Echo saw Gild's headdress fall down over his eyes again and reached down to hold it up so the little one wouldn't miss it. She watched as one of the larger eggs began to wiggle, a small crack forming down it's middle.
Seren couldn't breathe as she watched the small fry wiggle and push out of the crack in the egg, The little pony inside slowly struggling to push it's way out.

Not to be outdone, one of the smaller eggs wiggled suddenly, rolling and rocking from side to side, nudging against its neighbors, which were just beginning to stir, no where near as active as the first two. Yet. Cy's breath was held as well, and one large hand laid itself over Seren's shoulder, squeezing gently.
Gild's wriggling stopped almost as soon as that of the eggs' had begun, his eyes widening even more, if that were possible. Not noticing that Echo was holding up his headdress, he patted his little fins on her arm, looking up at her, then back quickly to the eggs, then back up at her again. "Look! They're hatching! Really!"

The first egg's shell began to split, a small nose and flurry of wriggling fins to be seen inside. First the nose then the tiny face slowly began to emerge. Seren gripped her mate's hand as another of the smaller eggs began to crack as well.
Echo cuddled the little fry close, whispering in his ear so as not to spoil the moment, "Yes they are..." She stared, riveted, as she watched her neices and nephews emerge from their eggs.

Unfortunately, the second egg, though seeming to be more eager than the rest, had it a little backwards. "It" being hind-quarters first, a short female tail wriggling out from the shell and waving in the water as if confused as to why it wasn't getting anywhere.
"Do they need help?" Not having seen eggs hatch before, obviously not counting his own, Gild wasn't sure what to do. He did keep his voice low, following Echo's lead. "That girl looks kinda stuckish."

"She'll figure it out, you did." Echo smiled at the little boy. The first Fry was nearly free of his egg, his tiny face strained against the shell, his little ears keeping him from achieving his goal. Laying them back and swishing his fins hard, the small pony shot out of his shell with an audible POP! right into Seren's lap.
Seren cooed at the small pony fry in her lap. "He's beautiful, Cy. What should we name him?" The third egg, still wriggling, had a large crack forming right down the middle.
