But... Blood Letters sucks now since they have no special entry, they got rid of their 3+ armour save AND their powerweapons... D:

I quit my Khorne army when the new dex got out. : D

I think daemons suck now without any special rules by their own. o:

But something that's broken with chaos is the Lash Whip psychic power that Slaanesh have, all armies without TONS of vehicles are doomed. D;

I want to focus on close combat attacks more than ranged weaponry. I appreciate Havocs, but I don't want to make a Tank commitment yet.
First off, Havocs are the Devastators equivillant, not tanks. The Predators are tanks.

However, I would like to stress the importance of Havocs as I've seen them, and if anyone disagrees, please let me know. I don't play Chaos, after all. Anyway, even if you are focussing more on HtH combat, I think it is still important to not leave out range entirely. By putting four Lascannons in your squad, you can obliterate any tank on the field. By putting four Heavy Bolters, you can spell doom for enemy infantry. Sooner or later, you're going to be fighting enemy tanks, and sooner or later, you're going to be fighting greater amounts of infantry. Personally, I think Havocs are a good, solid choice.

As per the Predator, tanks are a good way to easily boost up your firepower and points, allowing you to fight in larger games. At first I didn't want to get any tanks. I thought I might get some eventually, but the game was based around squads, and I loved that. However, after I got my first Leman Russ, I'd flipped my opinion around completely. Now, I can't get enough of vehicles. Maybe not immediately, but I wouldn't wait too long before giving it a shot. You'll need one eventaully anyway.

And what's the Lash Whip psychic power do? Why does it doom non-tanks?

I knew that Havocs were not tanks, I was just saying I'd rather have them than any tank, so matter how badly worded that sentence is.

You mean Lash of Submission. xd

Anyhow, I wasn't too fond of the new Lesser Demons entry also, but at 13 points, and Fearless still, they have a new role...instead of being CC killers, they help Tarpit units, which I really like. Throw a Demon Pack in the face of a CC troop heading towards you and let them chew on that for a turn or two. Plus, they aren't Instable anymore meaning that they won't disappear on you when you need them the most.

As for the Lash, the Lash is only really good when you have 2 on the table, and mostly on Princes. 1 isn't effective enough by itself, and Sorcerers on their own are a bit soft, but giving them to DPs? Hell yes.

I predict once the Daamon codex comes out Chaos will be very popular in Apoc, being able to mix powerful Daemons and Space Marines again.

Anyone else think Nurgle is pretty cool lately?

Oblits, in my opinion, are a better HS-slot choice than Havocks. Sure, they're Lascannon bait, but they still are 2-wound models with a 2+ save that can move and fire, plus (Partially) hold themselves in combat. With Marks, they can become even more durable (Usually due to Nurgle or Tzeentch marks).

Daemons just aren't worth it for me anymore. There are better things to spend points on (However, Greater Daemons are still worth it for their cheap cost).

And Lash is broken, especially if used right. Ever see someone use it to line up a squad for a Doom-Siren template? Nasty.

You can give them marks now?

As far as I'm aware, yes. Raptors too.

Agreed >:

That and mobbing up for flamin' is what I've been going through with my orks when playing against them chaos boyz, and keeping my cc units away from their lines.

I hope that psychic powers will change in the next ed... D:

Anywho, agreed on the daemons too, they're not doing anything really anymore, but greter daemons are still fun to use, I don't have the codex myself, can they have wings? Or are they all footsloggers nowdays?

From what I understand, all are Footsloggers (I myself don't own the Codex, however). I also can't remember, but I think they may have made it so only Lords can summon them (Though I'm probably wrong here).
