"Yes we are," Lore replied back checking to see if Silverindir was with them, seeing as they seem to be slowly losing the children as they went.

At least they were within the castle, otherwise they would have to worry.

"Well..." Lin replied back thoughtfully, "I think I already like her since because of her Elrohir knows how good hugs are."

After all the man was pretty much hug deprived the first time they had met, and now he was all happy and good with hugs.

"That's good!"

"We'll see you later, Luthien," Elnara smiled, waving, as she took Lore's hand and started leading him back out of the courtyard.

"Bye!" Idhril called, waving enthusiastically from where she was cuddling in Lore's arms.

From his perch on Elnara's shoulder, Silvrendir also waved, and spoke for the first time since their arrival in the Southland. "Byebye!" he called cheerfully. "See you later!"

And then he settled, silent once more, into Elnara's arms.

Luthien waved back briefly before returning to her painting.

The passage leveled out, and Earendil led them through a narrow passageway. He was used to going through here in the pitch blackness, and now that there was a light, it seemed a bit strange to him. He smiled to himself and wondered if he would ever be used to how different the castle could be.

"Well," he murmured to Lin, "didn't you try to teach him that hugs are good when you were here the first time? But you're right, she did teach him how good hugs really are ... and he's a lot different from what he used to be, thanks to her."

He glanced down at her. "Do you like my uncle better this way?"

He followed Elnara with a small smile out of the courtyard. He had to admit, he was amazed and so far the people have been good, even though he had a feeling he was getting off easy so far.

"How are you feeling?" he finally asked.

"Yes," Lin replied back without thinking about it, "He's a lot happier this way and..." she paused for a moment, "And he's happy and Elnara is happy and they're all good togther."

While she did not know the whole story between Elnara or Elrohir, or the story at all. She knew that her Daddy was not too fond of Elrohir, and since she reasoned her Daddy would not be fond of someone without a good reason, she deducted that it had to do with Elnara, but if Elnara was okay then her Daddy wouldn't mind Elrohir so much.

Elnara smiled and reached for his hand, giving it a tight squeeze.

"Better," she replied softly. "Much better. I have to admit ... Elrohir was my biggest worry, coming back here ... well, him and Ruel and Riordan ... but ... well ..."

She trailed of slowly, then smiled again. "But I'm glad Elrohir's changed. If you had known him before, you probably wouldn't have recognized him again ... he used to be very ... well ..."

She frowned. "Very Sasku-ish. Overprotective, overbearing ... if he'd walked in on us in a hug when I last saw him, he would probably have tried to hurt you."

Earendil grinned. "I'm glad you're happy," he told Lin. "And you're right, he's a lot happier than he used to be. Haradhel's a really nice woman, they deserve to be happy together."

Haradhel especially, but he wouldn't go into that.

Lore coughed at that, somehow he did not doubt it would not be pretty if Elrohir had caught them hugging back then.

"Well if the story between you and Triton is any indication, I can see that," he admitted.

He wouldn't be worried though, he trusted Elnara and he would do his very best to help Elnara too through this. Against anyone who might not agree, or who might be trouble.

"Too bad we'll probably not be there when they do get married," Lin replied back, "But you know, the time difference does really weird things."

Though she realized she didn't know how old Earendil was at all, he was just a lot older than her, and he would keep getting older without changing well at least ovelry that much.

Elnara nodded ruefully. "Yes ... he had a very bad habit of jumping to conclusions."

She frowned thoughtfully. "He was never like that when we were growing up ... I suppose it happened after I left here for the first time. Mother had been gone nearly a year by then already, and Father had just died ... I suppose when I left he took care of the others, and that might have started his overprotectiveness ..."

"It does indeed," Earendil agreed. "Every time you come here, you look exactly the same, and yet I know you're just a child and should be growing ... and yet for me it's been years since I last saw you."

They reached another set of steps and began the slow ascent. "Perhaps you should visit more often," he suggested.

"It's quite possible," Lore murmured, "And if time difference serves me correctly... though you can't tell now at your age, you're younger than him. I bet anything that made it worse."

If one was to believe old stereoptypes about big brothers anyhow he mused thoughtfully. Not that he believed it, but his assistants swore in some cases it was true.

Lin nodded, she just hadn't because her parents wouldn't want her bothering people, but if the time difference was so great she supposed it wouldn't have mattered.

"I should, but I have to ask," she replied back, "What if no one is down there when I am? I won't get out."

Not that it had happened yet.

Elnara lowered her eyes, and her pace slowed slightly.

"If Tinuviel is any indication," she murmured, "I think I'm supposed to be closer to twice my age, than the age I am. She's got to be an adult already, and the last time I was here she hadn't been born at all. Earendil was only about a year old, or less ... I wonder how much he and Daeron have changed ..."

If Tinuviel was an adult, how old were they now?
