Krys Krys' smile suddenly grew bleak and unforgiving. Was an employee contradicting her? "Whatever. Just get back to work when you're done." ((Im pretty sure that in PST its way past 10...)) "Tell her not to look at me like that or I'll have her fired," Krys whispered to Elliot. From a distance, it would look like an intimate suggestion considering that Krys strutted away with sex appeal oozing from her every stride. 'That'll teach her to mess with me,' Krys smiled to herself as she sat on one of the comfy couches dotting the edges of the lounge.
((Where is everyone else?))

((I have no idea... confused ))
Anne looked as the girl leaned herself over onto Elliot and then walked away. "What a snobish git" She thought, but kept her pose, smiling warmly at Elliot. "Well, it looks as we got diverted from our destination..." She looked around. "Do you still want something to eat, or should we stay here?" The girl was seriously hoping he'd choose to go. Not only was she hungry, she wanted distance from that weird girl.

((Hey, ladies. I'm here an hour early. ;D)) Elliot watched Krys walk off and thought to himself, Wow, she's awfully rude when she's drunk. Korjata agreed with a nod after watching everything that happened silently, "Yeah, let's go with our first plan. That is, if you're still hungry." he looked over at her.

((yay! ^_^ I specially like the "Korjata agreed" bit...eheh))
"Yes, I am!" The girl retorted happily. She wanted to ask him about Krys, but knew it wouldn't be proper, and so, she remained silent as they headed for the lounge. "Wow, this place looks great! Your Hotel is amazing, you know?"

((Heh...whoops. I'm too lazy to fix it...When I posted it, I just got back from a 10 hour bus drive to Moscow where I marched with a bass drum in a parade and did a half time show for a College Football game.)) "Ha, thanks! I try to make it enjoyable for everyone that comes here." he replied to her with a grin. When they got to the lounge, a lady immediately walked up to them.
"Hey Elliot!" she said, unformally, "A table for two?"
"Yes, please!" he replied.
"Okay, this way!" she motioned them to follow her as she thought to herself, Wow, she is one lucky woman.

((wow, how cool! moscow...:drools smile )
Anne smiled at Elliot's comment. She loved his way of looking at things. Most people in NYC created things just for profit, and here was a rich, successful guy who still placed his clients' welfare on the top, and who truly enjoyed what he did. "You know, you are the most down-to-earth person I've met since I've arrived here!" She said, as the maid led them to a table.

((Yeah, it was fun...but I only got to watch half the game. I think the Vandels lost....again.)) Elliot grinned at what she said, "Thank you so much! You've got to be the best employee I have. You're so kind, yet hard-working!"
The maid set a menu down in front of both of them and said, "I'll be back when you're ready to order." and went to go serve more people.

"Oh, you'll get me spoiled, like that!" The girl giggled, feeling her cheeks turn red. "I love working here...The city, the people...It's all so different from anything I've ever seen!" She let herself lean against the chair, waiting for Elliot to pick up the menu, looking around at the other tables. They were at a half-secluded table, the low humming of different conversations distant.

Elliot picked up the menu and thought to himself as he flipped through the pages, Hmmm...I want something foreign....Oh! That looks good!! he looked at the picture on the menu for a dish called açorda. I'm not even sure how to pronounce that word, but the food looks great! he set the menu back down.

((loool portuguese food! I don't actually like açorda - unless it's my mum's -, but Anne may. wink )) "So, what do you advise me?" Anne asked, picking the menu from the table after Elliot put it down.

((Wait...I thought açorda was Spanish. sweatdrop Hahahaha...My mum makes it too. Really good stuff!!)) "Hmm...I don't know about you, but I was in the mood for something for foreign..So I think I'm getting...açorda...or something like that." he said the word slowly, and yet still pronounced it wrong.

((I dunno, they probably make it there, though. But it's pretty traditional here... xd ))
Anne chuckled "That's one of my favorites! And I miss it, too...I guess I'll accompany you." She smiled "And we'll see you your cooks are as good as my mum..."

((Ha, that is so kewl!)) Elliot laughed in his seat at what she said, "Maybe someday my chefs will challenge your mum to a cook off." he joked.
The maid returned to their table after serving a few guests and asked, "Are you ready to order?"
"Yes." Elliot replied, "We'll both have the açorda." his pronounciation was correct this time.
"Wonderful choice." the waitress replied and then asked, "Drinks?"
"Uhh...I'll have green tea." he said after thinking for a moment.
"Okay." the waitress smiled as she wrote on her notepad, "And you, miss?" she asked Anne.

((If you google açorda, you'll find all portuguese sites...^_^ Portuguese and Spanish gastronomies are very much alike, though.))
"Water, please" She said to the waitress, before turning over to Elliot "That would be fun...there's only the catch that she's an ocean away...But believe me, she beats many chefs I've met." Even though Anne kept smiling, a shadow passed by her eyes. No matter how much she loved New York and the adventure of being alone in a new continent, the memory of her home and the family she had left behind kept tugging at her heart. She missed the sunny days, the sea breeze...the sight of the river from the classroom windows on her previous college...
