There was a noise from above ground, and Bakura tensed. Footsteps. He backed away from the stairs, his eyes locked onto the entrance, waiting to find who it was. Any guards would have been louder than this, but he still needed to make sure it was who he thought it was. He listened silently as the person above ground walked around a bit.

A figure slowly descended from the stairs and Bakura sank down to one knee. The air was deadly silent as the person finished going down the stairs; he had long white hair and a mask covering his face, and was wearing the Millennium Eye. He didn't seem to notice Rei, or if he did he didn't make any movement showing that he did. He instead went over to Bakura. "Well, well, 'Thief King'... you certainly did get yourself into a pickle." The person said with heavy sarcasm. "What use are you to me if you were about to be killed that easily by the pharaoh? It's no matter, though. The others are coming soon, and you won't be needed."

The person tilted his head up so that it appeared that he was looking at Rei, even though his face was hidden. "Oh, it's not the pharaoh's men... But it will be the pharaoh. And Bakura, and a few others. Such lovely little pawns, not even aware of what they're doing. Like you, 'Thief King'." He chuckled, patting Bakura's head with a gloved hand. Bakura was silent. "Your trivial matters like this village and what happened between you and the pharaoh before are meaningless. All we need is to kill him."

The figure chuckled, and brushed past Bakura, going over to Rei. "You speak the ancient tongue very well but I can tell that you are not from Egypt... or the past, probably. By what means have you arrived here, and why?" He glanced over his shoulder at Bakura, who was motionless. "We can take as long as we want. I have time paused for the moment."

"I am Zorc. Or, at lease, I am a portion of Zorc's soul sealed into this man." He said, lacing his fingers together. "I know this because I already know how everything will play out, if the pawns move correctly. Bakura there is a pawn, and so is the Bakura from the future who will be coming soon, along with his host. This pharaoh and also the future one, Yugi's 'other half', are just pawns." There was a slightly angry tone in his voice as he continues. "But because of outside interference, things have not been going very smoothly. You, for one thing. You made this Bakura hesitate before, but it won't happen when the others pawns come."

The man shook his head slightly. "Just wait and see... Everything might make more sense to you later." He said, then went back up the stairs. Once he was gone Bakura shook his head, getting to his feet as though nothing had happened.
