Sure enough it looked as if people had just settled down and begun eating once they got there. Lin took a seat and helped Miyuki up onto her lap because otherwise she wouldn't be able to see the table. A bit more difficult way to eat but it worked.

While they ate everyone around the table participated in light banter, discussing various topics.
"So how did your visit go?" Haradhel asked once everyone had settled in. "I hadn't expected you to stay so long, to be honest."

"It was great," Lin smiled.
Even though it was also very, very enlightening. Lin hadn't quite had time to figure that part out yet.
"We spent the night there because of the snow and then Amara said she could have it finished if we spent the day to save a trip. Uhm... we ended up playing a few games, played in the snow and taught Miyuki a few new words...."

Haradhel laughed. "Indeed?" she grinned. "Well Miyuki, how would you like to show us the new words you learned?"
She looked down at the little girl and grinned at her encouragingly.

Miyuki looked up shyly, "Wod?"
She didn't feel like saying much, even though she probably had a lot to say. She was good a copying people though.

Haradhel pouted. "She's just mimicking. Not saying the words that she knows."
Earendil chuckled and poked Miyuki in the side. "Come on," he grinned. "You were spouting them off earlier. Show Haradhel what you can say!"

She giggled and edged away from the poking finger. Peering up at him she then held up her doll.
"Doll! Doll Dil!"
So it was perhaps in the wrong order to say it was an Earendil doll.

"So I see," Haradhel winked at her. "And now you have an Earendil all to yourself! Isn't that special?"
She reached out to touch the doll. "Well, I think we can safely say that her work is as good as it ever was," she murmured with a smile.

Miyuki grinned looking at her doll and touching the head.
"Hair!"
It had soft hair, she liked it very much.

Haradhel smiled and touched the hair gently. "It feels very real," she murmured. She glanced up at Lin. "Yours, I would imagine. Your hair is back to your old style." She smiled. "Amara does make sure she has the best materials."
Leave it to Amara.

Lin nodded at this, "Yea, she needed hair and I never did manage to get that hair cut before coming back so it all worked out. Miyuki wasn't happy at the haircut at first."
Though she had to wonder, looking at Miyuki's own head of hair. If they trimmed her hair, would the ends just bleach themselves out eventually? Unlike highlights and streaks that some of the elves in the Eastland had, it was hard to imagine Miyuki's hair being natural.

"Well, children are frightened of change," Haradhel smiled, "so really it's not that surprising. Even as adults, change can be difficult. With time we learn to deal with it, but to a child, it could be devastating."
She looked back at Miyuki. "She looks fine, though. Which is good."

Miyuki on her part looked more interested in her new doll than anything else. Which was normal since she didn't quite find adult conversation interesting.
"I had to convince her that I was still me at first," Lin giggled, "And then it became a lesson on how to say hair, but I think over all she takes things quite well."

"She takes after you that way," Earendil teased Lin; not that it was a bad thing. "She's quite bright."
"Well, it sounds as if you all had fun while you were on the mountain," Haradhel grinned as she finished her food. "I'm glad of it. Amara and Fletcher might not mix company with others very often, but I do know that they like it every once in a while."

Lin blushed at that, even if she didn't quite know why she was doing so.
"It was fun, and relaxing. Even Miyuki learned to play ball a bit, now that she's more interested in toys."
