The corners of Nathan's mouth quirked up into a grin. "Nah," he said, "I just know better than to trust assumptions. But I've seen a lot of folks fall into that trap, so I know what to look for."
Once Rafe was safely on KC's back, and they were headed out the door, Nathan looked around. "So where should we start looking?" he asked.

Kc looked around and patted rafes head. "simple rafe will tell us and we need to head inland because i had to walk quite a ways with rafe on my back befor i passed out"

Nathan nodded. "Well, we walked that way to get to the beach," he said, nodding in the familiar direction. "So we're headed somewhere in that range?" he asked, slowly waving his hand in an arc opposite the direction of the beach. "Or do you think it you were going more parallel to the beach?" His question was directed at either Rafe or KC. He figured that whoever was better able to answer it would pick it up.

Rafe pressed his cold nose against kc's ek and turned her head towards the jungle and she started walking holding a hand backwards blindly for nathen. "Ummm we go this way..." kc said walking with one hand holding rafe on her back.
