Friday!

At last, Thursday was over. Although it was impossible, of course, for a day to have more than 24 hours, every student body at Monster High could have sworn that Thursday felt like it had lasted something like three months. How crazy was that?!

Perhaps that was why Friday seemed to be commencing at such a rapid pace, almost as if it had to make up for how excruciatingly long Thursday took to finish up and get out of the way. It was the last day of the school week, the last day of the last week before the end of the Scaremester, and with final hexams looming next week every student was eager to enjoy a nice, normal day of school.

Another reason Friday was hexciting was because after the final bell rang, it would officially be date night! Rumor on the street was that Cleo de Nile and Deuce Gorgon were planning a fancy (and expensive) night on the tomb. Other students, like Ghoulia Yelps and Sloman "Slo-Mo" Mortevitch were reportedly planning a more intimate night of staying in and studying together. And other students, many of the more single persuasion, were rebelling against the idea of date night by planning a big ghouls night out with their friends.

No matter what their plans, each student was charged up by yesterday's big victory in Graveball to seize the day and make it the beast Friday possible!

Draconia yawned as she opened her locker to remove her books for the day. Last night had been a rather late night, with first the celebration on the field, and then a celebration at the Die-ner, and then finally a celebration that involved the cleaning up of both Monster High and Luna High's grimnasiums. Still, it had been a good night.

The late night was why she wasn't surprised one jot when Glen had failed to come pick her up, instead leaving her to walk to school on her own today. She didn't mind; it gave her a chance to organize her thoughts for what was going to be a banner day in Drama Class.

"Ms. St. George!" Draconia nearly jumped at the sound of Mr. Where's voice alarmingly close to her ear. The bandage-clad teacher suddenly popped into sight, a clipboard at the ready. "Are you prepared to post the casting list for 'Sinistaria!'?"

"Oh yes, indeed!" Draconia recovered from her surprise and smiled. Her first written play to be performed! Her directorial debut! "Have you finished picking the roles, sir?"

"Indeed, and 'twas a finer lot ne'er cast,'" The teacher flipped through the list on his clipboard. "Not a failure among them, not to the last."

"What a lovely couplet."
Draconia answered as she was handed the clipboard and glanced down the list. Her smile grew even wider. Mr. Where had taken all of her recommendations for casting. Her ruby heart gave a warm, fluttering beat in her chest. "I can't wait for re-hearse-al to begin! I only hope that a week is enough time..."

"It will be all right." Mr. Where adjusted his dark sunglasses. "On the final day of the Scaremester, when all of the student bodies have finished their final hexams, nothing is better to signal the beginning of winter break than watching a play!"

"Well, I agree with you on that! I'm not sure about everymonster else..." Draconia tapped a claw on her lip, deep in thought. "At the very least, I must say I prefer doing a play as a final rather than an hexam for this class!"

"I must finish my preparations for class, Ms. St.George. Would you do me the honour of posting the cast list for the rest of the class to see?"
Mr. Where asked, before blinking right out of sight before Draconia could answer.

She headed over to the corkboard outside of the Clawditorium and started to hang the list up. Soon, students started to filter over, checking out the list to see where they had been cast.

"Yessss!" Heath Burns pumped a fist in the air as his head started on fire. "Cast as the main villain!"

"And I want a new iCoffin charger, and I want that dress over at Gravey's, the one with the super-sparkly top and the purple chiffon train in the back, and I want a new running wheel for Clickers, and I want-"

Atomica was running through her Cryptmas wish list for Gryff and Lin as they stood in their usual spot underneath the stairwell before school officially began. She was soooooo over this Scaremester right now. Even if her internal chronometer told her it was one more week till winter break, Atomica's mind engrams were totally already on howliday.

"You know what? Instead of just listing off what I want, how about we go to the Maul tonight? I could start a spreadsheet for each of us-"

"Oh! I can't!" Lin suddenly piped up, as if he'd just remembered something.

"Why? Deadtention again?" Gryff asked, sipping his soy, free-trade, no-dairy half-caf mocha boo-latte with bat-sprinkles. "Something blow up at the game last night?"

"No...." Lin paused, for dramatic effect. "I...have....A DATE!!!!!"

"NO WAI. WHAT. ERROR 404. REACTION NOT FOUND." Atomica hexclaimed.

Dashner walked with Falconnie down the hallway prior to school beginning, waving at people as they passed by. Falconnie shook her head, stopping Dashner and fixing the green beanie on his head.

"If you want to impress Peggy, you nee to learn how to wear things straight!" Falconnie told him, as he shook his head trying to push her away. Much like a young child to his mother.

"It's gonna be fine. Besides, we have the school day first. Anybody that knows me knows that I don't try to dress nicely at school!" He said, playing with the zipper on his jacket. He didn't exactly link wearing this jacket, but his leather one just wasn't warm enough for the weather.

Dashner and his sister parted ways and he carried his bookbag to his first class - Dead Languages. He walked in and looked around at all who were there and sat down, tapping his claws on the desk.

Dashner Hawke
He walked in and looked around at all who were there and sat down, tapping his claws on the desk.

"Dashner!" Rory stumbled into class, halfway through a yawn. "Hail the conquering hero!"

Rory plopped his books down next the bird-boy, finishing off his massive yawn. He hadn't slept well the previous night. Despite Thursday feeling like it had lasted, oh, one hundred and eighteen days or so, the night had ended up sleepless as Rory had been nursing his heartbreak and fangxiety rather than getting rest.

Still, he plastered on a smile at Dashner. He'd made the final play in the big game, after all. Dash had a lot to be happy about.

"Nice to see you're not blue anymore."
Rory also noted. Whatever dye the Luna High team had used in their prank on the Nightmares, luckily it hadn't lasted the night. "It wouldn't do to be blue on your...d....d-d....date!"

Rory spat out the word, trying very hard to sound casual and not at all like his mirrored heart had been shattered into a trillion pieces the day before. This was a New Day, he told himself inside. New Day, new Rory. This was the first day of the rest of his un-life.

"So, what are your plans with Peggy?"
Rory asked, super-casually to Dashner. "If you happen to want a couple of tickets to the Johnathan Bolt-on concert, it just so happens I can help you with that."
PostPosted: Tue Feb 24, 2015 11:46 am

It had felt like foreverrrr since Dash had seen his bluddy, Rorrim (Even though they most likely saw each other the night before). He grinned at the boo, but then raised an eyebrow. He hadn't seen his friend in awhile but he could still tell when something was troubling him. However, he decided to just answer his question.

"Well, to be honest, bro, we haven't talked since I originally I asked her. I believe the original plan had something to do with a volcano? Anyways, I think the concert is a clawesome idea. Thanks, man!" Dashner smiled, and Rorrim somehow mustered yet another smile. Concerned, Dashner looked around before lowering his voice.

"Bro, are you okay? I know we haven't talked a full conversation awhile but it seems like something's troubling you."

Rory had helped him through so much that he wanted to help in any way that he could, and he figured that the first step was asking.

Dashner Hawke

"Bro, are you okay? I know we haven't talked a full conversation awhile but it seems like something's troubling you."

"A VOLCANO?!" Rory nearly jumped out of his seat, rather than answering Dashner's question. Deflection! An excellent lawyerly technique Rory had learned in Murk Trial Club. "Do you even KNOW how dangerous that sounds?!"

Rory flipped open his book bag and started digging for the Johnathan Bolt-on tickets.

"There's ash everywhere in the air, and that could lead to scratched corneas - or coughing! Not to mention the magma flows and the things SPONTANEOUSLY BURSTING INTO FLAME-" Rory pulled out the two tickets. "You definitely DEFINITELY should go to this concert instead. I couldn't possibly forgive myself if I let you get burnt extra crispy style tonight! And I don't need them anymore anyways because I don't have a ghoulfriend anymore, but whatever...."

Rory thrust the tickets into Dashner's claws and gave him the most earnest, expectant, hopeful look he could muster onto his cracked face.

"You'll have fun, right? Promise?"

Draconia St George

"..." Arillena silently moved down the hallways. Her mind was so cluttered that she kept bumping into other students who didn't notice the quiet Fae approach.

"S-Sorry..."
She muttered to someone giving her a 'Watch where you're going' Look. Her head pounded, the last thing she could remember before waking up that morning was speaking to Rory and that Ghoul Spectra but... what were they talking about? The details were Fuzzy... Damyn had disappeared as well.

I'd be more worried if I didn't think he could take care of himself...He's Vanished by my side before.

The Changling opened her locker and swapped out her books for today's classes. Reaching inside her bag the blonde felt the handheld mirror she had found earlier. Daring to look at it for a brief second she confirmed it was still 'Out of Order' Or However Rory had put it. Leaving it in her bag the Fae headed for Her Drama Class.

"Huh?" Ari blinked in mild confusion as she neared the group of students swarming a cork-board on the wall. "What on earth?" To afraid to get closer the Elvish girl looked around for some kind of clue to what was happening here. She sighed with some relief noticing a familiar Dragoness.

"H-Hello Draconia." She greeted with a fair amount of Timidness in her voice and a small amount of emptiness in her eyes. "Did...Is something happening?"

"H-Hello Draconia." She greeted with a fair amount of Timidness in her voice and a small amount of emptiness in her eyes. "Did...Is something happening?"

"Casting list posted!" Draconia managed to squeak out before being crowded aside by several eager student bodies. "Take a look and see!"

In the flurry of students trying to get close enough to see the casting list voices raised up in hexcitement and frustration.

"Oooh! I'm playing a henchman AND a police officer! Dual roles!"

"I'm playing a rock. Did my clawdition go THAT badly?"

"I am going to chew the hex out of that scenery! ...It looks delicious."

Finally, enough students were satisfied that the crowd started to dissipate. The list was more plainly visible for anymonster who wanted to see it.

Casting List

Norman McBore (Our Villain) - Heath Burns
Bogetha Blarg (Our Villainess) - Toralei Stripe

Hunk Griefsteak (Our Hero) - Gil Webber
Khandi Khane (Our Heroine) - Arillena FaeDathanna

Bloberta (Her beast friend) - Layla LaMia
Griz Chistlethorp (A student) - Jackson Jekyll
Raye Tsunlite (A student) - Frankie Stein
Headmistress Vamprina (An administrator) - Draculaura

...

The list went on to a page two, listing smaller roles, the tech crew, and other roles the students would fill on the production. Draconia clasped her hands in front of her expectantly as Arillena read the list.

"Well?" She asked. "...what do you think?"

On the lower floor of the school, a large, overall-clad troll hung an "OUT OF ORDER" sign on the door of the ghouls bat-room.

"Hex-CUSE me?!" The school's magnificent mummy, Cleo De Nile crossed her arms regally as the troll started to lope away. "This is the bat-room I use every moaning to check my makeup and ensure that my beauty is flawless for the rest of the day."

"Urgh." The troll grunted. He didn't get paid enough to have to deal with student bodies. "Bat-room's closed. We got complaints."

"Complaints?! About what? Is it flooded? Understocked? Is there a....smell?" Cleo demanded. The troll shrugged.

"Mirrors stopped working. Gotta call in a specialist."

"The mirrors...stopped...working?" Cleo asked, aghast. "They're broken?"

"Nope. Just don't work no mores for no ones. Usually it's just vampires, but these ones've stopped workin for anymonster."

"...Oh." The troll continued on its way as Cleo reflected on this odd happenstance. She shrugged it off. "Well, it's a good thing I had that floor-length mirror installed in my locker, then."

Cleo walked off to finish her pre-day primping in front of her locker. Inside of the bat-room, the large, brightly-lit mirrors that once had a dozen students crowded in front of them before class sat alone....completely blank...

"Hey what's all the hexcitement?" Draconia's little beastie Glen showed up in the midst of the mass of student bodies crowded around the casting sheet for Draconia's winning play.

Draconia turned and oddly noted that Glen was not only not sailing on his skateboard down the school hallway like usual, but he was actually -- CARRYING -- his school bag as opposed to coursing through the coffin corridors with his bag and books and varied school goodies trailing behind him in the air.

"Oh the cast has been announced for my play, Glen!" Draconia beamed. "Isn't that fangulous?"

"It's a pip!" Glen said as he attempted to levitate up to get a look over the taller kids' shoulders but the weight of his bag that carried his books, lunch and probably a good dozen or so cans of Red Ghoul only allowed him to get a few inches off the ground before he sighed and settled back down onto the floor.

He then turned and smiled at his beast ghoul and said,
"Oh sorry by the way for not picking you up, Drakie. The Glenmobile wouldn't start and I found out just in time to catch the school hearse."

"The... school hearse?"
Draconia had never even heard of Glen riding the hearse, ever since the two had known each other. "Why would you ride the school hearse?"

"Yes, don't you usually break the sound barrier -- and a few buildings... on that skateboard of yours when you don't drive?"
The pair's mutual bluddy Hellene teased Glen as she approached, joining the two.

"Yes," Draconia agreed. "Why didn't you ride your skateboard?"

"Oh..." Glen started to fidget and his cheeks started to glow like a Grimmas light, a tell-take sign of embarrassment for the little green witch. "I, er, couldn't."

"Why not?"

"It's in the shop?"

"Glen..." Hellene stressed, knowing their friend was hiding something. "What happened?"

Glen sighed and his shoulders sagged, before he confessed, "I got grounded ... from using magic."

"Wot?" Draconia exclaimed. "How come?"

Glen's cheeks took on an even healthier glow and his eyes darted about everywhere but at his two beasties until he finally said,
"Well you remember the Mad Science project Rory and I prepared for our mid-term? Theonethatstartedrockybutturnedoutcompletelykewl? Welllll.... Mister Hackington kinda sorta told me mom how it all started and how those students got loose..."

"Uh oh." Hellene and Draconia said in unison.

"Yeah." Glen clapped his palms together. "So mom confisacted my boogie board and my wand and said I *might* get em back after the howlidays."

The Changling blinked. She had almost forgotten about auditioning for Draconia's play. A good amount of her energy returned upon realizing she had been cast as the Heroine of the story. She clapped her hands happily. "Oh! This is so exciting~ I've not been in a play in so long~"

It was then that Glen and Hellene appeared. She nodded slowly recalling the Incident in the catacombs, her first day at Monster High. Ari shivered a bit as some of the fuzzy memories flashed in her head. She stepped backwards a tad, feeling a bit strange as the trio of friends talked, and looked back up at the cast list.

Has is really only been a few days since then? She wondered. So much had happened she didn't think it possible. The blonde turned back and timidly cleared her throat, trying to think of something to say.

"Um.. what do you mean by- 'Howl-i-days'"
She slowly repeated hoping she pronounced it right. It felt like a dumb question to ask, but the Ghoul couldn't think of anything else. The Fae had a feeling he meant Holiday's but... what did other monsters celebrate? She had a stronger feeling the answer would surprise her. It might have just been a random thing to ask so she could feel included in the conversation instead of just hiding like she normally would. These people were not strangers anymore...

"I'm um... Still getting used to the different words..." She managed a small smile.

Lin looked back and forth between his two beast bluddies, well, actually his ONLY two real fiends, and set his claws on his hips and huffed with much indifference.

"Aw c'mon you two! It's not altogether that much out of the realm of possibility!"

"SNRK!!!"

The walls of the corridor shook, as did the lockers lining the walls. Doors rattled open, spilling their contents everywhere as books, papers and pens slid all over the floor. Gryff hexpertly saved his coffin drink, not spilling a drop and he merely took a nonchalant sip. Lin, however, was not so lucky as he picked himself up off of the floor and shook a foreclaw at his pseudo-sister.

"I don't see what's so funny about me having a date!"

"What? I didn't say anything!" Atomica protested, then turned to Gryff. "Did I say a word?"

"Not a word." Gryff replied calmly, savoring his mourning drink.

Atomica spun back around to Lin with her arms wide open.
"See?"

"You didn't hafta." Lin pouted. "Your 'snort' spoke volumes. Decibels!"

Initiate audible inhale cycle! "I SO do NOT snort!"

"Please! try to remember I'M the one who toned your 'snort' program from sonic boom to foghorn level!"

Gryff looks around at the various students on the floor, gathering their belongings that were shaken from their lockers all the while shooting 'his Tribe' disgruntled looks. Meh. He was used to it.

"That was toned down?" Gryff shrugged and pushed himself off of the wall where he was leaning and looked at his gremlin. "You can hardly blame us for being skepti-surprised, Lin. You've been chasing those flea ridden twins for the better part of two years and now you managed to corral them into a date?"

"Oh my date isn't with Meowlody and Purrsephone." Lin announced happily. "Like Atomica, I've upgraded!"

"Oh?" Gryff arched that one lone eyebrow like only he could do. "Do tell."

Lin crammed his thumbs into the straps of his overalls and rocked on the balls of his feet, a rather 'pleased with himself' smile on his face as he proclaimed, "I have a date with Draconia St. George!"

Arillena
"I'm um... Still getting used to the different words..." She managed a small smile.

"Well, you've managed it just perfectly!" Draconia cheerfully informed Arillena. "The Scaremester ends next week with final hexams. And then, after that-"

"CRYPTMAS!" Glen piped in, jumping up and down. "The most moan-derful time of the year!"

"For you, maybe, Only Child."
Hellene nudged Glen on the top of his head. "You don't have dozens and dozens of sisters to buy gifts for."

"Cryptmas is a time when hopes and screams can come true." Draconia informed Arillena. "It's a time for family to be together and for monsters of all kinds, great and small, to spellabrate. I know that I have a Cryptmas wish for all of my family to be able to be here..."

"Your uncle is still missing, isn't he?" Hellene asked Draconia delicately. Her uncle was the (in)famous Jabberwocky, and he had been nowhere to be found for the better part of a year.

"He's not missing, hexactly, he's...well, it's quite complicated. Interdimensional politicking is hard to understand, and even moreso when the Wonderland dimension is involved..."

*GOOONNNGGG!*

The warning bell for first class boomed out throughout the school. It informed the student bodies that they had only five minutes before the hall moan-itors would start handing out deadtention slips. Draconia clasped her claws in front of her.

"I guess we'll have to talk more about the howliday break after class. Are you ready to start re-hearsing, Ari?!"

Harry woke up Woestock Eve with two missions. One, get the word out MOAR! Two, find a way out of deadtention. By hookhand or crook, Harry would not miss Woestock. Goblins needed this! That's not right....wait...what were they protesting again?

...

"THE ABUSE OF NON-ORGANIC LIFE! Yeah, cruel."

He hit the library to make more copies before class and began plastering the up and down the halls.

"I am a roc...on Monster Issssssssland. A Court of Winter's day...in deep and dark Boocemeber. Gnawing on a bone again, gazing from my window to the castle below on a freshly fallen corpse in the snow.

I AM A ROC,.,,ON MONSTER ISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSLAND!"

Harry practically skipped down the hallway, happily sticking flyers on students. One on Rory's left knee, Dashner's forehead, Glen's back, Draconia's....Harry paused and remembered his manners. He bowed slightly to Draconia and placed one in her hand.

"Great One."

He turned to Hellene and Ari.

"You...I don't know. HAVE A FLYER!!!"

Harry stuck one on the lens of Hellene's camera before hugging Ari and stuffing one in her books.

"Groovy greetings, sis! Later!"

Harry skipped off down the hall, breaking into 'I am a Roc.' again.
