Humbra In my experience a battle system pretty much hurts everyone. It especially hurts the willing people that take the time to make a good roleplaying post. Everything usually degrades into a pit of numbers without anyone caring about the quality of the written post. It's extremely annoying to see that happen. *Sigh* I've seen it happen to a lot of active guilds. Normally the population stays alright, but eventually the more 'literate' roleplayers move to a better environment that encourages roleplaying--not numbers.
It's incredibly annoying for me to see.
However, if someone creates a 'simple' battle system, everything should be set alright. Probably.
I've seen this 'system' used on another forum before, outside of Gaia. It's when there are four main stats: strength, speed, chakra soul energy, and endurance. Strength, obviously, is the ability to smash stuff. Speed is the ability to move quickly and be dexterous. Soul energy is the reservoir used for spells and spirit using techniques. Endurance is how long a person can go on fighting.
So, if someone tries to cut someone up and they have... 20 speed, and their opponent has 10 speed, the attack is going to hit. A person with 100 strength is going to do more damage to an opponent than someone with 2 strength. So it's whomever has the higher stat in that small area ( Person's Stat vs Opponent's Stat ) will have their outcome come true.
Simple. However, obvious as it may be, a skilled roleplayer can dodge an attack with their opponent is faster than them. Using the environment, for example, by erecting some sort of barrier might be an interesting tactic. So.. Yeah. Nifty.
Thoughts about who gets what numbers: Shinigami Academy Student: 40 (10/stat) Graduate: 80 (20/stat) Intermediate: ** Vice Captain: 200 (50/stat) Captain: 400 (100/stat)
'Ryoka' Average Bounto: 60 (15/stat) Higher Bounto: 160 (40/stat) Human: 15 [No Spirit Energy] (5/stat) Average Ryoka: 60 (15/stat) Higher Ryoka: 160 (40/stat) Lower Ryoka Shinigami: 60 (15/stat) Medium Ryoka Shinigami: 160 (40/stat) Higher Ryoka Shinigami: 200 (50/stat) Lower Hollow/Shinigami Hybrid: Normal 100 (25/stat) 'Powered Up' 120 (30/stat) Medium Hollow/Shinigami Hybrid: 160 (40/stat) 'Powered Up' 200 (50/stat) Higher Hollow/Shinigami Hybrid: 240 (60/stat) 'Powered Up' 300 (75/stat)
** From Graduates+, training determine's someone's stats. For every training post made, a shinigami can boost one stat by +1. So, if a shinigami trains in a thread and makes four hundred seventy two posts of just pure training--that person gets a bonus of +472 to their overall stats. So that's 80 (Graduate) + 472 (Training) = 552 stats to spend randomly on their stats. They'd be, through their activity, stronger than a captain. However, a captain could train and be just as active to get even higher than the graduate.
So that's: Strength. Endurance. Soul Energy. Speed.
.. So.. Err.. Thoughts? Or do you guys have a big complicated system like the d20 stuff in the naruto guild? I personaly like it, it has logic and is simple, sounds really similar to the one Ken and me are making right now.

I'd like to make another suggestion...A Hollow Classification thread.
Through out bleach I've heard of different sizes of Hollow and many different images...however just before Ishida and Ichigo fought the menos...I had the slight feeling that there was more than one of one particular type although of course slightly different, so I'd like to suggest a topic for it.
Following this style of form:
Ruby Classification System
Hollow size: (Very Small/Small/medium/large/Larger/Huge/Enormous/Gigantic) (i.e from the size of a foot ball at one end...to a Menos Grande at the other)
Hollow Type: (Humanoid/Arachnida (Spider type)/ Anphibious (Frog like)/Reptiles/Bird/Fish Type/Serpent/(any other suggestion)/(Combonations)
Hollow Colour: (Colour could represent types of souls digested such as human/animal/live humans/shinigami/wandering ghosts etc)
Hollow Intelligence: On a scale of 1-20 how intelligent it is, 20 being most intelligent and should be regarded as Vizard or Shinigami Hollow etc mainly...intelligent hollows rarely exist)
Hollow Classification: S A B C D E F G U (S being the highest, U being the lowest threat)
This should help with hollow designation and creation.

Question:
How long was the timeskip? Someone people were saying two weeks, and others have been writing about four years. I'm confused.
NVM.
"they guild will be going on a two years time skip staring next week"- Kenkaru, in the timeskip story thread.
EDIT: New Question:
"On this thread you can post a story about how your character actually passed the shinigami academy."
Err.. Where do we post our timeskip stories? Not the stuff with graduation, though. More along the lines of achiving Shikai, or meeting new people, ect? Or does everyone stash their two years of 'stuff' into that thread?

surprised You make the story the way you want. Meaning you can make it as a review of what happened to you in the academy or make it as a fully detailed one.

2nd Question: Can I still add stuff to my timeskip thingy/post?

It might be better if you didn't deviate from the original plan that you set up for your story, but I don't see a problem with it myself.
Especially since some of us haven't finished our time skips.

Suggestion: More than one match at once for the ranking trials; it'll be a lot faster.

3nodding Reads rules and announcements then decide if you want to be a shinigami or a human. After that you make a GOOD profile and start roleplaying.
