Tor hadn't been expecting her to rush at him and throw her arms around him, and as such he went falling backwards, pulling her with him, to the ground. Tor blinked a moment as she laid on top of him, "Uh, Hi...." He finished pulling another waffle from his hair as he continued, "Fine fine, nearly died, nothing new. Stupid ******** b*****d of a metaphysical representation of my past ******** up my life....mostly fixed though..."

:::As in most cases, she had no idea what Torment was going on about, but it didn't sound pleasant. She clentched her arms around him tighter:::

Oh goodness, I'm so sorry...I get so afraid when I don't see for such long periods of time. I worry that...that... :::she seems as though she's about to cry...but then she picks up a sausage and stairs at it inquisitively:::

What is this?

:::Cora was at a loss for words. She jogged her memory of anything pertaining to what he said:::

Vampire...is that not one of man's mytholigcal creations. Their existance was disproven....

:::But if he's not mistaken, the world he lives in is in desperate need of heroes:::

Why is it your job to hunt him..?

"The vampire, and all your other "myths" are only fiction because thousands of years ago your ancestors wiped them off the face of you planet. All myths have a basic element of truth. Existence is easy to disprove when the creature in question doesn't exist at all any more."

Malazar sniffs and shakes himself like a dog, his black hair whirls around his head before settling back down. He pulls it out of his face and hooks it behind his ears so he can look at Cora clearly.

"And its my job because I'm a Slayer, and Befoment is my problem."

Tor sorta tried pushing her away, he didn't exactly like being in this position with her clinging to him quite so hard, especially with him without a shirt. He blinked as she she picked up the sasage patty, "Its a frozen breakfast thing, sausage, ya cook it and stuff, eat it. I highly doubt it can even remotely be called edible, but we still eat it in my time."

:::Cora snapped out of her concern for Torment momentarily, and lost interest in the sausage. She realized that her enthusiasm landed both of them on the floor. As she stood up, Malazar explained the existance of Vampires and his involvement. She held out her hand to Torment, gesturing to help him, and replied to Malazar simultaniously:::

So, vampires are not myth, they did once exists... in your time. :::Something didn't click::: Malazar, what time are you from exactly? The technology I witnessed in your guest room suggests that it cannot be long before mine, yet...vampires have not been believed to be real for many centuries.

Tor slowly pulled himself to his feet with Cora's help, placing himself in the conversation, "Well I've seen some crazy advanced technology in my time, but also some extremely advanced magic, uh, myself as an example. If pops were here I can bet he'd be babbling on about alternate timelines...for about three days. God, getting him to shut up is hard as ********...."

"The year on my world is 2178. I believe we are from different dimensions Cora, all three of us."

Malazar nods to Torment.

"Hile Wanderer, that is... an interesting choice of clothing."

He grins half-heartedly.

"Try boiling those breakfast sausages, it makes them more edible."

Different dimensions? :::Cora was suprised, she thought to herself:::

Then...the Brink of Time works both interdimensionally and multichronologically. Neither of you ever existed in my world :::she smirked::: So then perhaps vampires never did either.

:::She looked over at Tor...and picked a smushed peice of waffle off his arm:::

Tor pulled the towel from around his neck and used it to further brush off any remaining ice and breakfast particles. He glanced at Malazar while he spoke, "I just barely got out of the shower and went down for breakfast, didn't really expect to pop in here, ya know?" He thought over Cora's hypothesis for a moment, and responded, "Well thats not neccessarily true, Epic Magic was thought to be lost, hell, 99% of the populsation of my world likely never even had a concept of it, and it was found again. Similarly your world could have completely forgotten it's past. Judging from what I know of your world, I'm betting on that. Truth is just a set of ideas that the majority, or most times the Government, forces everyone to believe."

"Oh they did. Maybe not in the same form but they did. Otherwise you wouldn't have legends that tell of them. The whole concept of myths and fantasy are a racial defense mechanism, your culture contains references to these myths so if they were to ever resurface you would be prepared for them. Otherwise your fiction would just contain evil monsters without unique and highly specific methods of dealing with them."

:::Cora put her hand to her head, not sure what to believe:::

Before I began appearing here, I believed my society was entirely benevolant. The fiction in which I once heard of vampires was obtained of my own will...literature and fictional writing are considered anthropolical historic insight into the minds of ancient humans. It is no longer created...and completely irrelevant to the people of my time. I thought it was good of humans to keep it around, despite it's uselessness, in an attempt to respect those that came before us.

But now that I know so much of what my world is missing...I wonder what is being held back out of necessity :::her eyebrows furrowed...in anger::: and what is being held back out of control.

:::Cora had felt frustrated at her time before, but this was the first moment she had ever felt anger towards it, towards almost anything:::

Tor glanced at Cora, never having seen her like this, "Yo Cora...you ok? I somehow get this whole nuclear apocalypse thing coming from you. For all we know it could all just be a coincidence that your world has these stories. Example being my father jumping around the timelines and leaving little things behind. I still stand by my views on truth though, they certainly seem to fit your world."

"Don't kid yourself laddy, you've heard just as much, if not more about her world as I. No society is that perfect, and you know damn well that while your father could have sired a few stories nothing but the real things could have inspired the massive amount of legends and myths available on any world to those who take the time to look. I know what I'm talking about, the Guild has done specific research on this same-said phenomena."

:::Cora released her breath, anger along with it, and moved glumly to the bar, and pored herself a glass of wine, she spoke quietly over her shoulder at the two men:::

I hardly know what to believe anymore...or why or when. :::Instead of thinking more on it, she closed her eyes to fully appreiciate the sense of taste she had lacked while she was away from the Brink:::

Malazar stands abruptly, worry on his face.

"Something's wrong, I have to go. I'm sorry lassy."

Malazar strides out of the room, not fading out or going for the door, but instead entering his room at the Brink.

*exit Malazar to Room*
