What school of post high school education told you that you were stupid??? I've been a high school teacher and a proffesor. If the school accepted you and you qualified, it's a joint venture between you and the college, university, etc. I don't care that some one at a college, etc, told you that you were stupid. THAT WAS A GROSSLY UNETHICAL THING TO TELL A STUDENT. Tell yourself that who ever told you that, that they were a BAD, ROTTEN, and, probably, SEXIST person and you no loner have to believe what the *#@* said. scream scream scream

Beautifully said Mara. It's a personal pet peeve of mine, I admit. I am sick and tired of people bragging to the point where it's intended to rub in how wonderful and "smart" their child is. I love talking about my son, but I think at times when it comes to "MY kid knows his ABCs by age 6 months" or something that pisses me off. That's why I left babycenter after someone suggesting since my son doesn't meet those "milestones" that he might be mentally retarded.

Thought I'd say something and say it here since so many come into Main Chat.
We've had increasing amounts of posts that do not require their own threads being made in the forums and are better suited to this thread or to your Blogs. It's getting impossible to find the valid discussion and help threads in the main forum anymore amidst all the rants and ventings and gosh knows what elses. PLEASE think about whether or not you really need to be making a new thread for what you want to say. If it's not to provoke discussion or provide a service, like the special needs thread, then it most likely does not belong in the main forum: it's better suited for main chat. Also remember: we have a thread specially dedicated for those stupid people in our lives as well as a thread for parenting questions. wink Please see the Ultimate sticky for details.
EDIT: We have restickied some of the above-mentioned threads to make them easier to find. Please have a look.
Also please keep in mind that the focus of GPG is not to toot your own horn or play the one-better game. It's here to allow parents to exchange ideas freely (without judgement or that other junk that goes on in the forums outside), get help or to just enjoy the company of others in a similar situation. biggrin Please help keep the GPG friendly.
THANK YOU.

Mara-ani Also, as an afterthought- Texas Momma, I really think that the money you are recieving from your dad could be better spent on ensuring that you recieve complete and competent medical during your pregnancy. Your daughter is not going to learn anything at this school that you can't teach her at home, and your health is more important. My medical is now covered, Im reciving the best doctors money can buy in this part of texas. 3nodding

My oldest wont be able to start school for another year (darn being born after Sept 1st..), I did have the option of putting her in a preschool.. although with #3 being born.. I think I'll keep her home for this next year and keep working with her like I am. So that while she is still learning, and so she gets to bond with her baby brother. She does however, get social interaction with the other kids at the gym (my husband and i signed up for a gym membership and they have a place for the kids there) so I am not too totally worried about getting her into a preschool. (it would be a pain to put her in now.. and then when the baby comes in june.. try and take public transportation there and back with her, her little sister.. and a newborn baby.. it just doesn't work since my husband works during the day and I am not yet ready to learn how to drive.. I plan on driving before she gets into school tho).
I do plan on letting her go to public school, of course if it so happens that she ends up not being challeneged enough I will see into getting her skipped a grade if that's what will help. And I plan on being as active as possible in her schooling and any activites the school does with my kids.
I really did want to get her into a private school, however around here the private schools cost a good $800-1000 a month.. and that, just isn't reasonable to spend that much per month on one childs education.. when then I would have 3 in school.. and $2400-3000 a month on schooling?.. Yikes..
anyway, lately I've been trying to enjoy my two girls (while it's just us girls until june).. and not worry too much about their "milestones" ect.. If the doctors had any worries about them, they would let me know and then I would think something was up.. but I can't go on just worrying about every tiny thing like I used to. It was just getting too stressful on me.. and it was stupid of me to worry too much.
wow. it's late.. and im so tired.. ^_^;; Ja matta.. i will go pass out now.. *bonk* ZzZzZZz

Have you thought about getting a baby name book or going to babycenter.com and doing a poll to send to friends and family with suggestions?

Heh, Tet and I have planned to use the name Zoe for a girl for quite awhile. We're probably gonna use Evanna as a middle name because it's a variation of my maiden name.

Arrg! I love my children so much, but its so very hard to not be a tiny bit upset when they pour chocolate milk into my scanner, and make it useless. Ohwell its just a piece of machienery. anyone else have things ruined often by their kids? I know ive went through 2 digital cameras, a digital video camera, a tablet (magnetic letters go so well with them) and countless other things.
atleast they havent decided the toilet is a great place to put things.

We picked Zoe because we liked the sound of it. Also, it was a name my mom considered using for my sister and me. She had it written in the back of the baby name book as one of the names she liked.
