Karrot stepped up to the Nocturne and waited for the others to catch up. Neyre covered his ears and raised his voice to be heard over the music,
"I fail to see how this place is a better one in which to talk, I can barely hear myself think!
"I think it was more that due to the volume, we are less likely to get eavesdroppers. not to mention that our races will be less of an issue amongst this crowd."
"You caught on rather fast. Your name was Thespion, was it? No last name? My name is Gaaron, but you'll not get a first name until I hear your story. Follow me, I'll get us a table.
and with that, Karrot entered the Nocturne.

(I believe BDG will be posting shortly, along with Fieran. As for me, I've got started on being a more active person on the whole.. We'll see how it goes. lol)

Artanis caught up with Karrot and the others and waited for the dwarf to get a table. While waiting he decided to make small talk with Neyre and Thespion.

"If you wanted to not be overheard, I can provide a sort of sound barrier around us." As he said that, he raised his hand and created a bubble of electrically charged air around them that prevented sound vibrations from coming through and going out. The only source of commotion was from the floor vibrations.

"My name is Artanis by the way. From what little I've seen of this city, I'm guessing you two are not from around here?"

Arcturus continued alongside Salen.

"I've done a bit of research over the past several years. Tell me, what change has occurred in Salen Az'il to make him want to bring the Ten back?"

Ah, the myriad responses he could have for this. Then again, it is something of a shadow's role to question whether the light is actually hitting its object. Shame I can't directly get into people's heads.

(BDG, I apologize if it's a little much. Then again, Arcturus is paranoid after all. ^^)

[Hey peoples^^ I'm back And don't worry about it Jack. It's a great reply]

Salen narowed his eyes as Arcturus spoke that dreaded name, but other than that they traveled to the Nocturne. Az'il. The one thing in his life that he was truly regretful for being a part of, and didn't even have a real choice in the matter. It nearly trumped his regret for destroying the Lotus's trust in him, but it didn't even touch his regret for betraying Lina.

"I have no thoughts towards the Ten," he finally said, "I am here for the former Lotus clan. The fact that they are trying to help the Ten makes no difference to me anymore." In essence, he had returned to his stance before the Ashra's curse freed his restraints that fateful day. And it was mostly true, for he had wanted to help the Lotus ever since his exile. The circumstances now were just a bit twisted to Troden's advantage now.

"Please do not call me by that name again. It is worse than being called a traitor." With that, they soon came upon the booming music leading to the club known as the Nocturne, "Here we are."

--

Silence passed as Rike and Malen stood infront of the group, the surprise and confusion on their faces slowly disappearing as Seven spoke. It was soon replaced with wariness, "What do you have to say about Signet?" Rike asked after a moment, his gaze falling on each face one by one, "If it has anything to deal with leaving here, I can't go. But Malen will be happy to."

Malen blinked and stared at her father, "Excuse me, but what did you just say old man? I'm not going anywhere!"

"Oh yes you are," Rike replied, "Anyone coming her from Signet obviously needs us to leave, and since I'm the leader of a currently crumbling city, and you are my daughter, guess who's going?"

"But how can you-"

"Malen Asanti, don't test me!" clearly Rike was in one of her rare serious moments, and room past experience Malen wasn't about to go against his wishes. Yet anyway.

Malen folded her arms and looked away from Rike to glare at the newcomers, "Alright, who the hell are you and just when are we heading out?"

--

Tyran looked at Amadeus for a few moments as he cooled down before saying, "We should probably go to the Nocturne. My father, even if he had stayed to answer your question, would have just pointed us in that direction anyway."

(Yay, you're alive! *glomps*)

"Very well then. It would seem we have something in common with dislike of names, among other things. I will hold both you and your actions to the statement of wanting to help the Lotus. May we find it is indeed the better path in these times."

I can see why he was so high in the Lotus rankings. Well done Salen Az'il, well done.

[It just clicked. Ashra's in the form of a ten year old right? Then it's a ten year old's body he'll have to take over, ousting the boy's soul in the process. o.O Yikes]

Kanna slowly sat up once she had finished her food and looked around. 'Tien' and 'Tara' had left to send off her message a while ago and hadn't come back yet, but she wasn't worried about for they could take care of themselves. What she was worried about was the strannge surroundings they had left her in. The aura surrounding the place did not hold the same overwhelming energy the Ten usually held over Signet, nor did it have the dark power if the Fae realm. She was in another place, and by the smell of it one that was far more advanced than even Signet. The pulse of electricy and the smell of fuel was everywhere. But their was an old vampiric oresence that overpowered all of that, and a dragon presence as well...

Aster I- A sharp pain caused her to cut the connection and hold her pounding head. It happened each time she to contact someone, and end the forced Kanna to give up. Whatever Troden had done to her was thorough in its torture. Isolation and no way to feasibly send for help... Troden you b*****d.

"Now I wish I had accepted modern technology." Kanna mumred, remembering the day Tara tried to intrduce her to cellphones. They looked strange, but atleast they couldn't be compromised by magic. She sighed once again before looking out of the window, "I can only rely on Tara and Tien for help." If only they were really there...

Meanwhile Forenthiel silently watched the two dragons as they sat down, her gaze falling momentarily on Troden before lingering on the woman beside him. She was much older than Troden, by many a milennia Forenthiel guessed, and her aura was powerful indeed from what she had felt only moments before. Why had Troden brought her here? Was she part of his plan to capture Ashra's vessel? She would find out.

"Troden, please intoduce us."

"My apologies," Troden murmured, drawing himself out of his own reverie as he stood up and said, "Lady Forenthiel, this is Daystar, one of my dragonkin. Daystar, the being who's home we have been so graciously accepted in is Lady Forenthiel, the ruler of Lorindel. She will help me in my cause for freedom."

Daystar? Hmm...sounds familiar... A smile crossed her lips as she stood up and walked over to the blind dragoness, her steps loud enough to warn Daystar of her approach, "A pleasure to meet you. May I shake you hand?" she asked, "I find it rude to touch my guests when they do not know it."

The sound of gunfire filled the air of the firing range, various guns being tested by off duty guards and by civilians looking to protect themselves should the guards fail in their duties. Xavier was among them, overseeing them and offering advice when he felt it was fitting. He loaded a clip into the rifle he carried, taking advantage of an empty space on the range.

He brought the butt of the weapon to his shoulder and squeezed the trigger, letting off several rounds at the paper target hanging some 40 feet from him. Each shot hit what would have been a vital spot on a living target; heart, lungs, head. He lowered the weapon and walked back to his place against the wall, his practise having been little more than a demonstartion in controlled fire for the inexperienced ones.

"No, we're not. And if I might be so bold, judging by the energy about you I'd say you've met my Half-brother upon your entrance to this Time."

Karrot then beckoned them over to a table in the far empty corner of the room, and once Artains stepped closer he felt the slight staticy feeling as he entered the sound barrier.

"You... Woman, you and the elf are to sit on this side of the table, Artanis, if you would, take your seat in the corner with your back to the wall"

"You are not to speak to Lady Thes-"
"Quiet Neyre! We must obey his wishes if we want him to listen to us. Sorry about him."

"I have no clue who you mean. About the electricity I use though, it's been a part of me since I was born. Sort of like magic I guess you could say. And Garron, at least be cordial to them!" A little less demanding of me too would be nice.. "Have you forgotten that Thespion and Neyre have names?"

Artanis rolled his eyes and sat down in the corner, still keeping the barrier up just in case.

"Where are my manners, I'm sorry Thespion, and Neyre. I'm just a little shaken right now. Would you please care to explain how you have come into possession of Dwarven gold, and Why is it that you want to talk to me? I'm guessing that's why you're here. And Who is your half-brother, miss?"

"Well, now please don't freak out, but to make my explanations much quicker it is imperative that you know. I am a Half-dwarf. My mother... was raped by a human, and died due to complications after my birth. My half-brother... well he just despises me. He took on a new name to seperate himself from me further. I'm not sure what that name is. My mother was your brother's decendant, and I am therefore related to you. I sought you out because my Half-brother and I have inherited the very rare abilities that you and your brother both possess."
"I met Lady Thespion in her travels, I was sentanced to be exiled from my home by my family. I studied the magics of the shadows and they perceived it as evil. Upon discovering that Lady Thespion did not hate me for being Elven nor for my skill at shadow magics, and after Traveling with her for a time, I swore I would protect her until the end of my life."

"But you're an elf, you won't die of old age"

"That's why he said it, He will protect me, and my descendants, until his death finds him... The other reason I came here... is because though I am only half-dwarf, I am the Dwarven Sage of time. I sensed a disturbance in time and rushed here."

"Unfortunately, Rike," Quinn began. He had done a bit of homework of his own, and so he knew the dire situation that the Desert Nation was in, "what happens in Signet, and the news that I bring, regards the lives of our Teachers. The Ten are dying, and in order to save them, all apprentices must be present. Your absence is not an option."

Quinn surveyed them both before continuing, deciding what to say. To him, their faces were grim. They were being forced to decide between the Ten, and a crumbling nation. A nation of innocents, or the ones that taught them how to be. Was there not a way for him to make their decision eaiser?

"Could you perhaps request assitance from the Mages of the Valley?" Quinn began slowly, not sure what kind of a response that would garner, "I can feel their magic over the hills and in the wind. It is still as strong as the stories say. Perhaps they could lend aid in your battle to keep this nation alive."

"And perhaps we can be of assistance as well." Mira took a small step forward before continuing, "My knowledge of magic is not that of my brother's, but there are things that I know that even he does not."

Stefan stepped up to just behind his wife and said, "And I am quite skilled in the art of diplomacy, and governing. This nation would be in good hands."

Forenthiel would suddenly feel Daystar's aura become sucked into itself. There was no resulting implosion, simply a void where her aura had eminated from her. Now she simply felt like a normal woman, not human, but nothing extraordinary. Daystar smiled and dropped a perfect curtsie, "A pleasure, My Lady, thank you for your hospitality." She replied appropriately, pale green eyes placid and kind. She then extended her hand, "A handshake would be welcome, afterall, it used to be a way to see if someone was armed or not." A kind smile.

One of the shadow cats sank into the floor, becoming a pool of shadow. It followed after Arcturus and Salen. It melded into Arcturus' shadow and was not seen again.

Merlin, upstairs, tilted her head and smiled, "Everyone is coming to visit." She purred, "They may need the conference room." she mused and stood to leave. Her feline entourage trotted behind her as she made her way down the hall towardst he steps and bone jarring music and gyrating bodies. She at the platform looking over the crowd and smiled when she caught sight of her newest guests. They'd have to wade into the crowd to get to the steps and to her.

Amadeus nodded but didn't say anything.

Goldie sighed, "Too bad we won't be going for a bit of fun. I could really do with a good bit of dancing right
now."

Aster stiffened and tilted his head. No, it was gone. For a split second, he'd felt Kanna's mind but it was suddenly cut off. He growled and looked down at the gigantic Hound before her, Find her. He rumbled. He'd summoned the Hound after his trail had hit a dead end. Whoever had taken his woman had put down a false trail. He held up a sleeve of a gown for the Hound to sniff. He buried his nose into the scrap of material then sneezed and looked back at him with eyes that were like tiny orange flames before turning and disappearing with a loud SNAP! of displaced air. Aster followed.
