Keegan's eyes opened wide at the display, and so did Themis's. "Themis! Dodge it using Quick Attack!" the redhead shouted quickly, feeling a sense of relief as the blue and yellow Manectric raced out of harm's way, placing himself pretty much where Raichu had started its attack. Not sure what else to do, Keegan frowned, not wanting Themis to get anywhere near the mouse, not with attacks like Mega Punch and Mega Kick in its arsenal. "Leer, Themis! Shake it up a little!" Keegan called out, watching as the Manectric slowly turned his head in order to shoot a cold stare the Raichu's way. If anything, lowering its defenses could help in the long run.

Mag (an Linalee) had stayed at the wall near the door. He watched the ensuing battle between Keegan and Lt. Surge. Surge seemed powerfull enough. Mag had already decided after the first round that he should train more since none of his moves were super-effective on electric types. The best he could do was to hope that one of his other Eevee's might evolve... or give one the Thunderstone he had been holding on to since before his journey began.

At the appearance of the Raichu Maven couldn't hold herself back anymore. She pulled out her pad of paper and a pencil as she frantically started to draw. The connection between Lt Surge and the Raichu was apparant. It seemed to Maven that Lt Surge was only yelling out commands for show. They seemed to be sync perfectly.
The Manectric that Keegan had brought out also was inticing to draw. Her hands quickly went across the paper as the battle took place. She still hadn't found her voice to do any cheering but at least she didn't lose her ability to draw. She quickly drew the electricity a tad darker than anything else as her drawing was almost complete.

Still no Ky.
M.A. continued to stand on toes, staring futilely into the darkness that was the gym. There wasn't so much as an outline of any figure to give her a clue of what was going on. Twenty seconds. Thirty. A minute. No Ky. What if. . . That Bug-type. . . What if it had attacked? Maybe she was just making wild, biased generalizations, but what if this time her "women's intuition" was right? After all, that strange Pokemon's general air had been rather threatening (at least she thought so!), and she was sure that Ky wouldn't take so long in finding the door unless something was up. Maybe she was just being overly paranoid, maybe he was just looking for something or got lost in the darkness, but maybe something held him up. . . Something bad?
The thought of anything ill happening to her friend cast aside any fear of the Scyther, and a moment later she burst through the door once more, casting just a bit of light into the Gym. Still, she couldn't see anything, but yet there were the sounds of some sharp metal clashing against something else viciously. Gulping (the picture of those red eyes hadn't quite left her mind), she forced herself to get a hold of herself and quickly pulled out Daemyn from his Pokeball. Cowardice wasn't forgiveable. "Ky! We're coming!"
They ran towards the noise (Daemyn had nearly perfectly vision in the darkness, and made sure M.A.'s ears didn't lead her astray), and as soon as they were close enough, she issued a request for a brief Ember to light up the area -- then she could see. Sting and a Scyther were dukin' it out with no restraint. Was it the Scyther from yesterday? No, it didn't look like it; this one seemed more battle-scarred, less temperate. And then darkness once more.
M.A. parted her lips, about to have Daemyn attack the Scyther with another Ember, but she realized a moment before that it'd be nearly impossible to not hit Sting as well, what with the jumble of the Bug-types wrestling and jabbing at one another. And then there was the fact that this was Sting's battle; she wasn't sure if the Beedrill wanted interference. If it was Daemyn in there, he'd want to have at the Scyther on his own -- a victory with aid would not satisfy him in the least, not if this was a one-on-one situation. But then again, Sting was probably still tired from his efforts just yesterday, and this was one strong Scyther. . . "If it gets bad, Daemyn's coming in," M.A. said, directing it towards pretty much everyone. Daemyn would judge that, she supposed as she bit her lip (at the moment, he was just wondering what happened to his gym battle, having not been told yet). He would know, she trusted him with that. And she trusted Sting, too. But where were those lights?

"Larvitar, Rock Slide on Poliwag! Poliwag, Water Gun! Defend yourself or be crushed!"
Larvitar obeyed without question, digging his hands into the earth and pulling out chunks of earth with incredible force. A somewhat linear shock wave traveled along the path to Poliwag as rocks and earth rose high into the air and came down on Poliwag. To scared to listen, poliwag jumped out of the way instead of using water gun, barley escaping the attack.
"What's this!? You dare disobey me? We'll see about this. Ariados Strong Shot! Keep Poliwag in place. He's not getting away this time."
A cruel smile curled Crenu's lips as ariados immediately shot a strand of powerfully sticky thread around Poliwag, attacking him to the ground. Poliwag struggled to get free, but it was no use. Larvitar knew what to do, he dug his hands into the ground once again and sent the shock wave of earth and rock barreling towards Poliwag who could not get out of the way this time. With no other options, the small pokemon summoned up all the power it could from deep within and unleashed the strongest water gun he had ever used. The powerful jet of water smashed into the rocks and sent water and mist in every direction, propelling the attack backwards. But as the rest of the rocks fell, they overwhelmed the poor Poliwag's attempt at saving himself and came down to hard for his water gun to do anything.
"Ariados!"
Ariados yanked on the string that connected her and Poliwag, ripping him from the ground and death's grip as the rocks slammed into the very area that Poliwag was not a second ago. Dust rose from the impact and Poliwag lay on the ground gasping for air as he tried to get over the ordeal that he just faced. Ariados broke the strands that held him and hurried over to Crenu and Larvitar who stood side by side looking at Poliwag.
"Still not strong enough. But a good effort. Catch your breath, we're doing it again as soon as you do."

Raichu let out an annoyed grunt as his foot connected with only the floor. He recovered quickly, managing to land without injuring himself, and he whirled around only to be met with an icy glare from Themis. The Raichu felt himself shiver with not fright, but nervousness, and it was as though the Manectric was looking right through him, right into his mind. Raichu shuddered once more and took a few steps back, allowing more sparks to cascade onto the floor. What he wouldn't give to be able to shock his opponents! He threw a glance over his shoulder at Surge, who mouthed a single word. Quickly, the tawny mouse crouched low to the ground, and dashed towards Themis, knowing that the Manectric dared not bite him again for fear of another Mega Punch. Raichu got back up onto his hind legs as he approached his target, pivoting quickly on one foot and letting his long, powerful tail extend out behind him like a whip. Static bolts rippled across his body as he tried to pour as much might as he could into this intended Slam attack.

Not knowing the Kanto region was a bit of a let down. Was there a quicker way from Celadon City to Viridian City without flying? He pulled his PokeNav from his pocket and glanced at the map. "I could go through Mount Moon, but...who knows how long that could take?" he whispered. Then again, it would be a nice training opprotunity. He weighed his options. He could call Rena and have her fly him there quickly or he could take the long way around and train Elekid a bit on the way there.
He dropped his bag to the ground and knelt down beside it, unzipping it hastily. Kilik's hands grasped around the metal of his bike and he pulled up, unfolding it beside him. "There," he sighed, throwing a leg over the seat and balacing himself on one foot, "Now then. I'll cut through Mount Moon and Pewter City then manage my way through the Viridian Forest." He sighed.
"This is going to be a long trip," he turned his bike around and began to pedal passed the Pokemon Center and over a ledge, making his way through the gate to Saffron.

Giovanni slammed a hand down on his desk, the other clutching a phone so tightly that his knuckles became a pale white. "I don't care what it takes, I want this all repaired now!" Enraged, the boss hung up the phone. The receiver cracked upon impact with the base. A vein in his forehead pulsed almost to a bursting point. He sat down in his large chair, rubbing his temples with two fingers. Losing the Radio Tower, his base in Mahogany, not to mention Dramon's hissy fit in the lab yesterday. "He's tested my last nerve..." Giovanni growled, resting a hand on his desk. It was fairly well known in the organization that Giovanni wasn't exactly fond of Dramon in the first place, but there was no denying the Admin's skill in battle and commanding.
He sighed, standing up and walking over to the window that loomed over his lab. A few computers were shattered and wires crackled on the floor. He grimaced and glanced to the left. Suddenly, his eyes widened and he turned around. There was nobody there. "I just saw his reflection..." he whispered, a hand moving across the glass where he'd seen it, "Him. Maorde." He closed his eyes tightly and shook his head. Maorde couldn't get into his office anyway - not without raising alarms and breaking anything. He gulped. "My imagination's just running wild..."
For once, the almighty Giovanni was on edge.

Themis closed his eyes and braced himself for impact. Raichu's tail struck him squarely across the jaw; pretty much in the same location the Mega Punch had landed a few rounds earlier. It was too much for the already weakened Manectric to bear, and his legs wobbled as he collapsed onto his belly, looking up weakly at the Raichu and giving a toothy grin of respect before he fainted away into unconsciousness. Only a few seconds passed before Keegan was at the Manectric's side, gently touching the electric Pokemon's forehead. "You did great," the redhead said softly, glancing towards Raichu, and then to Surge before recalling Themis. He clipped the Pokeball onto his belt and strode quickly back to his position, knowing he only had one other choice for battle. With a quick flick of his wrist, Loki's Pokeball was spinning through the air, and in a flash of white light, the menacing Arbok rose up, pronged tongue flickering and tasting the air around him as he flared his hood and glared down at the tiny Raichu, hissing viciously.
This is it, Keegan thought, clutching Loki's empty confinement so tightly that his knuckles had gone white. When the Arbok was finished intimidating his opponent, Keegan thrust his hand forward, deciding he wasn't going to waste any time in ending this match. "Poison Sting," he said firmly, an almost dark look creeping across his features. Loki reared back, and hissed once more, and from his gaping mouth came a volley of poisoned needles, all headed for Raichu.

Train looked around outside. She then decided she needed more training before re-challanging Brock. She just needed to level up her pokemon a little more...
Pikachu tugged at Train's pant leg. He could sense Train was thinking about something that wasn't exactly making her happy and wanted to make her feel better. "Pika pi!" Pikachu said cheerfully.
Train just smiled and picked the pokemon up. She then said, "Alright, lets go. Time for some more training, ok?"

"Ariados, Poison Sting now! Larvitar, Sandstorm!"
Ariados reared her head back and fired out hundreds of needles while Larvitar answered back with a small vortex of sand. The two attacks met and blew up in a cloud of sand, both pokemon jumping back to avoid any shockwave effect.
"Larvitar, Rock Slide! Ariados, Fury Swipes, don't!"
Ariados jumped forward at larvitar ready to claw away, but as soon as Larvitar sent the shock wave of earth and rocks her way, she backed off and stopped attacking.
"What's this? Again! Ariados, don't back down from an attack, go right through it! Failure is not an option."
Ariados looked at Crenu nervously, but nodded in agreement. As Larvitar sent another attack of rocks sailing through the air towards her, she wanted to back off again, not knowing what to do.
"Jump through them! A spider of your stature should have no problem!"
"She almost fell back at his demand, it was so simple and she did not see it before. Nodding, she jumped high into the air, on top of the rocks that Larvitar had sent her so kindly, landing on one of them and jumping on to the next. As the rocks fell through the air, one nearly crashed into the rock she was on, but she managed to avoid it and jumped to the next one in line, pushing off of it with all her strength. As she sailed through the air at Larvitar, she outstretched her front two legs and began to slash wildly.
"Bite Attack!"

Larvitar jumped forward with his jaws opened wide, meeting Ariados in the air. The two pokemon collided in the air and fell to the ground, dead locked in a power struggle to finish their attacks. Larvitar held on of Ariado's front legs away from him with his hand, while he used his arm to push back the other one which slightly against his head, unable to dig it's hooked tip in for the attack. At the same time, Ariados had her head up and used her outstretched arms which Larvitar conveniently, and inconveniently at the same time, held at the moment to push him just far enough away to keep him from sinking his jaws into her body. Both pokemon braced themselves against the ground with their legs, pushing with all their strength to attack the other and not take any damage themselves. The struggle ended with the two of them using the other's force to propel themselves back and away from danger.
"Ariados, Constrict! Larvitar, Thrash!"
Larvitar's eyes grew white as he went into a frenzy of power, charging at Ariados in a berserker like rage. Ariados easily jumped over larvitar's head and landed, shooting a solid coil of strong silk at larvitar's back. The coil wrapped itself around Larvitar and began to constrict, tightening and attacking Larvitar's arms to his body. Larvitar grew angry and started pushign against his silky restraints. Despite Ariados's best effort to keep him immobilized, Larvitar broke the constricting silk and grabbed onto the end before it hit the ground. Ariados, too surprised by all of this, was not able to break off the string of silk that connected the piece Larvitar held to he piece that was comming from her mouth in time before Larvitar began to spin around wildly, swinging Ariados in circles like a rag doll tied to a string. She grew dizzy and eventually the strand snapped, sending Ariados flying off high into the air.
"Strong shot! recover Ariados!"
Ariados was dizzy, but managed to regain her composure before going to far and shot a strand of silk off with the best accuracy she could muster in her state. Perhaps through sher luck, perhaps not, Ariados landed a hit on Larvitar's forehead and pulled the string taut, yanking herself back towards the thrashing Larvitar. Larvitar, unable to think clearly, did not respond well and was hit by a falling Ariados, knocking him backwards as she skidding a few feet behind the tumbling rock pokemon. Larvitar's thrash wore off and he sat up dazzed while Ariados tried to find good footing. both pokemon stood up and faced each other, breathing hard and ready to go on.
"Enough, that was good enough. Take a break with Poliwag."
The two pokemon obayed, sitting down next to Poliwag who was slapping his tail on the ground as it giving applause. Though they seemed to sit as though nothing had happened, they gave each other a glare that signified a rivalry over Crenu's approval over the other, Poliwag looking back and forth at both of them confused.

Cyndaquil was soon sleeping quietly next to Kurine. Once, a little puff of smoke came from his nose while sleeping.
Kurine giggled quietly and stroked his head lightly, not waking him up. She had her legs strectched straight out in front of her. There was a loud rustle in the leaves on a branch a few yards above her head as Pidgey flew from the branch, soaring away into the sky.

Ky couldn't have been any more relieved to hear M.A.'s voice. The sudden light gave him comfort too, even if it was to be brief. Knowing Sting was fighting but not actually seeing him was nerve-racking, though Ky was a little frightened when he saw Scyther come down with its long knife-like appendage, digging a deep gouge into Sting's shoulder. Sting gave off a frightening scream of pain and anger that echoed among the trees of Bugsy's dark gym. Then it came to Ky; this was a battle, and Sting needed him. With one quick thrust of his arms, Ky was back on his feet. "Don't worry M.A., I got this," Ky said cooly, his nervousness gone. Within a second, various battle plans shot through his mind until one stuck. He was ready.
"Little Guy, go find the light switch! I have to see," he ordered. A bit startled by the sudden command, Little Guy scanned behind Ky near the door. Just as the Ember's light began to fade away, the little bird found it, which just so happened to be in M.A.'s blind spot. With a quick spring from the shoulder, Little Guy zipped by M.A.'s ear in a straight line. Grabbing onto the soft wood-like surface of the wall, Little Guy bit the switch and pulled it up, immediately bringing light to the front of the gym.
Ky in the meantime, was watching the brawl closely. The two bugs were both very close and very fast, though it was obvious that the Scyther was faster, even stronger maybe. Sting spent his time thrusting Fury Attack after Fury Attack, but the Scyther was either dodging the blows or simply batting them away with his sharp arms. Ky could see many cuts along Sting's arms and knew that at the moment he was losing. Then a thought occured to him, not surprisingly it was Crenu's words that came through. "If my Pokemon has the ability to fly, use it to my advantage," Ky thought to himself. "Sting, get out of there! Fly up and use Focus Energy! Then, attack from above!" he yelled.
With Sting's reflexes still on high, he responded almost immediately to the command, pushing away from the grapple and flying towards the ceiling. As he flew, he kept a wary eye on his opponent, focusing both his sight and his strength as he readied for an aerial attack.
The responding look of the Scyther was both vicious and disturbing. Was that a smile on the bug's face? As soon as Ky blinked, the Scyther had disappeared. In a panic he looked quickly to the right and the left before finally looking up. What he saw blew his mind. All he could see in the air was a green blur creating a circle around Sting.
As his opponent used Agility, Sting kept his cool and watched. His eyes were much better than Ky's and he could actually see the Scyther's eyes. They were studying, waiting for a time to strike, waiting for an opening that Sting was not going to let the Scyther find.

Miharu watched her two Pokemon as they worked together to support one another, and smiled. She could see that Lily was looking quite tired, and she guessed that the Machop's last attack had done a number on her. The young trainer also figured that if she could take down the hiker's Graveler, then the two would be able to double-team the remaining Pokemon.
"Finish that Graveler with a Giga Drain, Lily!" the green-haired girl said somewhat firmly, a feeling of relief washing over her as the Bulbasaur's olive vines streaked out and wrapped themselves around the rocky Pokemon's body. It was over then, as the Graveler sank to its knees as the remainder of its health was sapped from it, giving Lily a round of minor healing in return.
"Come back, Graveler," the hiker said glumly, recalling the fainted Pokemon and looking to his Machop. "It's up to you, buddy! Hang in there!"
"Aska! Quick Attack!" the small girl cried, pointing at her intended target. The tiny Pidgey looked down at her opponent, waiting for a good opportunity to attack. Suddenly, she gave a cry and tucked her wings to her sides, gaining momentum as she sped downwards, slashing her claws cross the Machop's body. This wasn't without consequence though, as the hiker quickly countered by having Machop use Vital Throw. Quicker than one could imagine it moving, the small fighter lashed out with a powerful arm and grabbed the bird by a wing, quickly putting her into a tight hold with the other before he threw her Judo-style to the ground. A small whimper escaped the downed bird's throat and she struggled to get up, finding it painfully difficult. She slowly tried to hobble back towards her trainer, but didn't make it more than two or three steps before she fell back down again. "Return, Aska! You did great," Miharu said softly, smiling as the Pidgey vanished back inside her Pokeball, safe from further harm.
Lily watched with a saddened look as her defeated friend was recalled, and with narrowed, angry eyes, the Bulbasaur turned back to her opponent and growled. This wasn't over yet.
