hello memories Info on my Clarient: AI have a Vintage, Wooden, Signet - Soloist. I've also got another clarinet, of which i dislike playing. I use it when my other is broken. It's a Wooden, Jean Barre, made in France. It's in pretty poor condition, seeing as my step father left it in his storage thing for years. D< I need to get it cleaned up. Probably will have it cleaned up and get the corks fixed this summer or something. Depending on if I'm going to march clarinet or not. Meloncholy Seraphim Hello, i've been playing my clarinet for about five years now and i'm looking for a new one. I like high rich pitch and I can only push out half of the third high octive sweatdrop Any suggestions on either a good clarinet or how to get that pesky octive out? What brand and thickness of reed are you using? I use a 4 1/2 Mitchell Lurie Reed. o: It works pretty well, just takes a while to break in.
I'll express my love for you, in the key of Eb minor. u use a size 4 1/2 dang...im playing on a 3 our band director wants us all on 3

Hello! I have a buffet limite wooden clarinet and it is a professional one, I'm a sophomore but I've been a first clarinet since I was in middle school band, never a second or third. I use a 4 vandoren. I'm in the third chair but that's because the two ahead of me are seniors... oh and this is my 7th year!
Wow, can you tell I'm obsessed!

I miss band so much. I started out as a second clarinet but loved the deep rich harmonies we got to add. Sometimes ours were the best parts. By the time I graduated High School I was section leader as well as a squad leader for two years. Then when I joined the community band in college I was back down to being a third clarinet. I just miss playing! Every once in a while I'll pull out my clarinet and play but it isn't the same as being in a group where all the instruments add harmonies and melodies that blend beautifully to actually form a song!

Hehe. I'm a Clarinet player as well as many of you guys. I'm 3rd Chair out of at least 25 or more other Clarinet players. <3 I'm not in Marching Band this year, but I'm joining next year! w00t! Unfortunately, I'm just in plain old Concert Band. But, it's not so bad. xD

And, I've been playing since last year. I've taken plenty of Clarinet lessons to at least know what I'm doing. Lawl. But, I do have to say I dislike our Band director. He kind of stops at least 2 or 3 times in the middle of a song to correct us on something just so little. ;_; And! Everyone thinks he's a pervert. -Shrug.- I kind of agree, but then again I don't want to say anything because our band director is kind of fun. [He's throwing us a huge blow-out soon. w00t!]

CrazyBoutYou22 Meloncholy Seraphim Hello, i've been playing my clarinet for about five years now and i'm looking for a new one. I like high rich pitch and I can only push out half of the third high octive sweatdrop Any suggestions on either a good clarinet or how to get that pesky octive out? i would probably try i bigger reed. they give a better quality sound and they can play higher notes. if you are playing the biggest reed, then try to bite down a little more or tighten your mouth more. make sure your jaw isnt dropped either. ive been playing clarinet for about 5 years now and i want to be a band director so i know what im talking about. that should do it. oh no don't bite down on your reed, don't ever do such things like that, you'll be forcing the tone out and it'll sound very...nasal ishy.
What size reed are you using? In any case, tighten the sides and loosen the jaw, open your throat and use your air stream. Doing long tones helps in this proccess because it helps with the tone so you aren't clawing you eyes out when hearing yourself play high notes [trust me, there are times when I'm playing high G and I want to just kill myself XD]. If you lean forwards when playing a piece with high notes it also makes you get the high notes out.
What is the highest note you've gotten to? Because if you're up to highh G, then your fine, standard repetoire only requires you to get up to high G, even the repetoire now will only write up to high G [unless we're talking about copland's concerto], going above that is a little too much for the clarinetist and audiences.
eep I have three auditions this month! ><

I'm using size 4 rue lepic reeds...but they are harder than the standard vandoren size 4 reeds ><;

hey i've been playing clarinet for six years now and am a sophmore at Sheridan High School. We don't have a marching band but my old school did. Instead we have a pep band which is really boring but we get to wear almost whatever we want instead of the nasty uniforms. All-State is also something our band really works on instead of doing a marching band
