LordTares With out France we would be part of the commonwealth, you gotta give em some credit. From a diplomatic standpoint, possibly. From a militaristic standpoint, however, not a chance. The French crumbled in roughly a month or two in WWII. Sure, they had their resistance fighters, but who ended up saving them? We did. The good ol' USA. But yeah, they get credit for making us not all English. I hate tea. *The above statement is purely the opinion of Major Dangerousk and should not be construed with any diplomatic standpoints between countries. I hate politics anyway. It's just a bunch of guys arguing. *

We would not have won the revolution against england with out their support of the french navy to cut off the english reinforcements and redeployments and resupplies, also the french calvary and artillery were actually what did in most of the english units. In fact some 'american' units, were actually french units with just american officers put in charge of them. As for WWII, the french were also vital in the survival of england and the US for they were the warzone/buffer zone. The french army never fell but in fact withdrew into england and they were there along side americans on the beaches of normandy. French troops were the first to retake Paris from the germans. Of course that was under the help of the american and english. Also the french resistance helped retrieve and saved the lives of hundreds of down pilots, and smuggled them back across to england. One of the only reasons why we don't like the french now and consider them pansy's is because they refused to help us against iraq. But if you really look at it, iraq to france is like saudi arabia to the usa. It was where they got most of their fuel from at the time. So pretty much we screw them over.

Sir, I withdraw my arguement. I have been beaten in a intellectual battle. So with that, I raise my flag of forfeit. Now....on to more of Major's paranoia about Alaska...... ninja

My statement was simply the classic American Ideal of " We are better than you because we are us." not an actual supportable argument haha, but I do enjoy the intelligence displayed, I tip my hat to both of you.

If you want to talk bad about France, I suggest you do that in front of a Savate practitioner. On another note, I would like to thank LT for arguing that before I could.

I thank you gentlemen for a hospitable and generous display of affection and gentlemanly support of this debate. I rather enjoyed it, not because of side winning their argument, but rather because we were grown up about it, and we all learned/taught something. So once again kind sir's, thank you.

So, after a long time I'm just kinda wandering back into the fray. No one would happen to need me in any certain village would they, something lacking? I feel like being an old, broken man but not sure yet on the details.
