As the shot tore through the body of the man with the machine gun the rest of the bounty hunters returned only a cursory bout of fire. They were now down by enough manpower and sufficiently frightened by the tactics of the Crimson Wolves that they retreated back out of the bar, keeping a heavy stream of suppression fire trained on the pool table to prevent retaliatory fire. Once they were clear of the door, though, the moved down the street a bit and rounded a corner quickly preparing their counter attack.

Once the shooting went silent Valco hurled himself around the side of the table, rolling into a low crouch with his pistol ready as he anticipated some kind of counter fire. There was nothing, though. Well, nothing aside from the carnage that had become the bar. Gunsmoke hung so heavily in the air that he could barely see, but the freshly opened "window" that James had created was letting in a cross breeze that was rapidly clearing out the haze. Chipped tile and splintered wood covered the floor along with a few hundred shell casings from the weapons that the bounty hunters had been firing. "Damn," he muttered, picking up his (thankfully) unharmed rifle and slinging it over his shoulder. "Alright guys, damage control on everybody."

-=Logan and Koraj=-
"We're both alive over here, boss," Logan groaned, stepping back through the doorway. Koraj followed closely behind him, holding his arm where a bullet had punched through his bicep. Logan was generally unscathed, although he was visibly shaken and his hands were covered in blood from the work he had done to dig the bullet out of his friend and bandage the wound.

-=Valco=-
"Alright, guys. Glad to hear that you're both still alive. I thought for a minute that you got mowed down in the sneak attack. Guess you two being gay together finally pulled out in your benefit." He laughed, feeling a bit relieved that everyone was, indeed, alive and well. He laughed again, louder this time to show how truly lightened he was. "Next time we drink on the Gestalt."
PostPosted: Tue Apr 29, 2008 5:45 pm

James nodded and tried to think about what he could do with only his knife at the current moment, but thankfully he didn't have to do anything because they bounty hunters retreated. Then once he heard Logan he looved over the table half expecting to see one of them looking like swiss cheese, but when neither of them did he heard Valco's comment about drinking and said something as fast as he could, "Yesh, Stalts good, barz not so goodz but gotz more kindsa drinkz." Then he walked, or more accurately stood up and took about two stepps before he tripped over a stray chair or table leg, which he didn't bother to look at or even notice, and landed right next to the body of the bounty hunter that was mostly gone and picked up the pistol that luckly hor him didn't get destroyed in the blast and held it up so that everyone else could see it, "I'ma using dis tilz we gets back to da Stalts, ma lazor waz too strong for my gunz."

CD turned one of the bodies over with the toe of her boot, giving a snort of disgust. She shook her head and went to have a look at Koraj, muttering under her breath. "C'mere an' lemme have a look at your arm. We don't need you bleeding all the way back to the Gestalt." She was already rooting through her bag, looking for a roll of bandages and a gauze pad, two of the things she always kept on her. CD shook her head again and wrapped Koraj up, giving him a faint smile before looking at Logan. "Nothing to rough okay boys? We want this to heal up, got'cha?"

-=Logan and Koraj=-
Koraj flinched as CD started to bandage his arm, but he didn't move back at all. Years of taking the kinds of beatings that he was used to left him well accustomed to pain of all sorts. "Thanks, CD," came his mumbled appreciation. Logan, on the other hand, was slightly less appreciative of her jokes. "You guys can joke about it all you like, we aren't gay. Honestly, where do you people even come up with something like that?"

This time she gave the two of them a real smile. "It's most likely some stupid thing to show affection for each other without actually saying that we get worried." CD clapped him on the shoulder, gently. "I put up with all the sexist jokes because I know that it's meant in fun, and because you guys wouldn't be half as crude if you thought I really got offended by them. Cheer up. We're all alive."

-=Valco=-
"Yeah, we are all still alive," Valco said, rocking the action on his rifle quickly. The fresh round moved up into the chamber with a quiet
*SHINK* and he put it over his shoulder again. Alright, alright, he thought, wrapping things up in his mind as well as he could. Okay. Everybody is safe. This bar is annihilated, but that's none of our problem. Well, most of the bar is annihilated. As he was thinking his footsteps had carried him over to the bar slowly. First he searched around beneath the bar and found a few things of interest. One was a large metal box which, when he shook it, was full of something metallic. "Either ammo or cash," he said, tossing it onto the bar. The next thing that he found was a heavy assault rifle, apparently forgotten by the bartender in the scuffle. Strapped to it were several clips of ammo and he set it down lightly onto the bar, sliding it toward CD. "CD, hon, here's something a little heavier for you to arm yourself with. Just don't let James pick it up, ok?" After doing that he turned around to face the liquor rack, a smile on his face. "Hey, everybody some here and grab what you like. If you don't drink, come over anyway so that you can carry bottles for the rest of us."

((Inbound powerplay for the sake of moving the story around.))

The engine of a truck revved down the street from the bar, remaining completely unheard as the crew of the Crimson Wolves moved to the bar to gather up as much booze as they could. The streets were already completely cleared, a massive contrast to how crowded it had been when the Wolves arrived. The truck got a long start toward the bar, the roar of its engine only audible on the street just before...

With a ear splitting crash the truck burst through the front of the bar, sending a full section of the wall scattering around and into the bar. "s**t!" Valco shouted, yanking his rifle off of his back. A trio of armor piercing rounds clapped out, punching through the hood and doing almost no damage. What he saw next made his blood freeze, though. In the back of the truck a man quickly popped up, taking the yoke of a huge Gatling Slug Thrower mounted above the cab. "s**t, get down," Valco screamed, grabbing the people near him and pulling them down. The bar top was quickly splintered apart, but the fortunate addition of a steel panel behind the bar kept them from being shredded apart.

She had never intended to simply run away from the scene. With only a whip and a hunting knife for a companion she was as useless as tits on a bull in that fight. She needed something a bit more substantial than her whip, even if she could cleave flesh from from with it. Even in the tall heels she sped down the alleys and got home. Sitting on the table, clean and pristine, was her gun. Her baby, the one thing that kept money in her account. She picked up the heavy gun and grabbed her small case of scopes. All different kinds for different needs. With those in hand she grabbed a small remote and shoved it into her pocket before running back out.

Strapping the gun to her back she climbed onto the roof of a building and ran across the rooftops. She could still hear gun fire for a while, then it ceased. Maybe she'd been to late. No, she saw the truck before they could. She got close, close enough to get some good shots in but far enough away that the Gatling gun couldn't reach her. Laying on her stomach she set up her rifle and mounted the appropriate scope to it. The truck crashed through the wall of the bar and she could see the man pop up and take the Gatling gun. He managed to fire for only around thirty seconds before a snapping hiss echoed from her gun. In a spray of blood the man jerked and fell over, a large hole through his head, and the gun ceased fire. The loader jumped up to his feet but in another spray of blood the loader crumpled and fell out of the truck.

Lilluim let out one of her high laughs, no need to be secretive and rose to her feet. Pulling the gun onto her back she snapped her whip onto a pole and swung down onto the street. "I love this gun."

The sound of the first gunner falling was masked by the ringing echo of the the Gatling fire. However, the loader's death was a bit more audible, mostly because of the shouts from the driver and the front passenger of the truck. "The hell..." Valco quickly popped up with his rifle, taking aim and dropping the driver with a shot through his chest. The passenger had taken cover out of Valco's sight, but the huge man kept his rifle up, expecting some kind of resistance. Now who the ******** shot them? The two shots had left a spray of blood on the back window of the truck. It was then that he looked out and spotted Lillium swinging down off of a lamp post. "Knew ya didn't abandon us, Lillium" he shouted out to her. He wasn't able to celebrate any more than that, though, as motion to his right side caught his attention. A bounty hunter popped around the edge of the door and fired off a quick shot from his pistol. Valco was able to fire a few shots from his assault rifle but was quickly distracted as a shot punched through his mechanical right arm. On the way through it did...something, but it caused enough damage that his right arm seized up, no longer able to bend or twist.

"Take cover, keep tight lanes of fire, and keep the doors plugged." The synthetic nerves in his arm were all screaming at him in pain and he did the first logical thing: he dropped to the ground and pulled his knife free of his boot. In a swift motion he jammed it into the shoulder joint, quickly and roughly prying his arm free of his body. The screaming pain of the nerves died away and Valco sighed, hooking a strap to his arm and throwing it over his remaining shoulder along with his rifle. It was too heavy to use one handed anyway. As the Wolves scrambled to cover the doors more bounty hunters came around and bolstered the previously small numbers that had been in the bar earlier.

((The left and right doors are now covered by Bounty Hunters, and the main door has been plugged by the truck. The back door is behind the bar.))

CD took the gun gingerly from Valco, a look of distaste causing her mouth to slash into a grimace. She really wasn't all that fond of using guns, but she kept it. There were times when hand to hand and knives just didn't cut it. When felt herself get pushed to the floor, and the roar of ammunition went over her, she covered her head. Once the noise stopped, her head came up and she looked around. It was Lillium. CD glared at the other woman. Coward. She shook her head and checked the rifle, sighting down the scope.

James was still laying down waving the captured pistol around when the truck burst through the wall and came within milimeters of running over him, though it did hit his arm knocking it to the floor as the engineer let out a cry of pain that was covered up by the machine gun. "Owww..." he whined as he realised that he had to be quiet or else he would get shot. Once the shooting started up again he reached up towards the truck that was now parked above him and started messing with the truck's wires and fuel lines thanking any god that came into his still inebriated mind as he made sure that the truck would explode within a few minutes leaving him just enough time to get away and get everyone behind the bar that seemed to absorbed the bullets. Now which wire is the one that leads to the... the thingy that makes the... engine thingy... he tried to think as he continued to mess around and then grinned as he figured out which wire was suposed to connect to the right pipe to cause an explosion.

Thee Stranger

PostPosted: Thu May 01, 2008 5:20 pm

((Holy shizzzze... I got a lot of backtracking to do. O_o))

After dropping the machine gunner, Blade kept his eyes shut tight, and his head tucked low under the pool table as the Bounty Hunters returned retaliatory fire upon the pool table. But the gunfire soon stopped as the remaining hitmen could be heard retreating out the front door. Blade slowly opened his eyes as the dust settled and rose to his feet. He had a smug look of satisfaction as he looked down upon the carnage; feeling that his skill with his assault rifle was mostly responsible for the retreat. "We kicked their a**! Haha!" he gloated as he slung his assault rifle over his shoulder and strutted about the demolished room to the dead machine gunner. It was around this time that Valco ordered a damage report. "Not a scratch here..." he replied as he began to walk towards the bar counter. It was then that he noticed that blonde woman from before. She was just sitting there at the end of the bar calmly and coolly, sipping her beer as if nothing had just happened. Blade stared at her for a moment in utter astonishment, before turning back to look at the others. He stared at his comrades with a dumbfounded, perplexed expression as he pointed back over his shoulder to this strange woman behind him, but they were all to preoccupied with Logan and Koraj. "Ohh, just stop and quit it. You need to admit it. You guys sit on the opposite end of the barstool." he chuckled, further teasing the poor guys. It was then that Valco gave the order to relieve the bar of all it's beverages. "Wow, that's actually a great idea, Captain... why didn't I think of that?" Blade replied as he re-mounted his assault rifle to his back, and jumped behind the bar counter. He then quickly began to snatch up every glass bottle that had survived the gunfight; anything that looked like good stuff to Blade.

*KKKKRRRAATCHHHH!!!*

Blade flinched as he felt the wall to his right completely collapse along with a loud crash. He slowly turned to the commotion, tons of bottles of alcohol still jumbled up in his arms as his mouth gaped open in shock. A truck had just crashed through the wall. "What the..." he trailed off as he watched a bounty hunter climb up towards the gigantic gatling gun mounted on the top of the vehicle. "Ohh..." Blade's eyes widened in realization. "...s**t!" he screamed almost simultaneously with Valco, while falling to his side under the cover of the bar counter in order to avoid the subsequent downpour of heavy slug rounds. *KSHH!* When Blade dropped, he landed on one of his bottles of liquor so hard that it shattered, leaving him with some rather nasty cuts and shards of glass in both his right hand and in his ribs. Again, Blade kept his head tucked down, as well as a firm, protective grip on his liquor bottles. Before he even had time to really assess the situation, he noticed that blonde woman again. But this time, she was lying down behind the bar counter for cover along with rest of them.

*BA-KOW!*

With the sudden sound of a loud gunshot that Blade could tell was obviously a sniper rifle, the intense rain of gatling gun fire ceased. Quickly, Blade set all of his bottles down gently to ensure that no more would break on him. He then began to quickly yank some shards of glass out of his right hand. "Ah! <********> stressed he growled in pain. Before he even finished plucking all of the glass out, Blade drew his pistol and peaked over the counter; noticing the gunner had been capped. Heh... the gunner always gets sniped! It was a well-known fact. That's why the gunner position had always been considered as one of the most dangerous jobs in the military. And it just so happened to be Blade's job as well; both with the military, and the Crimson Wolves. But who had done the sniping? "Knew ya didn't abandon us, Lillium!" Valco soon answered that question for him. "Alright, Red! Hippy Hiku, brother trucker!" But soon after that, the Bounty Hunters had swarmed around the left and right doors, and began shooting... again! Blade ducked back down for cover, trying to drown out the gunfire so he could hear Valco's orders clearly. He then noticed that blonde woman out the corner of his eye, once again, and also noticed a pistol holstered at her side. Blade crawled over a little closer to her. "Hey!" he screamed over the gunfire as he pointed down at her handgun. "You know how to use that thing!?" In Blade's eyes, it wasn't like she had much of a choice. She was stuck and cornered in along with the rest of them. "Because I suggest you do if you wanna get the ******** outta here alive!"

The red head landed gracefully enough and gave her whip a little flick to release it. It was then she heard Valco's shout and grinned slightly. She could see CD near him and noted that little glare. Just a little pissy I saved yours a**, little missy? she thought to herself before making a little kissing motion at CD. She heard another shout, it sounded like that married man....what was his name? Knife...sword...Blade, yes that sounded correct. She'd done her good deed for the group, that was enough to earn trust, from the men at least, so it seemed. The girl would hate her, and it thrilled her to not end. It didn't take a genius to figure out the hardcore flirting with the captain pissed off the younger woman.

Like rats scurrying to a fresh dumpster the bounty hunters arrived in numbers again. She grinned and looked at them as they swarmed it. An evil look crossed her face and she held her whip, folded once, in both hands and loudly snapped it. "Mmmm....it's time for some fun..." she purred softly as she dropped one end, holding the knot firmly but loosely. Raising it over head she cracked it against the back side to two bounty hunters. The man jumped as their rears were violated by the sharp whip. Just as the spun around she snapped the whip again and grabbed one hunter's gun and knocked it at the other hunter's hand, causing enough pain to make him drop it. Flicking the whip back she released the first gun and snapped the whip back right across the throat of one. The laceration cut deep and the man clawed at his throat as he bled out. The second man more than a little confused at the whip wielding woman and was vulnerable to the whip wrapping around his throat and she gave a sharp pull, simply snapping his neck.

Vashti was hoping that she could drink her beer in peace, seems that her idea of having one relaxing day was not going to work. Once the truck had crashed in she decided that maybe taking cover for the moment was the best idea. She had her back against the bar as she was looking ahead for the moment thinking. It was then she heard blade talking to her over the gunfire. When he asked her if she knew how to use her gun she gave him a look, that made it look as if he just offended her. Without answering she turned her head in the other direction. Moving her head up as she looked out towards a group of bounty hunters, her right hand gripped the gun as she in a fast motion pulled it free of the holster and aimed it at the men. Her finger pulled the trigger, letting three shots ring out as three men dropped. She then dropped below the bar again. Her head turned towards Blade, who had questioned her abilities with her own gun.
“I can use it, don’t question a girl with a gun. Yet I suggest that we find a way out of here. It is going to be difficult to get out of here by blasting out.” she brought her free hand up to her face as she gave a heavy sigh. “And here I thought I could finally have a relaxing day.” mumbling to herself as she thought of what the hell she should do. Seeing as she was now caught up in their mess.

The Bounty Hunters were again beginning to play things a bit more cautiously as they didn't want a true repeat of what had happened with their first failed attempt on the Crimson Wolves. Any other bounty would have been immediately dropped, considered too dangerous to be worth the cash. But not this one...a combined bounty of 15,000,000¤ on the Wolves was more than enough to keep these people fighting. Hell, that kind of money could buy a town like Fado and all of the people in it five times and have enough left over for a Luxury Skimmer. For that very reason the dead and dying bounty hunters had little effect on the others. There were now about a dozen around the bar and they had opened a comm channel to the Corporation Criminal Capture Committee (4C) to have a prisoner transport sent.

-=Outside=-
As Lillium began to dance with her whip, splitting open throats and otherwise incapacitating bounty hunters rather easily, a pair of the hunters came up toward her with a slightly different tactic. One had a long Force Pike and the other had a pair of hefty Power Mauls. Electrical energy crackled off of all three of the weapons as the men charged at her, aiming to disable this combat ready woman.

-=Left Door=-
Looking across the bar to the other door, one of the three at that side of the bar freaked out as he saw three of his comrades fall down dead. He quickly pulled back and fell against the outside wall, fumbling with his rifle. His team wasn't quite as skittish as he was, though. They both propped themselves against the side of the building, letting off controlled sprays of automatic fire to make the Wolves keep their heads down.

-=Right Door=-
Three bodies flopped to the floor, cleanly shot by Vashti. Behind them were three more of the hunters. Two of them, much like their partners on the other side, began to lay down suppressing fire to keep the Wolves down. None of them seemed to see James where he was at under the truck, but that didn't matter. With all of the suppressing fire going the third man in the group positioned at the door on the right was able to slip in and hurl a rough Molotov Cocktail at the bar. It quickly burst into flames and created a nearly unbearable heat, meant to drive the crew out through the back door where there were four hunters waiting to pick the Wolves off as they scrambled out.

CD cradled the mostly unwanted gun in her arms, staring at the floor between her knees as she tried to think around the gunfire and they dying that was going on around her. She had a decided dislike of guns, and about an equal dislike of shooting, for all that her aim was impeccable. But now was a time when she couldn't fight hand to hand, or with a knife, or with any of the weapons she would much rather use, one of the bounty hunters would shoot her before she got a chance. So it would have to come down to her using the heavy assault rifle. She gritted her teeth, wincing at the unbelievable loud whoosh of flame that came as something exploded, shrouding the bar in cloying heat. CD coughed and moved a little, so that she rested on her knees, fixing her grip on the gun, the flames were a ways from her yet, and she was hoping to hit something. Settling the gun in her arms she popped up and sent off a round, aiming briefly at a ground of three bounty hunters before dropping back down and rolling to the side.
