Piper rolled her eyes as he did the usual when she was saying things he didn't particularly feel indulging in a subject. In one ear and right out the other and preoccupying himself with a different subject instead. Might as well follow the lead as Kaelin had indeed make quite the interesting remark. "He would, when you two are ready to have kids." Which in her opinion they both had some growing up to do before that.

Khai blinked and looked up at the group at his father's suggestion. She wouldn't really do that right? Though a skeleton and giggle later he was more or less letting himself get chased around, happier to avoid than to deal with the thing. Did not like contact with the dead things unless it was necessary. Yet sister was giggling up a storm. That and he was seeing the good in this...his sister was easily following both him and her pet around without minding her feet much.

"Exalted to you, squiggles to me. But that's me, I don't care much for magic. I'm more of a potions and poisons type of girl. Aside from the usual you know." Usual being of course shanking and such. "You're going to deny good knife throwing skills when we all know that when we sit around betting on such sport casually that you're actually not cheating. Come on now Kelli, don't be modest. It doesn't suit you at all."

He rolled his eyes at the whole squiggles things, not correcting it as Faate decided she'd rather argue that. He was going to behave himself and pay attention to his food...which he was on his third helping of already. Though he did turn his eyes to Zahara, giving her his 'I'm behaving' face. Well...he was, considering she probably knew how annoyed he was.

Malik was watching with amusement, and decided to give another suggestion.

"you don't have to follow it around, daughter. there's no range at which it'll disappear on you. let it do the chasing, and you can practice you other spells like slowing him down or using the bone cages. remember the pet is there to protect you and defend you while you use the spells in your arsenal."

glancing back at the ladies.

"Well you know my opinion I'm all for big families."

"I think she's doing it more for my extra torment than worrying about breaking a connections." Said rather flatly as he had his hands shoved in his pockets and was going through another round of backing up from his sister's pet's stalking. Said sister apprently had stopped to listen and had become intrigued. Great.

That was a new thing wasn't it. She could do lots of thing at once? But how was she supposed to concentrate then? Sometimes it was hard to tell what things were or what they did and they wanted her to not pay attention to some things and more attention to others. How was she supposed to manage all of that? Not to mention there was something else here. "I don't know any spells like that..." Said blinking in the direction her father's voice came from. She really hadn't even though about it. Could use Bumbles, could apparently lifetap without trying, and could energy trace. All of those didn't seem like things she could use conventionally...and Khai always yelled at her when she tapped him.

"sure you do, the ones in the book, remember? and your pet does what you want him to, you don't have to concentrate on keeping him around. but you see malikhai can keep away from your pet. so you have to think of a method to slow him down or stop him from getting away."

looking over at his wife.

"think your father his hiding in some corner here from Fianna with a jounral yet?"

Hmm think about the book. She'd seen it over and over but she'd never played with too many of them. But she did know them. Hm how to slow him down rather than jumping on him. A little smirk tugged at her features as something positivly ingenius came to her mind adn she could try. Thusly she turned her attention to the blip of wavering energy that was her brother and more closely studying his form. Just watch harder like the book said. Then do the usual thing, but from a distance.

He was still backwards walking away from the creature as it stalked him of it's own accord, probably for his sister's amusement. Though a sudden light popping sound and an odd jolt of pain sliced through his ankle and he fell backwards into the dirt, blinking. Not that he pondered too long as he gave a disgusted noise a moment later as her little pet was all but climbing him. "Augh, it's getting it's bony fingers in my ears! This is not right!" Pushing the thin off, though reluctantly touching it to do so, but it kept trying to climb him anyway. "Oh you are so going to owe me for this when you're old enough to torment properly."

Of course his tumble and capture, thus something she could call a success, made her give a hop and a clap of her hands together, laughing happily.

I think I can guarentee he's hiding in a corner somewhere, capturing every precious moment that is this lesson and following practice." Shaking her head as Khai apparently was being bested and already vowing his revenge. Cute.

Giving a clap for his daughter and chuckling lightly.

"Well done. now call your pet off, make him come back to you. it's a simple mental command from you to him. there are some pets that once you learn how to summon them, they can cast spells, and fight from a distance. and stronger minions that can use their natural skills."

walking over to her.

"but this is the most important part to remember. a Necromancer does not fear death, they command it. death holds no leverage on them. the dead hold no fear for them. there are things a necromancer does that requires the dead. so you can't be squimish or afraid of it."

Kneeling down to her level.

"when you really become good at this, you'll be stronger then your father in these arts. but remember not to get too proud. remember that your strength is built on the dead, on moving the lines of life and death, and to respect that. even if you don't fear it."

"Okay really, I'm done. I get one more bony finger in my ear and-argh!" Said bony fingers poking exactly where he didn't want them to poke made him shudder before a frown and grabbing the thing by it's wrists to hold it off. Sure, he could easily turn the thing to dust but that wouldn't be beneficial to his sister. Besides, looked like this was making some good bonding time. Creepy, but productive he assumed. Frankly he was more intrigued to what Savryn had done to his ankle.

At Malik's suggestion and a little quiet concentration from Savvy, the skeleton lost interest in her brother before she decided to put it away and cut the connection she had to it, making it crumble. She was good at this! It may look like she was regarding it as a game but understanding, no matter how it was achieved was the goal. If by playing she was strengthening her understanding then play she would. Tormenting her brothers was fun too. However her attention moved to her father's voice, deciding to stay where she was since obviously he was moving about.

Necromancer. They had kept saying this and while she didn't entirely grasp it was was easily starting to understand that this was what they were expecting her to be. It sounded pretty. A light yawn before she was paying attention again. "I'm not scared." She was fully aware of what dying was and she was also aware that it upset a lot of people. But for some reason, she just wasn't scared of what other people seemed to be regarding the subject.

She tilted her head as he moved, having been looking up at him before to catch his voice. Flattery of a sorts made her giggle and wrinkle her nose in amusement. Better than daddy at such things? That seemed silly. "I'll be good." And that's what it came down to her understanding of it all. To be good, and to do good at such things. Aptitude was her ally.

"I know you will be. now don't forget to pick up your chip so you can use him later."

before going to his oldest and offering his hand to him.

"Can you stand? or do we need to fix what she did to you?"

While his sister happily went about picking up her new...study materials...he shook off that creepy nasty feeling he had going on and turned his attention to his ankle. He moved it about some in testing motions before taking his father's hand just in case to help himself up. He tested his weight bearing and found that a tad uncomfortable. "I think it'll be okay. Nothing feels broken or anything. Sore though. Felt like someone slit my tendons for a moment there, or at the very least whacked me in hard enough to cause paralysis." But if he could move his ankle, that wasn't the true case. There was no way his sister could cause that kind of damage and then fix it at the same time. There just wasn't. "I'll be careful just in case." After all there was the truth of the matter...no one knew exactly what the kid could do or to what limits.

"actually that's about what she did. she tricked your brain into thinking the tendons were sliced my fluctuating the energy in your essence. a similar focus like what is used in the harm touch ability. You should be fine."

a chuckle lightly though.

"Just wait until she can summon forth things like vampiric beings and undead drachnids."

"You know, I'm starting to think she's putting Dhairiss and I to shame with what she can do magic wise." Girl wasn't even ten yet and she was whip quick on picking it all up and then applying it. Even if she probably didn't understand how it all exactly worked. "And she's going to get creepier and creepier." Though with the way it was said, he meant it in the most affectionate way he could. Sure, she was creepy..er, now but she was still his little sister. And strangely cute in regards to her accomplishments. "You're going to have a ball with all of this aren't you? You'll be heartbroken when you run out of things to teach her and someone else has to take over." Yes, dad was going to get some ribbing since Khai had to endure undead things.

And tug on daddy's pants. "I need more pockets." This was distressing and clearly it was reading on her face that she found it so. She had to carry things around with her now, but she usually wasn't wearing much with pockets to them. How was she supposed to carry her things around? This had to be solved.

A look down at his daughter, and picking her up.

"Indeed, we'll need to get you more pockets."

and glancing at his son.

"It's always enjoyable that. training her will be great time spent, until she outlasts her father and gets into more powerful spells."

He chuckled and plopped a hand on his sister's head, ruffling her hair up some much to her protesting. "The rest of us asked for fancy things to our trade and you ask for pockets. You really are indeed going to make the rest of us look bad." But indeed a nod to that student surpassing the teacher pride school of thought. It really was a nice feeling when that happened, he could speak from experience. "And hey, it gives you something to do other than chase mom around or overlord all day."

Ask and you will receive. Though she gave a noise and pushed her brother's hand away. She hated that. Most people didn't fix her hair afterwards and she'd walk around looking goofy for hours on end, not knowing it. "Can I have a nap?" She was on a role with getting what she wanted, might as well ask till the asking period was over. And who knew when that would be.
PostPosted: Wed Feb 03, 2010 8:32 pm

"Right. We're not anywhere near that point yet." After all, Kae had some ideas about things and she knew reproduction took place along with the sex act that still mystified her. But as Savvy asked for a nap, she assumed that signaled the end of the lesson and that meant she'd have her husband back. Which meant she could probably ask him any questions rolling around in her mind, too.

Kelligrin simply reached over and squeezed her hand. "T is the best at her kind of work just like I am. We lead the Guild in successful missions and are up for a highly exalted position when we go back. Our marriage will unite the Guild under an even firmer base and put down some of the rumors of dissent that have been popping up lately."

A snow white eyebrow rose and she frowned, "Do you mean you're only marrying to unite your Guild? I would strongly disagree with that being a strong enough foundation for marriage, Kelligrin. It's not an easy fix, you know."

A slight grin at his daughter.

"Alright, nap time then for you. and we'll give your brother back to his wife. but we're going to start doing this kind of thing everyday, so you'll get lots of practice and get stronger and better at it."

before handing her over to Piper.

"Nap time for her. and Kaelin, your husband is all yours again. feel free to make jokes about boney things in his ears."
