And I'll join in the kicking of your a**, whether I win or lose my own match. If I'm defeated, I'll gracefully blame you for it, and if I win, I'll blame you for not encouraging me enough to reach for the top.
Either way, you get jumped by two contestants in the tourney, and everyone walks away happy, /gg.

Thanks Snow. See, my reasoning for not sparing you is because 1) you don't know my character that I will be fighting, by that I mean you don't know her other ability (Which Vin here made me lose in order to be accepted!) 2) I don't see myself winning either way.

I have no reason to fear someone who needs a certain ability to be successful.

The Terren I was fighting in GTB with hun, was not the Terren I usually RP with. Trust me, the Terren in GTB is a figment of something I usually use. The only other thing I usually use is water as well. Not like it would make a difference, water is a deffinsive element.

I don't see how water's innately "defensive." Water pressure can crush a man much as anything, water filling the lungs can drown you, and I've seen .. god only knows too many times, people try to annihilate my character with water / its other form, ice, in this tournament alone. I've even had a guy try to scold my flesh off with steam.
In fact, I've never once had it used defensively against me. It's usually used to try and kill me, which I hardly call defensive and more distinctly offensive. But that's (all) my experience with it, so /gg.
Unfortunately, it's funny how effective my "main ability" is against water, since that's part of its gimmick; people thinking "OMG LOL, WATER > FIRE" gradually come to trying out a roleplay incarnation of "SCISSORS BEATS ROCK-.. wait, ********." - usually leading to a nice, toasty bonfire. Especially people who decide to try and usher fourth an ocean on me, it's the funnest ever when I get individuals like that. Because essentially, they're conjuring their grave.
Unfortunately, I rarely get someone who flat-out uses water. It's either ice to impale me, or they have some kind of "nanobot" that can eat my fire ala my very first GTB match years ago.
Special abilities and techniques are great, and I'm not gonna lie; if I have to, I use 'em. I don't follow the whole roleplay movement of "OMG IF U HAVE POWERS UR UNSKILLED" - we're in situations where clearly, individuals're gonna have more than super-natural abilities. You deal with it or lose/die. The big thing is, can you use it effectively?
Anyone can say their character can shoot a giant fireball at you. Anyone can summon an ocean onto your face, and anyone can move at the speed of light; such is the way of cliche' maneuvers.
But when you can diffuse the heat flow from that fireball, when you can utilize that giant tide of water against your opponent however narrowly, and when you can exploit the repetitive nature of your 'super-fast' opponent's movement to catch him, then use his own force against him thus essentially causing him to break himself - that's when the fun starts.
It's why you can't take things at face value in roleplay, especially deals like this. Water isn't anymore defensive or offensive than anything else; it and any other 'weaponry' or 'abilities' you have are 100% what you make them, that simple.
----------------------------------------------
But more importantly: http://youtube.com/watch?v=YxE2OW2ssj8&feature=rec-fresh Don't do that.
Also more importantly: some blood-sucking b***h of an insect, I felt moving across my right arm; I gazed down at it as it scuttled along, no doubt about to feast on my precious, precious blood.. and I punched it. Died on contact. Swatted it aside, and a tiny red dot of blood on my arm has proven: Hokuto no Ken is a 2,000 year old martial art and cannot be learned by scum like it.

Awesome, I get to freeze the poor sucker while Omi gets to toast the sucker. I call that satisfactory. domokun
On another note, if you guys are talking about uses of water, I'm your - almost - experienced user in that field. >>;; Remember Omi, our duel back in GTB 1? That was fun; an epic battle between flames and ice. domokun

But yes, I do remember this; 'twas an epic battle.
Still, nothing beats the guy who tried to flash-freeze my character by melting a giant wave of chemical-induced clouds on me; that was just uncalled for. :Toad:
