ninja The Eve of the Assassin-All Hollows Eve
The chill October air whipped his cape and scarf as Nolder Rivlen, master assassin, strolled up the deserted street. He was in an abandoned area of a small ancient town, with nobody in sight. All of the houses were boarded up, the streets were dirty and unkempt, and even the trees seemed to be dying from the lack of life in the neighborhood.
He came to the end of the street and stopped. Peering through the mask that looked like a skull he was adorned with, he set his sights on a huge but very broken down and old looking mansion. It was said that his next victim was hiding out inside, and he took a bold step toward the door.
The foyer looked deserted and oddly decorated. There were many portraits and paintings on the walls depicting gruesome-looking ancestors and violent acts. Though on the other hand, the mission Nolder was out to accomplish today was rather odd and violent itself Well, more odd than the usual for this assassin.
He was out for revenge. Revenge on an individual who had once been friend, but was now fiend. This man was named Bagarus Bellows, and Nolder would never forgive him for what he had done. Though what he had done, is thus far unknown to any but the two themselves
The floor creaked with every step he took. His hand was placed cautiously by his belt, where he kept his short sword. Bagarus would strike by blade too; Nolder knew his old buddy too well.
A sharp metallic scraping and a dull thunk of metal on wood broke the silence. Nolder turned to see a long blade stuck in the wall behind him; the sword had just missed his ear.
Nolder my good man! Pleased to see you again! A cheerful voice rang out from the second floor landing, where the very man Nolder so loathed stood, leaning over the railing lazily.
Bagarus Nolder muttered, his voice quite contrary from Bagaruss tone...cold and bitter.
Why do you look so glum? I thought we could have a chat and catch up! He took a daring leap off of the landing, and landed a few yards away from Nolder. The old wooden floor moaned in protest. The dim light coming through the cracks in the house revealed Bagaruss long hair to be a bright violet, and his eyes a deep red. You know, you were SO obvious, coming through the front door like that! He brushed a stray hair away from his eyes. I was all expecting a surprise attack! You disappoint me
It just shows how confident I am that I will kill you, Bagarus. Nolder replied. He unsheathed his sword swiftly, holding it steady in front of him. You wont escape this time! And he rushed toward Bagarus with immense speed, blade tip aimed straight at his heart.
Nolder came to a sudden stop as a pair of sais, held together in a cross by Bagarus, blocked the blade.
Well youre being very direct today! We didnt even get to finish talking! He leaned forward to push Nolder back, and swung around to strike him in the arm.
Nolders left shoulder seared with pain, but he ignored it. Now come, Nolder, how could you let me do that?? You left yourself wide open!
Did I? Nolder responded. A wide smirk spread across his face. Think again.
Bagarus looked down to see that Nolders short blade had gone right through his stomach. I know you cant feel pain because of that curse the demon placed on you. You will be dead shortly.
Bagaruss expression turned from cheeriness to sheer fury. NOLDER!!!!!! He cried. In a vain attempt to take him down, Bagarus lunged at Nolder, knocking him over. Bagarus groped around for his other sai, but Nolder was too quick for him; he reached under the bottom his pants and grabbed his dagger from its holder, and stabbed Bagaruss hand to the floor, stopping it inches from his sai. Nolder He said again, weakly.
Nolder got up and stood over Bagarus with a look of contempt. How very ironic, isnt it, Bagarus? That the very demon you murdered with your own hand placed a curse on you that eventually led to your own death.
Bagarus shuddered, and peered up at his murderer. Nolder Why are youwearing those ridiculous pumpkin pajamasand the crown?
An odd question from someone on their deathbed. Nolder replied. But it was a year ago. A year ago, Halloween, that you killed Terese. I thought I would dress for the occasion. And with that, Nolder strode to the door. I loved Terese, Bagarus. I loved her and you killed her. I will leave you here to rot. And with a final slam of the door, Nolder was gone, and Bagarus was dead.
The End.
