza had no intentions of letting her get her talons into Roy, that was for certain...Honoo no Renkinjutsushi He looked to Riza quickly and then looked back to Adine. He held his hand out to take the papers from the young lady as she reached his desk. He picked up a pen and began to read through the papers. giku
Her eyes narrowed. What the hell had that look been for??Adine McLearynn Honoo no Renkinjutsushi "Might I ask what is so important it could not wait until the power came back on?" "These here are just some release forms he sent along with the important stuff," she explained, her face dangerously close to his. She waited for him to sign the rest of the forms, and when he handed them back to her, she made an added point to brush the back of his hand with her long, manicured fingernails.
Riza felt her blood begin to boil. Just who did this brazen hussy think she was dealing with?
She fought the urge to reach for her sidearm.Adine McLearynn "Well, bless my soul!" she cooed, and nearly dropped her paperwork. To stand before the Fullmetal Alchemist..."--she shook her head, lowering the salute--"I am speechless." She extended her hand and shook his neatly... All right, enough was enough.
"Erhem!" she coughed loudly, shooting Adine a wicked glare, and the younger woman quickly disengaged from Edward's handshake. She watched the woman like a...well...like a hawk...as the redhead ducked silently out of the room and closed the door. Then she turned slowly, dangerously, to face the trio of men in her presence.
There was an almost palpable battle aura about her form.
"Junshou," she hissed, and Roy jumped, "what in the world was that all about?" She kept her voice low and even. Somehow that seemed to frighten Roy more than shouting. "You have met that woman...perhaps twice? And you fawned all over her like a fly on honey!" She forgot herself and let out a disgusted snerk sound. "Sir, I figured you had gotten over your skirt-chasing days..."
She turned to Havoc and he threw his hands up in front of his face. She just shook her head.
"And you, Havoc...haven't you learned not to trust a pretty face so blindly? Look where it got you last time!"
He looked sheepish, and she cast her piercing eyes to Edward. Edward was still looking as if he'd been hit by a train.
"And Edward-kun..." she beckoned, and he gave her a fearful look. She sighed. "Do. Not. Let. That. Woman. Touch. You." she ordered maternally. "From what I hear, she will chew you up and spit you out, and that's not something you need."
Her eyes softened a little, then turned icy again as she hurled them back toward Roy.
"But you, Sir," she began, and then grit her teeth. She sighed in frustration and then scowled at the floor. "Have you no self-restraint at all? You were practically undressing her with your eyes! You should know better... You, of all people, should know better than to take things at face value..." she scolded, and her features darkened a little. "I know it's not my place to lecture you...I have no say in your personal life..."--she lifted her eyes and gave him a venomous look--"but she doesn't deserve you, Sir, and I--"
She inhaled sharply, stopped in mid-thought, and looked at the floor again.
"I couldn't stand to see her toy with you..."

Wandering rather aimlessly around the station, Winry tightened her grip on the strap of her toolbag. She toyed with the idea of asking someone if they'd seen Al.
The rain was really starting to bother her. Had it been raining like this on the train? She couldn't remember exactly, but she hadn't thought so... so why did there seem to be this cloud of heavy downpour hovering over Central City alone? It struck her as odd.
She tightened her lightweight black jacket around her shoulders and idly wished she'd brought or worn something warmer. She'd brought a change of clothes with her... but hadn't been expecting the rain, and only had the jacket she wore for warmth. Not that the onyx fabric did much good, plastered to her skin the way it was. She continually had to adjust the drenched fabric of her skirt on her thighs as not to show anything unneccessary, and feared that perhaps her toolbag may leak, and get her wrenches and other odds and ends wet.
She gasped softly. What if they rusted?!
Struck with the horrifying thought that her precious workshop items may rust, she made her way to an overhang to shelter herself from the rain.
Standing as far to the outside of the overhang as she could without getting any more wet, she hoped that perhaps Al would pass by. -- Why he would still be in the station, she wasn't sure. But she sure as hell wasn't about to go traipsing about the city in this torrential rain! She'd have to wait for it to stop -- or at least slow before she continued her search for the younger Elric.
Sighing somewhat deflatedly, she let the toolbag strap slide off her shoulder and set it on the ground near her feet.
Keeping her eyes peeled for the boy, Winry wrapped her arms tightly around herself in an effort to keep warm.
Boy, was Al going to get an earful for this one...

Hagane no Alphonse Al moved further into the train station and waited for Ashtoreth to join him. She seem different, somehow. Like her becoming a State Alchemist has altered her, perhaps? He looked at her eyes, wondering what she had done with herself since leaving Izumi's training. Izumi-sensei mentioned that when you give up your own morals and become a "dog of the military", you lose something inside. I wonder if that's what happened, or if I am just imagining things. She has been here for a little time now, and I wonder if she knows the books I will be looking for. Of course, I can only hope she does not, for if she does then she, too, has felt the pain of creating a homunculus. Alphonse shifted slighty at that thought, a chill not borne of the damp weather running aloing his spine. He set his suitcase down and readjusted his coat again. It did not seem to fit him all that well anymore, and he would have to see about some kind of employment to buy some new gear. As he looked briefly around, there was an odd feeling of familiarity to this place. He had not been outside the train depot, to his knowledge, but he was certain that he knew where to go if he let his feet take him there. An odd sense of deja vu crept into him once more, like some ghost of the past revisiting him. As he looked around briefly, he had the uneasy feeling that he was being watched, but dismissed it as there were a few passers by that took notice of him. I hope Izumi-sensei does not find out about my being here. She had a hard enough time when word leaked back about Ashtoreth joining the State Alchemists, and it was all I could do to keep her there so I could ask about things relating to my brother's dissapearance. I never imagined all the knowledge about the gate she possessed and, even though it took a lot of careful questions, she did give me some valuable clues about how to interact with it. All I need now is a bit more information. Surely there is someone who has been across to the other side and returned to tell of it. If nothing else, I can see if there are any references to the ones that do spawn on the other side: the homunculi. It's a last resort, but if I found one of them I could ask what I need of them. As he thought about the homunculi once more, he suddenly felt so unprotected. Almost naked, like he had been stripped of his defenses. It was an odd sensation, as the sound of heavy rain fall surrounded him. He shivered once and looked for Ashtoreth. It had felt like an impossible amount of time had passed during the brief wandering of his mind. Ashtoreth looked as the man in front of her, his eyes were glazed over, as though in deep thought. She sighed and leaned back into the building, pulling her wet bangs away from her eyes, "I don't mean to interrupt your train of thought, but what do you want to talk to me about?" She blinked as Al's head snapped up, as if surprised. She laughed mentally, only a small smile showed on her face, "You know, I used to get lost in thought like that sometimes," She smile turned into a melancholy one, "You want to talk about it, it's dangerous to keep everything inside."

Where the hell am I?!?!?
Envy was starting to get annoyed with himself. This hadnt turned out as fun as he thought it would and he was getting extremely bored. There was nothing of importance here and he hadnt seen any humans that were interesting enough to entertain him. He had passed a few, but they were in too much of a hurry to notice.
Doesnt matter, those pathetic simpletons didnt have enough brain to fire a gun... let alone, want to mess with me. stare
He sighed and continued walking down the dark passageway. Envy quickened his pace and turned around a corner, running into a young woman with red hair(Adine), which wasnt exactly a normal thing for Envy... but his mind was occupied at the moment.
He was barely phased by the collision and took a step back. He glared at the redhead and was close to spitting out a sharp remark, but controlled himself.
"Mft..." was all he said as he continued slowly walking away.

((I'm finally going to start developing my character now sweatdrop ))
Kat barely heard Riku last said.
As she looked around at the sheer amount of people in the government building, Kat struggled to keep her breath slow. Kat had always thought of herself of a stong person, but since she met those on the train ride, she had found that she actually had many faults.
She couldn't read maps. Strange shape-shifters striked fear into her heart. She hated large crowds.
Worst of all, she missed someone... very deeply. Her thoughts flickered to her sketchbook, then to maps, to crowds to shape-shifters to crowds to maps to shape-shifters to crowds to her sketchbook....
As her mind whirled with the series of things that were bringing Kat down, a stiff wind blew around her - even though she was inside. The wind picked up and the back of her right hand began to burn. She looked down at her hand, where her transmutation circle was stamped into the leather of her black glove.
The wind blew harder, Kat's mind kept whirling, and the thought that everyone in the huge room was looking at her absently flickered in her head.

EDIT: ((HellDriver12, I am ignoring your post as there are too many things in it for me to deal with before you left the area.
If you are going to have a bomb explode in the train station, I need time to deal with this fact, have the local authorities respond to the attack, and detain/kill you for being the (apparent) cause of a wanton act of destruction near innocent people.
That said, please take a moment to rethinking what you just wrote and consider if a "large bomb" were to explode near you, there would likely be a huge amount of damage. This is an age of cordite and other high explosives (as there are guns which use such things seen in the series) so the entire passenger car would have been destroyed by the concussive force of that blast. It would have been turned into schrapnel that would rip through much of the train station, slaughtering masses of people.
You would be dead. (End of character, make a new one, DEAD.) Winry, who had just arrived, would likely be maimed or dead. I would be seriously injured at the very least, and at least two other characters would have been caught in the blast.
FOR GODS' SAKE THINK BEFORE YOU ACT.))Light_Ashtoreth Ashtoreth looked as the man in front of her, his eyes were glazed over, as though in deep thought. His attention once more was focused on the here and now, not a trace of something from his past, and not a possible future that has yet to be. He focused his attention on the woman before him, wondering what to say briefly. "You know, Izumi-sensei is not going to be pleased when she catches up to you. I think she may already know what you have done, despite her trying to train you to aspire to better than... this." He pointed at where the the silver chain of her State Alchemist's watch hung in the open, as though there was something vile about it, his eyes darkening a bit. The last time I can remember disobeying her wishes, the lesson was not lost on me for some time after. What happened to her that she would go against Izume-sensei in this way? "I find it hard to believe that you could choose to join such a group so easily, and I figured I would try to find out what could have possibly changed for you to do something like this. So... " As these words left his mouth, he noticed the eyes that looked back at him were not real, but instead some form of metal construct. He tried not to stare at them, but he began to fear the worst. Is this the person who I thought it was? She seemed like the old Ashtoreth, but... "... what happened?" As this thought left his mind, an odd sensation came over him. This situation seemed almost familiar, but somehow not. How odd. I have not been this unfocused for some time now.He waited for Ashtoreth's reaction before he continued. He did not want to rush what he had to say too quickly, and he knew that it was better this was done where no one would really notice them. The rainy day and that the train station seemed to be pretty well closed down would give them some privacy. After all, who could possibly recognize him here, like this?

I was in a family of alchemists... but my family wanted to be one of the best, what better way than a successful human transmutation... I wasn't all that old at the time, my parents were taught me alchemy, but the 'project' took up all their time, so Izumi-sensei was nice enough to let me train under her." Ashtoreth sighed, "My family called me in to be the witness of their 'great feat.' Then there was the... accident, the transmutation went completely wrong, they were beginning to get dragged into the gate. I ran to go help, and got pulled in. Lost my eyes in the process. Alphonse looked at her with a kind of odd fascination. Could she have missed his whole point? It was not the eyes that were what bothered him, but the coldness that seemed surround her. Maybe it was just the weather, but there was still a bit of a chill when the words "human transmutation" were used. Then an idea came to him, his earlier train of thought brushed aside by his desire.
His voice a whisper, he leaned close to Ashtoreth and spoke: "So you... you have seen the gate. I was told of the gate, and what happened with my brother four years ago, but no one knows much about it."
Oh god, I hope she knows. If she does, then my question about getting someone back through the gate might be able to be answered. If only I could get him back, it would make things right again...

Envy-san He sighed and continued walking down the dark passageway.
Adine let out a squeaking sound when she suddenly recognized the figure in the darkness. She would have recognized that flash of purple night-shine anywhere.
Her long fingers snapped out and grabbed a fistful of Envy's long green hair, yanking sharply. The homunculus let out a squawk and glared daggers at her as her green eyes glinted wickedly in the dimly lit hallway.
"What in the name of St. Patrick do you think you're doing, Lad?" she hissed. "Do yeh want to get caught? Why the hell aren't yeh in your disguise??"
Her thick accent became ever more apparent in her anger, and she gave his hair another tug for good measure before releasing it. She pointed one red fingernail at his nose and growled low in the back of her throat like a dog prepared to bite his jugular. She took a deep breath to calm herself, and swallowed the vile curse that had formed on her lips.
"Now you listen, you palm-fronded freak of nature," she snarled, "I'm putting my job and our doorway at stake here even letting you into the damn building, so if you can't follow my instructions, I'll have to do this alone." Her emerald eyes narrowed dangerously. "Don't think I'm afraid of you, either, you little changeling. You have nothing on me, so you'd better get in line or you'll be out on your bony a** and resorting to impersonating the soldiers again."
She leaned back, folded her arms, and scowled at him.
"If you mess this up for me, I'll make sure your head rolls off it's axis so fast you won't have time to think before you're dead. Again... I'll kill you as many times as it takes, Envy..."
And with that, she had shoved past him and started heading down the hallway. She paused about halfway down the corridor and stared back at him, glowering at her from the darkness.
"Are you coming??" she demanded, and saw him roll his purple eyes.
Good lord she hated his attitude. If it weren't for the powers he could wield so nicely to her advantage, she would have rethought the entire alliance between them. But now was not time for petty bickering among comrades. She waited until he had caught up with her, then placed a slender hand on his chiseled shoulders.
"Here, take this, and go back to Filch's office," she told him, handing him one of the forms Mustang had signed. "It's a release form that should allow you...er...me...to gain access to one of the rooms on the second basement level. I said it was to find some of the older paperwork for the customs and immigration policies, but if you look in the row of files against the farthest wall, there is a drawer that doesn't fit right. Pull it out and look behind it. You'll find some information on the Kenja no Ishi hidden behind the blank wall beyond the drawer."
She pressed his fingers closed around the paper.
"And Envy, for the love of Pete, will you please be a little patient?" she implored. "I can't be in two places at once, so wait until I leave for the day before making any appearances as me, you got it?"
She gave him a pointed look, then sashayed down the hall and past Filch's office, nodding toward it forcefully, before ducking into the bathroom to wait for Envy to play his part...

Adine McLearynn A wickedly cruel and inappropriate thought poked at the back of her mind, but she stilled it for fear of Hawkeye's fabled sharpshooting skills, and cast her eyes instead to Havoc in the corner. She nearly burst out laughing at his expression. In the low light of the candles, it was difficult to tell, but she was certain his eyes had been lingering on the all-too-short hem of her skirt, and his cheeks were now turning beet red that she had noticed his gaze. Oh, crap! She saw me! Havoc thought frantically, turning his eyes away quickly. Ohhh, jeez...why did he always have to get caught??
He hesitantly cast his eyes back to the exotic stranger and blinked. He could feel the heat radiating off his face as he met her eyes sheepishly.Adine McLearynn Her green eyes lingered on his blue ones a moment, and she gave him a serrupticious wink. Then, without waiting for a reaction, she turned her attention back to the brigadier general. Erk!
Havoc felt his stomach cinch up as if he'd been punched. Had she just winked at him?? eek Oh, gods... It was all he could do to keep from leaping at her (despite the senior officers in the room), falling at her perfect feet, and begging for her number...
But... No! He would not make common knowledge of how desperate he was...Adine McLearynn She waited for him to sign the rest of the forms, and when he handed them back to her, she made an added point to brush the back of his hand with her long, manicured fingernails. Mustang, you lucky b*****d!!!Adine McLearynn "I...hope to have the chance to work with you someday, Fullmetal One," she purred, and with a click of her heels and a swirl of her strawberry hair, she had sashayed back to the door and was gone, as quickly and crisply as she had arrived, leaving the office behind her behind a wall of akward silence. Havoc hesitated, then darted over to Edward's side and grabbed the boy's wrist.
"She touched you!" he crowed, his lower lip quivering. "U...Urayamashii~~~!!"Riza Hawkeye Chuui All right, enough was enough.
Havoc made a mental note to never piss off Hawkeye...Riza Hawkeye Chuui She turned to Havoc and he threw his hands up in front of his face. She just shook her head.
"And you, Havoc...haven't you learned not to trust a pretty face so blindly? Look where it got you last time!"
He looked sheepish... "Da...Datte, saa~!" he protested lamely. "I was...and she was... But I--!" He flapped his arms hopelessly at his sides, and muttered a half-hearted, "Yes Ma'am," though he wasn't quite certain what he was aquiescing to.
Dammit...yes...yes, he knew where his flimsy romantic emotions had gotten him last time... Into the hospital with no feeling below his hips. Last time he had fallen for a pretty face, he had fallen for a Homunculus. His beloved Solaris had actually been the creature Lust...and it seemed that the affections between them had been purely one-sided... This was made ever-more apparent by her...parting gift. A gift Havoc had feared he would never recover from.
He would have liked to think he had learned well from the experience...but then, old habits die hard. Oh, woe was Havoc...who was he to say no to the seductive winking of a pretty lady in a short skirt...?Riza Hawkeye Chuui "I couldn't stand to see her toy with you..." Silence fell over the room for a moment, and Havoc felt a squirming sensation in his gut. Somehow, to hear a woman's voice crack the way Hawkeye's just had always got him.
Hawkeye was head over heels for Mustang, anyone on the junshou's senior staff could have told you that. They were nuts about eachother, but they seemed in contant denial of it. Sometimes he wondered if Roy had any idea just how lucky he was to have a woman like Riza at his side...?
