Lily saw what a romantic thing that Sirius did, confessing all his feelings like that. She found herself thinking: I wish James could be like that sometimes... She was so caught up with was happening between Sirius and Marketta that she bearly heard what James said. She then remembered. She turned around, smacked him, and yelled at him. NO! She then turned back to listen to Marketta's answer.

They're farther down the train by the bathrooms, not in the compartment.
Marketa let Sirius hug her, reveling in the way it felt as she hadn't been embraced in so long. In her home, embraces were only saved for holidays or near-death experiences. "I do care," she said with a high cracked voice, burying her face in his shoulder shakily.

It felt so good having her in his arms, despite the circumstances in which it was happening. He wished that maybe they were happy, and Marketa wasn't on the verge of tears. He wished that, although even this contact made him giddy, he could take her about the waist and dance her around the train, sweeping her off her feet and twirling her about in front of everyone in the school. And he would have done it, too - many purebloods do make sure that their children learn to do elegant things like dancing early in their lives - but he felt it would not be appropriate.
Instead, he folded her arms even closer around her back, increasing the pressure in their embrace. He knew that Marketa was feeling something he could not sympathize with, and she needed something to hold on to. And, by God, I'm going to give it to her. She needs me.
"I know," he finally replied to her after several long seconds of silence.

After a moment, Mar realized just how daft she was acting. She had never wanted to be one of these girls, the ones who cry all the time and depend on their big strong men to take care of them. She pulled back carefully, sniffing discreetly. "Well den...as long as we're clear," she said mock-nonchalantly, trying not to be unbearably awkward (as usual).

Not fazed by the 'no' at all, James boadly said "Ah, Lily, my dear, you can't deny me forever!" She couldn't, right?

Mar shook her head quickly. "No, no, I am fine," she said with a smile. "Let us go back." Instead of walking about six inches away from him like she normally would, she timidly reached for his hand. Only problem was the moment her hand brushed against his it twitched away from nerves.

Sirius smirked; he immediately knew what that was about. Being the gentleman, he boldly but gently clasped hers. Giving it a reassuring squeeze, he led her back down the corridor towards their compartment, not bothering to give any explanation for the sudden display of affection.

"Welcome back," Remus said as Sirius and Marketa reentered the compartment, grateful that things seemed to be alright. He raised an eyebrow at Sirius upon seeing their hands. "Everything's alright, I hope?" he asked carefully.

"Thank you, Dear Moony. And, yes, everything's alright," Sirius said, although he was thinking 'delightful' and 'euphoric' were more appropriate words.
Then, he noticed James's red hand-print on his face and tried not to chortle. "James? Did you get... slapped... in my absence?"

"uuuuuhhh" James said, his spinning somewhat, not even registering that Sirius and whats her name were back. He stood for a second, trying to think of something that would get her. "You're pretty?"

"Very debonair," Marketa added, even if she had only caught the last few comments.

"I am a girl, yes," Marketa said with amusement written on her face. "You stick wit giving pretty flowers and keeping distance, you might leave good impression," she added, even though she hadn't actually intended to give him advice.
